Lancashire’s Glenn Chapple to step down

Post by dandeclaret » Thu Sep 28, 2023 6:31 pm

Lancastrian Glenn Chapple from the red rose stronghold of Earby will step down at the end of the season, bringing to a close 30 years with the club.

Shame to see him go, but the club probably needs a bit of a shake up.

What a servant he’s been. A true, proper Lancastrian proud to wear the red rose.

Great bloke Chappie, hopefully it's temporary.

He's sadly just lost his Dad a month ago, maybe linked I don't know.

Maybe he's coming home to resurrect the fortunes of the county he's from and grown up in.

He's been a great servant for the County and great player.

But the club needs an overhaul in the Coaching department and has done for a few years.

I have been watching the current game at Canterbury for the last three days (home game got me) and Chappie hasn’t really looked that interested in what was going on. He has been a fantastic servant and does leave us with some potentially very exciting youngsters but results this year have been generally disappointing (even though we have also lost a hell of a lot of playing time).
