Local lad Ross Sykes on the bench at Anfield tonight for the opposition. Good luck Ross. Hope you get on.

Rovers fans comment after last night's loss at Coventry.
We talk about Liverpool
Well all the headlines are about the VAR controversy but let's talk about a referee that comes from Burnley, disallowing a perfectly legal goal tonight.
The very same referee who allowed their keeper to handball the equaliser last season.
How is this clown allowed to ref games involving us?

Re: Tonights footie
The referee (Simpson) awarded the goal. It was his assistant who was flagging like mad and told him to disallow it, so their point (bias) doesn't really stand.Lip wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2023 8:47 pmRovers fans comment after last night's loss at Coventry.

He refereed us v Reading last season didn't he so surely he cannot be a Burnley born referee .Lip wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2023 8:47 pmRovers fans comment after last night's loss at Coventry.

Kevin Long playing tonight. Played every minute so far this season. High in the clearances list! Good on him.

Birmingham, worst penalty decision on this planet.
What happened to the refs, that was never ever a penalty.

Apparently Swift has had 6 shots on target this season and scored all 6.
Brums pitch is a horrible colour, find it hard to watch close ups of it.

Not for the first time. He cost us at West Brom last season.
Re: Tonights footie
2-1 Brum. I watched Rivers game at Coventry and watching the local derby now. Makes me realize how far we have progressed under Kompany
Having said that at least this game is exciting if lacking in quality

Re: Tonights footie
Jutkiewicz on the bench too- he's had a very decent spell at Brum- not far off 300 appearances incl the loan period (albeit latterly mostly off the bench) & over 60 goals.

Re: Tonights footie
And many of those 60+ goals have been decisive ones. My Brum supporting mates at Walking Football reckon he has done a great job for them.
Re: Tonights footie
He has come on and changed games for them. Pity he never quite did it for us, although he played iron with his knee injury, which was brave.

just a reminder Jed Wallace chose 40k a week to play for WBA over joining us, sliding door moment for him

Very good player is Lukey Juke, certainly at that level. I always wonder how he might have done for us in the Championship but he missed that season with injury.

We’d have had to spend a hell of a lot of time watching him wrestling the centre back instead of playing football.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2023 9:33 pmVery good player is Lukey Juke, certainly at that level. It never worked out for Juke at Burnley but we were blessed to have him in the commentary box that night versus Derby.

I was very disappointed we didn’t sign him. Thought he’d be what we needed:- cheap, experienced, good delivery.
Couldn’t even begin to imagine what was about to unfold…

As in it's probably best not to take too much notice on rumours which in this case were, as often reported in the media, wide of the mark.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2023 11:08 pmas in we weren't in for him as was widely rumoured at the time ?
