Re: Suing Everton ?
Good, also the corrupt blind eye turning officials should be held to account if Everton are proven to be in breech of the regulations.

If something was going to happen it would have already happened considering how long they have been under suspicion & allegedly breaking the rules.

Never going to happen, like Man City getting punished. Just go after Reading or Southend instead.

I find it almost impossible to believe that they haven't broken the rules; and to quite a large extent too. The numbers speak for themselves
The fact that the PL helped them resolve the issue, but with absolutely zero transparency just adds to this belief
If the inquiry is properly independent, then I can only see one outcome. Unfortunately, I suspect we will see something entirely predictable

Re: Suing Everton ?
Surely natural justice will see Everton relegated this year. So SU, Luton and Everton it is then.?

Everton will never be relegated this season, the Premier league will do everything in it's power to keep that brand new Stadium in the league for next season

Re: Suing Everton ?
It stinks if if its ignored. Remember Richarlison whilst their player, throwing a flare that landed on the pitch back into the crowd. Had a Burnley player done that he would have been banned within a few weeks. It was not until much later, after he had been sold to Spurs, that he got his ban. Spurs were the losers not Everton. At the time he was a vital player for Everton and his subsequent play and goals helped them stay up

In 1990, the managing director of London Weekend Television (LWT), Greg Dyke, met with the representatives of the "big five" football clubs in England (Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Arsenal) over a dinner. The meeting was to pave the way for a breakaway from The Football League.AGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 7:14 pmEverton will never be relegated this season, the Premier league will do everything in it's power to keep that brand new Stadium in the league for next season

PL will, as ever, be bending over backwards to ensure Everton (and their shiny new ground) will be lining up in the PL next season.
Not a cat in hell's chance of finding them guilty.

Re: Suing Everton ?
I agree. I think a truly independent review will only have one outcome and we will also be very well placed to sue thereafter. Either Everton for breaking the rules, or the PL for helping them cover it up/not taking prompt action (Everton’s disclosures about the level of PL complicity in “approving” their accounts will be interesting.Roosterbooster wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 6:42 pmI find it almost impossible to believe that they haven't broken the rules; and to quite a large extent too. The cynic in me says it’ll all be swept under the carpet, but it’s hard to see how the PL can make a case for independent regulation if it doesn’t take a tough stance with Everton and City so maybe there is some hope.
What I will say is that having an ex-Everton CFO on the books and, most likely, advising which rocks to look under can only be helpful for us.

Re: Suing Everton ?
From what I can gather a lot of this revolves around how much Everton "lost" due to the Covid lockdown. They have claimed it was a colossal amount, but other clubs must have posted numbers for this also, so are Everton way out of line with everyone else on this? If so, they've been really stupid. I'm sure it's out there, but I wonder what other clubs have lost owing to the pandemic.
Re: Suing Everton ?
Just to remind people again...
The charge against Everton is related to a tax issue on their new stadium. NOT overspends or breaking FFP spending rules.
And the daily mail article has been completely denied by respected Journos

Re: Suing Everton ?
If its a tax issue, and they can afford to pay it, does that mean there's no chance of a points reduction?
Or does this case mean the FFP issue can be revisited later if it brings any new info to light?

Re: Suing Everton ?
Ah, yes, just seen that. So basically the PL are saying that no other rules have been broken in relation to FFP?
Just a possible tax breach?
So they’ll get away with it.

Feels like we're basically trying to do to Everton what Steve Gibson did to Derby, hold a pretty empty threat of a lawsuit over the club to try and scupper the takeover.

The guy is completely incompetent and doesn't appear to even know the rules.
If he were on VAR for Everton's last game he could quite well unintentionally relegate them with one of his errors.
Even if he were given a directive to favour Everton he'd be quite capable of cocking it up!

Quid(s) in.
The following week we had a London CID officer travel all the way up here to our house in North Yorkshire as they wanted a statement from us regarding who we thought threw the coin, not that it was bloody obvious from the cctv, oh and we weren’t allowed to give the name of the person we believed (we knew) threw the coin, we had to tell them the colour of his shirt and shorts and his squad number if we knew it, and I’m pretty sure the officer told us we were not allowed to mention the colour of the players skin. It was farcical really.

Looks like 777 might be just the amount of cash they have. If it collapses how will that affect Everton ?

Re: Suing Everton ?
They put forward a few extra arguments such as writing down player values as it would be more difficult to sell them for a profit during/after Covid.Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2023 1:12 pmFrom what I can gather a lot of this revolves around how much Everton "lost" due to the Covid lockdown. They, unsurprisingly, spent quite a bit on professional advisers to justify their approach.
But, as others have said, the FFP case is reported to relate to a tax issue surrounding loans for the club's new stadium at Bramley Moore Dock so I'm not sure whether the above is in question or not.

We seem to really be banging the drum on this issue...
Re: Suing Everton ?
It just stinks of corruption. The issue should have been addressed the season we went down, I think there will be a cover-up . It may well need a police investigation.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 9:58 pmhttps://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footb ... -week.html

Re: Suing Everton ?
Couple of interesting snippets from an article in todays Telegraph -
“ Everton could owe 777 Partners £60 million by the time its takeover of the club is approved or blocked, after being loaned another £20 million by the prospective owners.
Telegraph Sport has been told the American firm has provided the debt-ridden club with more working capital to cover a second month’s wages while it attempts to complete a £500 million purchase.”
“ It also emerged yesterday that the hearing into Everton’s alleged breach of Premier League spending rules had begun a week earlier than expected.
The case, which could have major implications for the planned sale of the club, was brought in March after they posted losses of £372 million over three years, more than three times the £105 million limit. Everton have strongly denied any wrongdoing.”

Re: Suing Everton ?
Surely if this is correct, and I have idea if it is or not, then they should be expecting a points reduction as well as remuneration to clubs that were affected by this cheating. Might be a bit awkward for the FA though since Evertons new ground has already been selected for the Euros so fully expect whitewash to be brushed around Goodison very soon.
