Anyone changing their mind on Set Pieces?

Post by KateR » Wed Sep 27, 2023 10:52 am

Given last night and goals, is there some hope for our set piece coaches now? Just a thought after the recent post on the same subject?

You can have the best set piece coach in the world. If the delivery is rubbish, the outcome will be rubbish.

If you can’t beat the first man you’re not going to get very far. That’s nothing to do with the set piece coach, that’s on the player.

The delivery last night were much better so the outcome was better. It’s as simple as that.

Not to mention lower league opposition. It's unlikely we're given that amount of space by any premier league team

Our delivery has been rubbish, but the defending of them has been even worse. That's my real concern.

No coincidence that the delivery was much improved with Brownhill not taking any corners.

Zaroury and Tresor’s deliveries were excellent, for each of the 7 corners we had.

As northeast said above, no Brownhill = good set pieces. I really rate Josh as a player, but he should be nowhere near our dead-balls.

Is our set-piece coach responsible for our defending of set pieces?
