Trafford 5 - still not convincing, passing is slow and laboured
Roberts 5 - poor tonight and have the ball away too much
Al-Dakhil 7 - had a good game, always in the right place
Beyer 8 - was blocking everything in the 2nd half
Taylor 7 - decent defensively and got down the left well
Cullen 8* - had that bit of quality tonight, rarely lost the ball
Brownhill 5 - poor, kept giving the ball away he’s not PL level
Berge 8 - showed some real quality with his passes tonight
Koleosho 6 - didn’t do enough damage down the right
Amdouni 6 - started off well but got bullied and made irrelevant
Foster 8 - excellent goal and all round running. Tired a bit

Ramsey 6 - had a good run down the left
Brunn Larsen 7- quality goal, should be starting
Rodriguez 6 - held the ball up well and could have drove into the box late in the game before taking that shot on.

Trafford 5

Roberts 4 - gave it away countless times and so much of their attack came down his side.

Al Dakhil 6

Beyer 8*

Taylor 7

Cullen 8 - that goal line clearance was absolutely vital.

Brownhill 7

Berge 7 - utilised the spaces so well in the first half, and a lovely through ball to find Foster. Couldn’t impact the game in the 2nd when Luton were all over us.

Koleosho 7 - so much potential. Think he’s best when he’s driving at his full back. End product needs to improve.

Amdouni 6 - Good feet and decent in tight spaces but he has to start converting the opportunities that come to him. He should be our top scorer.

Foster 7 - had a flutter on him to score tonight. He’s so important to us at the minute. Great to see him doing well.

Ramsey 6

Bruun Larsen 7 - what a strike. Must have watched Benson’s highlights reel from last season.

Huge result. The performance can take a back seat and I’m sure VK will evaluate it in his own time. That 2nd half could have gone vastly different on another night. Right now though it’s the result that matters. A massive monkey off the back and hopefully we can kick on from here.

Trafford 6 - a shaky performance , saved from conceding by Cullen and looked a bit all at sea. Good contribution to our goals was a big positive for him.
Roberts 6 - looked one paced several times and could have made a better challenge to prevent their goal assist. In his favour was his never say die attitude to the end.
Al Dakhil 6 - didn't like the way he was turned so easily for their goal but a solid showing otherwise
Beyer 8 I thought he was outstanding when all in front of him lost their way for that 10-15 minute spell leading up to their goal . Many good blocks and interceptions
Taylor 6 - decent enough , better first half but stood firm defensively
Cullen 8 - showed he'll be fine against the bottom half teams, great anticipation for the goal -line clearance and prominent in the build up play in the first half
Brownhill 7 - I liked his willingness to shoot and his stamina to the end
Berge 7- best player on the field in the first half capped by great assist
Koleosho 6 - reluctant to take on his man in the first half , again worked hard until he ran out of energy
Amdouni 5 - flattered with occasional bursts of brilliance but again a liability when we are in possession. No composure tonight in their box.
Foster 8 - a handful , helped us keep possession in the first half and showed his pace and composure when tucking away his goal. Starved if possession in the second half

Ramsey 5 - didn't affect the play when we needed it
Larsen 7 - only one comment necessary , wonderful goal!

Trafford 6
Roberts 5 rate poor performance
Al Dakhil 6
Beyer 7
Taylor 8
Cullen 8*
Brownhill 7
Berge 8
Koleosho 5 Just play him on the left
Amdouni 5 just play him in behind Foster
Foster 7

Subs:
Ramsey 4 ridiculous substitution
Bruun Larsen 8 wonder goal

That was poor and Konpany needs to put round pegs in round holes or we are going down

We got out of jail tonight. How we conspired to nearly draw that I’ll never know.

Credit to Luton for all that they have achieved, but they are dire.

We simply can’t continue with Trafford. We lost so much momentum and possession in the game, and his wayward pass cost us the goal. We were in complete control from the 15th minute up until the 30th, and 3 long balls from Trafford resulted in 2 Luton headers on our goal. It took us 10 minutes to get the game back under control again.

There’s lots of issues in this squad, and many were evident tonight, but the most glaring problem is Trafford.

He’s a young kid and he’s learning but at the moment, he is incompatible with how we want to play.

Trafford - 6
Don't want to be too harsh because he didn't have a major mistake but I have to say that he looked far from convincing. Had some good passes but at the same time misplaced a lot of them. He is also very slow at distribution and often puts himself under pressure.

