Re: Sycamore Gap Tree
Typical of todays older generation who have no thought for the younger generations and seem happy for society to be destroyed as long as they're well off and alright

You are either sending up yourself or an absolute fruitloop.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Fri Sep 29, 2023 11:48 pmThat's 1 of the problems with this MB generally speaking posts are skim read & as a result incoherent garbled responses seem to be forthcoming, sometimes not even relevant to the post.
I’m betting on the latter.

You have the punctuation and grammar skills of a 5 year old.
Full stops and paragraphs are a mystery to you.
I’m surprised you are posting at this time to be honest. I assumed this was a good time to be out in the dead of night stealing wood.

I believe this was actually planted, according the the National Trust, it was planted by a John Clayton in the 19th century as a landscape feature.Hipper wrote: ↑Fri Sep 29, 2023 12:07 pmIt was a very nice looking tree.
I always considered Sycamores a bit of a weed tree. It often arrives via its seed by fences and walls or just in the garden. That's what obviously happened with this one as no-one would plant it so close to a wall, especially an important one like Hadrian's.

That plus my Man from UNCLE membership card meant I was ready for anything. Oh, plus that Bluetak type stuff that could pick up print of newspapers - came in a plastic semi-hemispherical container (I bet I couldn't say that then!).

David McCallum (Illya Kuryakin) sadly passed away a few days ago.

Looks like it will turn out to be a mindless knobhead who's done this for clicks on social media.

Long after the guy who cut down the tree is dust in the wind, this tree will live hundreds of years more
