Sheff Wed fan who mocked Bradley Lowery
I thought I’d seen and heard everything in football until I saw a statement last night from Sheffield Wednesday condemning a fan who had mocked Bradley Lowery during their game against Sunderland on Friday night.
The good news is that 31-year-old Dale Houghton has now been charged of a public order offence and currently remains in custody and the police have requested a banning order.
How low can some people sink?

Sheffield Wednesday fans have since raised almost £7k for the Bradley Lowery foundation.

Re: Sheff Wed fan who mocked Bradley Lowery
Images popped up on FB and X showing a WhatsApp group with one of the two brothers (when confronted by their mates about the image) saying: “Couldn’t give two *****”.
Absolute ****. Ruined their lives with the most disgusting, ridiculous and needless thing possible. They really do deserve whatever they’ve got coming to them, and I don’t just mean from the Police - I wouldn’t want to be in their boots around South Yorkshire when they’re out on remand judging by the comments online.

Out on remand

Re: Sheff Wed fan who mocked Bradley Lowery
The depths to which some people will stoop is beyond the comprehension of the vast majority of us. The money raised for the charity is a beacon of light in this sorry affair. As mentioned I think these 2 depraved individuals will be marked men and will never find peace again.

Re: Sheff Wed fan who mocked Bradley Lowery
It is hard to understand some people. Football seems to be an excuse for some to behave disgustingly, be it a minutes silence (even if you don't like the person just be quiet) singing songs about people dying or this. Imagine the thought process for someone to be at a game and thinking I will go on google images for a young boy who passed away and wave at people who support the same club as him.
Re: Sheff Wed fan who mocked Bradley Lowery
There should be a law where people can be sentenced for crimes against a civilised society ,these 2 low lifes will be wanting police protection next and changes of ID similar to the Bulger case.

You do think human stupidity has reached its limits, don't you? But it seems there are no limits.
Re: Sheff Wed fan who mocked Bradley Lowery
That is the question. People who have been convicted from a lot worse get all the protection under the sun from the public.

I think some form of redemption might be possible given time, but for the love of god they both need to man up with a grovelling apology & change their ways & start acting like sensible adults & start thinking about contributing positively to society themselves instead of behaving like immature knobheads.
Re: Sheff Wed fan who mocked Bradley Lowery
Words fail me sometime. I just don’t understand how any human being could do something like this and think it’s funny. I dread to think what little Bradley’s parents are going through seeing this.

I was really hoping that it would turn out that the phone image had been doctored or something but clearly not, they are just the lowest of the low. Can't wrap my head around their mentality, and to double down on it as well shameful.

I’ve spoken to a few Wednesday fans round here about it this weekend and given the strength of feeling, I kind of hope these two do turn up at Hillsborough for the next match.

To do this, and then to double-down on it, takes a special kind of scumbag. I bet they think they are being 'ard'. Their comeuppance can't come soon enough.

I suspect the penny dropped the following morning when they sobered up and saw the reaction.
Typical knobheads thinking they are tough after a few beers.
Great to see the donations going up and up at least.

Repugnant behaviour but I think it’s a bit far to suggest a custodial sentence.
Surely by that logic, anyone that engages in chants like the Jack Walker one that some of the bellends that support us do then it’s equally deserving?
Of course Sheff Wednesday has the right and can ban the ‘supporters’ but a custodial sentence? Surely not

Aye - like most of the cricket field stand get banged up every week !!
We’d go bankrupt as a club if we had to pay for the policing needed to arrest people taking Charlie at the games.
Re: Sheff Wed fan who mocked Bradley Lowery
as disgusting as it is, i'm surprised a prosecution is going ahead. seems like a lot of time, money and effort for what is essentially someone showing a picture on a mobile phone and laughing. probably happens hundreds of times a day up and down the country.
glad they will face some consequence however.

What I mean is, this stuff makes people act like utter ******** all day long, and there’s no reasoning with them. They are un-manageable until the following day. Why on earth do people high on “cocaine” think no one else knows they are off their tits?
CFS is full of absolute muppets with a nose full of powder, and it’s started to affect my match day experience. Kids can’t get through the day without a sniff and it’s incredibly sad to see groups of young ‘uns piling out of the cubicles in the toilets already feeling the effects of that shite and behaving like complete *****.

No it doesnt work like that. It has to be in his physical possession, which it wasnt. What it will do though is aggravate the matter at his sentence hearing seeing that he has admitted carrying out the act whilst on drugs.

Re: Sheff Wed fan who mocked Bradley Lowery
It's an imaginative way to stoop so low. I don't think anyone can get angry about it… it's just extreme disappointment and disgust. It's like they are unaware they live in a society. How can you be mates with people like that?
I always give people the benefit of the doubt, and people do stupid ****, get carried away, peer pressure, mob mentality, etc.
I have dark intrusive thoughts, like - what if I pushed that granny into the duck pond, lifted that ice cream into the child's face, or nudged my mate down a hole by the roadworks? These fleeting things cross my mind, and I chuckle about how my stupid brain works.
I wonder what I would be like to have my own Edit > Undo feature where I could experience the reaction to doing something so stupidly spontaneous for ten seconds and then snap back to reality before it happens.
I do think a lousy person within me could do these things if there weren't any consequences or if it could bypass the feeling of enormous guilt upon reflection.
But I can't imagine pulling out my phone, typing in ‘Sunderland fan cancer’ into Google, waiting for ages for the image to load because the 4G signal in the stadium will be shocking. Then I hold my phone up with a ****-eating grin across my face, knowing that away supporters wouldn't be able to go see it anyway, and also without remembering there are dozens of professional photographers and thousands of fans with smartphones with state-of-the-art cameras who will catch me in the act - and think it's just a giggle. It's not something that pops into your head; it takes some thought.
I almost admire them in a way. Imagine being able to plod your way through life, not considering people's feelings, just going by your daily life, amusing yourself, and not caring for consequences or your own reputation.
They can't be stupid… stupid people follow everyone else - partaking in hand gestures or chanting “Who are ya!”
This was on another level. It was just cruel. It baffles me. I’m wondering if they have learned what ‘tragedy changing’ is. Like when a child learns a swear word. ‘Whats Sunderland’s tragedy?’ and Bradley Lowrey is what they went to?
Does anyone on this board have those moments that pop into your head where you embarrassed yourself, upset someone or let yourself down - it's a memory from decades ago, buried deep into your consciousness. Do you cringe to yourself when you're unexpectedly reminded of it? Will these lads ever have that?

I think that particular chant in its early inception, was a remark to the Blackburn fans singing about the 'Longside', and the "Burnley youth who fell through the roof"
Its a horrible chant.

What they did was absolutely vile, a defenceless boy/baby cut down by a horrible disease which they found funny because the team he supported was playing their team (words fail me) , I am sure they will get their comeuppence and be ostracised by anyone with a right mind and possibly a big fine prison sentence and being known as those two goons that did this for rest of their lives.claptrappers_union wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 4:53 pmIt's an imaginative way to stoop so low. Re: Sheff Wed fan who mocked Bradley Lowery
I see people clamouring for a prison sentence here. I mean what they have done is low and scummy but does it really warrant a custodial sentence?
I mean their reputation is in the toilet, they have lost their jobs and will be virtually unemployable at least in the near future all three their deprived actions. Is that not enough?
Never mind all the bans they will receive and the social stigma. They have lost a lot ( and deservedly so ) with such a stupid thoughtless action, but a custodial sentence? Cmon
Even now if they would come out and make a grovelling apology and perhaps engage in some fund raising for the foundation it would help the healing process and actually give them a bit of dignity back.