Taylor - 7
Good performance. Started brightly and looked very dangerous in the early minutes, could have easily had an assist. Some nice blocks later in the game.

Beyer - 8 MOTM
Brilliant game. I think it's really hard to man mark Morris but Beyer won everything both on the ground and in the air.

AAD - 6
Not as busy as Beyer and definitely look more composed than a few days ago. However, lost a few duels late on and maybe could have done better before their goal.

Roberts - 6
Good in the first half but their fullback caused him a lot of problems once they started pushing. Lost the header before their goal. Needs to stop giving ball away in dangerous zones.

Brownhill - 7
OK performance. Steady on the ball and completed his defensive duties.

Cullen - 8
Brilliant. Won a lot of duels, had some good tackles and was a lot more involved than in previous games. Very important clearance that kept us in the lead.

Berge - 8
His best league game so far. Very good on the ball and I'm glad we've finally seen how good his passing range can be.

Koleosho and Amdouni - both 6
Promising but they both need to improve their decision making and end product.

Foster - 7
Didn't have too many chances but took the one he needed and caused a lot of problems with his movement and physicality. Four goal involvements in five league games is a serious number. I just hope he stays fit as long as possible because we look a lot better with him leading the line.

Subs:

Ramsey - 6
Wasn't involved much but carried the ball well on few occasions.

Bruun Larsen - 7
Must have watched Benson's highlights. What a goal that was!

Rodriguez - 6
His best cameo so far. Held the ball well and almost scored.

Kompany - 6
Dominant first half but we completely lost the control of midfield in the second half. I feel subs could have come earlier.

Trafford 6 - really not sure about him tonight - Luton put him under a lot of pressure and he didn't loom strong at all
Roberts 4 - woeful second half
Al Dakhil 7 - solid
Beyer 9 - superb
Taylor 6 - got penned in
Cullen 8 - dogged and at the heart of our best stuff
Brownhill - 6 - started well but faded a bit
Berge 7 - skilful and a brilliant assist
Koleosho 5 - looms tricky and lively but final end product lacking
Amdoundi 5 - Complete passe ger 2nd half and his decision making need to improve
Foster 8 - as good a front line performance a syiu will see

Brun Larsen - 7 killer finish and again a good performance - I'd be tempted to play him instead of Amdouni
Ramsey - 5 not sure if on long wnough but didn't really impact the game at all
Rodriguez 5 - not much to work off but sadly not swift enough any more

Whilst not everything came off for Amdouni and he missed a couple of very good chances, he also showed great determination and looked very dangerous in the first half - despite Luton’s best attempts to stop him by kicking him out of the game.

Trafford 5 Not prem ready, has got to come for the ball more especially in games like this, too casual/slow with distribution putting defenders in trouble
Roberts 5 thought he played well Saturday but back to being a lightweight liability\
Al-Dakhil 6 Bit slack defensively for their goal but okay other than that in a difficult game for centre backs
Beyer 7 Stood up well to the bombardment
Taylor 8 MoM Brilliant tonight defending and going forward complete performance
Cullen 8 like CT a complete performance and what a clearance
Brownhill 5 Didn`t do enough for me and as for corners and FK`s don`t get me started
Berge 7 Luton gave him space and he made good use of it
Koleosho 6 Some good runs but seems better suited to the left wing
Amdouni 6 Can`t fault his workrate these days but needs more composure in his finishing, we know he has the ability
Foster 8 Another candidate for MoM but even with his good running and brilliant finish CT still takes it for me

Ramsey N\A
Brunn Larsen 7 Who needs MB (joke) goal worthy of winning any game, why are we not starting him right and Koleosho left ?
Jay Rod N/A could have done a bit better with his chance maybe

Trafford 5 set the scene in the first 5 seconds, smashing a clearance into the Luton forward. Didn't get much better and their goal came from his poor pass
Roberts 5 poor poor distribution
Taylor 7 good defensively, stifled us often going forward
Beyer 8* back to his best
Al Dakhil 7 played well but was turned for their goal
Cullen 8 much better and what a clearance
Brownhill 7 OK but can we stop him taking set pieces
Berge 7 good back through for our first
Koleosho 6 promising but need an end product
Amdouni 6 couple of wasteful shots. Faded
Foster 8 we have missed him and took his chance well

Ramsey 6 not convinced by him
Bruun Larsen 7 lively and a Benson style winner
Jay Rod 6 couple of decent touches in a short time

Tale of two halves - we were excellent in the first and deserved our lead. Luton came back as expected in the second and played to their strengths, which we'd largely played around up until then. They haven't really moved on from last season and it would have been a slight travesty if they got something out of this.

