A Bit Harsh…
that unbeaten Harrogate boxer gets seven and a half years for biting another man’s ear. A stupid thing to do but the lad’s career is ruined before it’s even really started.

Yes. What an absolute travesty and a loss to society

I’m not against longer sentences, per se.
Some though do seem to be excessive, particularly when we see sentences for similar crimes, or crimes that most might see as ‘worse’, apparently being given more leniency.
What I suppose we don’t see is all of the background, previous behaviours etc.
Ultimately, I’m not sure that the lads career should be a consideration. I’m far more comfortable with justice being applied consistently, no matter who the person.

Not harsh. The bloke’s a boxer and probably has an arsenal of ways to hurt the victim, but he chose to bite him.

Indeed. Tony Blair needlessly killed thousands of our troops looking for non existent weapons of mass destruction and he got a knighthoodHolmeclaret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 12:41 pmthat unbeaten Harrogate boxer gets seven and a half years for biting another man’s ear. To be fair 179 isn’t thousands.
As for the OP, no idea how the guy’s boxing career is relevant to his sentence.

Lessons learned, don't go biting people's ears!!! I applaud the judge, this is what the country needs. Toughen up on these lunatics, same with footy violence, send em down for a long time.

Someone local to me went out driving after doing cocaine and drinking, crashed into an oncoming car killing 2 people and he got 8 years.
The way sentences get decided on is ridiculous.
