Monday night football!

Post by chekhov » Mon Oct 02, 2023 8:25 pm

“Chelsea with cheer a cheer they seem to have left behind.”

“He has a moment of mighty uplift.”

Not the last cringy commentary moments this evening…

Chelsea looking very sharp and certainly not a bottom 5 side. Having said that Fulham look awful

It’s the fellow who replaced Martin Tyler, I forgot his name.

Frank Lampard deciding it's easier to tell others how to be successful as a coach than actually being a successful coach.

It’s unfortunate timing that Chelsea are starting to look halfway competent.

Played well Maatsen.

Very tidy and unlucky with that shot that hit the post.

He will break into that team eventually. Good on him for backing himself.

Fulham seemed to find a fair bit of space in behind Maatsen but failed to create anything meaningful from the decent positions they got into

Good professional job from Chelsea - managed the game well after getting ahead

Hoping we pose more of an attacking threat than a very disappointing Fulham

Didn’t Mudryk and Broja both pick up injuries?

We’ve nothing to fear against Chelsea. Fulham gifted them their goals but didn’t look like scoring otherwise.

Fulham were awful, Palhinha should be asked to explain his 2nd half by the manager this morning.

Spent 45 minutes pointing to others where to pass the ball, ran away from the ball himself and avoiding tackles.

I thought Maatsen should have scored and it was a poor miss. He did OK but it was difficult to see what his instructions were. Colwill was the wing back who was presumably supposed to deal with Iwobi.

I thought Fulham looked pretty capable but the second goal was dreadful from Ream. On current play they'd beat us.

I thought their front three in the first half looked excellent. Broja has definitely added some much needed directness. If that front three starts against us they will be a difficult opposition

Palhinha is the key for Fulham. They must hope they get enough points by the time they sell him in January.

Fulham capitulated against their local rival. Not a good sign.