Trafford - 6 could potentially have done a bit better with the goal but he wasn't alone in that. Otherwise he was fine, a bit ponderous in possession maybe.

Roberts - 6 never stopped going but he was under pressure a lot in the 2nd half

Al-Dakhil - 6 also could have done a bit better with the goal and a bit stronger at other times

Beyer - 8 excellent tonight against a powerful opponent

Taylor - 7 decent again and his experience mattered. Some good bits going forward as well.

Cullen - 8 more like last season, although maybe because we were playing a team from last season. Crucial header off the line.

Brownhill - 7 vital ratting and won the ball high up the pitch countless times, decent effort that brushed the roof of the net.

Berge - 8 superb first half, dominated proceedings but had less of a hold on things when they came back into the game and they got tighter to him.

Amdouni - 6 involved in lots of good stuff, forced a good save from their keeper but was again guilty of being a bit casual and faded 2nd half

Koleosho - 6 seems more suited to the left but still caused problems on the right

Foster - 8 showed exactly what we've missed the last couple of games. Strong, quick, effective pressing and a lovely finish for his goal.

Subs played their part although whether they were the right ones is another matter.

A good win this and although it's largely more about the result than the performance, this was a good one overall and gives us plenty to build on.

First time visiting Luton & Kenilworth Road, interesting place.

Surprised at some of the low ratings, thought we delivered a really strong first half, and aside from a 20-25 minute spell second half, dealt with their threat quite well.

The Muric mob are onto Trafford it seems, yet this game last season was also a struggle playing out from the keeper.

Trafford 6 - some decent pings and throws, some rash stuff
Roberts 6 - bit physically weak I felt tonight but kept at it
AAD 7 - bounced back from his error at Newcastle well
Beyer 8 - looked well up for it
Taylor 8 - gritty performance, can limit build up play a bit
Cullen 7 - key part in most good moves and defended well
Berge 9* - looking a PL player, some really classy play
Brownhill 6 - good energy but… hmm
Koleosho 6 - some excellent wing play but no finish tonight
Amdouni 7 - joy to watch in full flow like 1st half, faded 2nd
Foster 8 - needed him back, brilliant finish

Ramsey 6
Bruun Larsen 7 - magic match winning goal
Rodriguez 6

Felt the subs were 5-10 mins too late as we were clearly flagging with them 3 up top.

We did what we had to do. Struggled second half but were excellent in the first. Very concerning performance from the start of the second until they scored, but great character to pull the win out of that with a stunning goal. Disappointed with Amdouni tonight - a player I really do enjoy watching but his finishing needs serious work. I think Larsen needs to be starting now. Onwards and upwards.

Just back-great team performance and 3 points

We went more direct today and had a good outlet in Foster. Did not realise quite how good he was until he tired and we got Jay on instead. If he keeps developing he will be similar to Ivan Toney

Trafford 6-little to do and obviously told to kick it deep. ONe big howler from kick off
Roberts 7
Beyer 8
Al Dakhill 8
Taylor 7
Cullen 8, some very good defending
Berge 8-the most talented player on the pitch MOM
Brownhill 7-not the most gifted but gives you 100%
Koleosho 6-some little flashes of genius but a bit subdued tonight
Foster 8-great break and goal
Amdouni 7-for his first half display, but tired

Larsen 8-great finish and a threat
Ramsey 6, got pulled off in in favour of a CH
Jay 5-looks slow, timid and not totally involved

Good sub by VK in Larsen, and wise to bring on another CH when Luton were hurling in high balls

6 for Beyer? He was in front of the player of the match the last time I looked. He didn't let Morris bully him and beat him to almost everything along with throwing himself in front of everything.

You're half right.

Cullen 8*
Brownhill 7
Berge 8
Koleosho 5 Just play him on the left
Amdouni 5 just play him in behind Foster

Subs:
Ramsey 4 ridiculous substitution
Bruun Larsen 8 wonder goal

That was poor and Konpany needs to put round pegs in round holes or we are going down
We won the game.

This was a tough game against a physically bigger and stronger team.

Zeki puts in the hard yards often unnoticed. Berge and Cullen were the engine that kept us going when the pressure was on and Larsen's goal, wow!

Trafford - 6 - Needs to command his area better, particularly on set pieces (seem to remember saying something similar about Muric in 1st half of last season)
Roberts - 6 - Gave the ball away a lot but defended well after for the most parts
Al-Dakhil - 6 - Struggled with their physicality but did okay generally
Beyer - 8 - Thought he really got stuck in and enjoyed the battle with Morris. Great timing in the tackle.
Taylor - 8 - Another assured performance defensively and good when going forward.
Cullen - 8 - Thought he did really well recycling the ball and providing defensive cover, header off the line too an extra mark.
Brownhill - 7 - Industrious & gave an energy to the midfield. Essential to play the press.
Berge - 9* - Probably his best game. Carried the ball well, great passing. integral to our attacking build up play.
Koleosho - 6 - Quiet and a bit lethargic. Maybe time to give the young lad a rest for the next game in 4 days time
Foster - 7 - Took his goal really well and looks a real handful for them. Worrying about his injury because he is integral to the team
Amdouni - 6 - Started brightly but faded. Played left side of the front 3 and did okay.

JBL - 7 - Knocking on the door for a starting place.
Ramsey - 6 - didn't think he did anything wrong to be subbed off, just a tactical decision when under the cosh a bit.
Jay - 6 - Did the role asked of him.

Trafford 6 : nearly a horrendous mistake in first few seconds. Looked ok after that but still think as a defensive unit we are not right yet.
Roberts 5 : not sure how many games in a row that is now that his passing has been awful.
Al-D 6 : thought he coped ok with their forwards but it was a tough game for him.
Beyer 8 (MoM) : brilliant second half in particular.
Taylor 7 : very good and really promising going forward in first half. Not seen that for a while.
Cullen 7 : excellent game and goal saving clearance
Brownhill 6 : good game but gave the ball away more than he should
Berge 8 : really good game.
Koleosho 5 : said before this game he needs a rest
Foster 7 : works so hard for the team and shown his strength in every game he’s played. Good goal too.
Amdouni 5 : some good touches early but he’s another one who may benefit from a rest or coming off the bench.

JBL 7 : great goal and he’s done well when he’s come on pretty much every time. Think he will soon be starting
Ramsey 5 : one important run where he carried the ball a long way at a time when we were under a lot of pressure. As yet though I’m struggling to see what he brings to the team over and above the players we already had.
Jay 6 : thought he did ok and nearly scored too.

Tough game and we struggled a lot more in the second half than I expected after how we had played in the first. But we got a win and that’s the most important thing - especially to those people on here who said that last night was going to define our season !!

Trafford 5 For the first time this season, I've decided Muric is a better bet. Trafford's distribution is not good enough
Roberts 5 Gave the ball away so many times. And has done in a few recent games
AAD 6
Beyer 7
Taylor 6
Cullen 7 Other than the clearance, completely anonymous 2nd half. But very good 1st half
Brownhill 6 Lots of panicky passes 2nd half
Berge 8 I think he might become our player of the season
Koleosho 6 Really lacking end product
Amdouni 6 Lack of discipline at times. Still a special talent though
Foster 7 Essential to us

Ramsey 6 Not a winger
Bruun Larsen 7 Deserves a start

From tv
Trafford 6 poor with the ball at his feet, otherwise ok
Roberts 6 outmuscled too often
AAD 7 not great with their goal, but generally good performance
Beyer 8 outstanding defensive performance in the second half
Taylor 7 another good game, our defence is much better with him
Cullen 7 great first half, not so great second
Brownhill 6 worked hard with little effect
Burge 8* our best midfielder last night against a very tough team
Koleoso 5, shouldn't be on the right, also needs a rest from the starting 11
Foster 7 our only real striker in the club, strong, pacey with plenty of skill
Amdouni 6 a bit like Luca, good in bits, needs more end product

Not certain if Ramsey and Larsen were on long enough
Ramsey 6 he needs to find his role
Larsen 7 cracking goal, should be starting before Luca.

Excellent three points against a very strong, organised team. That was tough going but we played well at times and scrapped well at others. Onwards and upwards.
