Trafford 6 again not an awful long wrong but keeps conceding
Vitinho 4 naive
Al Dakhil 6
Delcroix 4 looks so wooden with the ball, went to pot in 2nd half
Taylor 5 if we want to play out from the back he’s really not the answer, as much as he’s better defensively
Cullen 4 swamped again.
Brownhill 5 can we stop him taking set pieces at some point?
Berge 4 struggled again and disappeared completely when the going got tough
Tresor 4 early days but not very good at all
Odebert 5 neat finish but very raw
Foster 6 held the ball up well at times but no support whatsoever most of the time

O’Shea 3 this lad looks miles off it to me at this level
Roberts 3 terrible with the ball
Ramsey 3 as above
Koleosho 5 few good runs but little product

Kompany 3. He’s really really struggling at this level so far. Doesn’t seem to be able to stem the tide and a lot of his decisions during the game seem to make us far worse. Confident he’ll get there though.

Trafford - 5
Vitinho - 3 - I think he's been quoted as wanting to get in the Brazil squad more times than he's had good games for us.
Delcroix - 4
Al-Dakhil - 4
Taylor - 5
Cullen - 5
Brownhill - 5
Berge - 4
Odobert - 7
Tresor - 5
Foster - 6

O'Shea - 4
Roberts - 5
Ramsey - 4
Koleosho - 5

An insane performance, especially the second half. I was agog watching it.

What sort of team are we? Counter attacking? Possession? Direct? What's the plan? What's the aim? What's the game plan? Does anyone know? We look so feeble and confused out there.

Good in bursts but bursts isn't enough. Another capitulation.

Trafford 5 no major errors
Vitinho 3 handed a new one by Sterling and offered little going forward
Al Dakhil 4 maybe a bit unlucky for the goal but didn't look comfortable
Delcroix 4 meh
Taylor 5 people crying out for a left back but he looks no more out of place than anyone else
Cullen 5 finding the step up difficult
Brownhill 4 anonymous in the main
Berge 4 as above
Tresor 4 maybe he has something but we've yet to see it
Odebert 6 quite bright
Foster 6 gets plaudits for his effort but we're gonna need more than that. There was an early opening at 0-0 when he could have put Odobert through but he held the ball too long and played a poor pass straight to the defender. A minor thing in the scheme of things but when chances are hard to come by we need to make more of them.
Roberts 4 got the same treatment as Vitinho
Koleosho 6 seems to make things happen
Larsen 6 as above
Oshea 3 not having him sorry
Ramsey 3 not writing him off but he needs to show something

Ok so I was never confident at 1-0 but I did.not see that coming. Chelsea dominated the ball first half but did next to nothing with it and we were pretty comfortable defensively apart from the threat of Sterling.
The goal was unlucky and came at the worst possible time but we need to be stronger than that.
I thought at half time that if we could get more of the ball then we had a chance to go on and win it as Chelsea weren't really at the races.
They get an early penalty and the game was over. A complete capitulation which is becoming the norm at home.
Our tempo had already dropped since our goal and we played with no intensity until we tried to salvage some pride at 1-4.
The most worrying thing for me is the central midfield. It's ok having god knows how many dangerous wide men but you have to be able to create openings for them in advanced positions.
Neither Berge, Cullen or Brownhill look comfortable or should I say good enough on the ball, particularly when receiving it in tight spaces, under pressure.
And the tactics seemed to be 6 or 7 passes at the back then either pump it long (the ball didn't stick once) or play it to central midfield into a midfielder covered by 2-3 Chelsea players and as said above, they clearly aren't good enough for this.
Anyway rant / review over, on to Brentford.

Trafford 5 doesnt relieve pressure at the back adds to it. Remember when Joe Hart was replaced by Tom Heaton and things improved dramatically....noone seemingly could explain it but it worked....time for deja vue?

Trafford 5 still questions over distribution
Vitinhio 4 dreadful but left exposed
Al Dakhil 6 thought he played well strange sub.
Delacroix 3 wooden nowhere near what we need.
Taylor 4 distinctly average.
Cullen 6 pick of midfield another strange sub.
Brownhill 4 miles off it. Why is he still taking set pieces?
Berge 4 poor today.
Odobert 6 had the full back on a yellow, scored and then did little else.
Tresor 3 dreadful
Foster 7 a bright spark playing up top on his own.

Subs offered nothing summed up by Roberts aimless pass into the middle which Ramsey for the second game in a row got outmuscled.

Trafford 5 nowt to do apart from pick the ball out of the net

Vintinho 4 bloody hell
Aad 5 was playing okay until the og
Delcroix 5 didn’t notice him doing anything
Taylor 6 no major errors spotted

Brownhill 5 anonymous again at this level, needs replacing in Jan
Cullen 6 tried to get on the ball and do something
Odobert 8 class goal and decent second effort
Tresor 6 nearly scored faded after that
Berge 6 decent run or two and decent passing

Foster 6 decent assist faded after those behind him lost their heads

Ramsey 3 do you think we meant to get Jacob?

Trafford 6
Vitinho 4 - Sterling had him. Not helped at all though as he had no support from anyone trying to double up on him.
Al-Dakhil 5
Delcroix 5 - distribution woeful
Taylor 5
Cullen 5
Berge 5
Trésor 3 - very little threat and gave it away countless times in the second half
Brownhill 5
Odobert 6
Foster 7 - a country mile our best player. Any ratings of 3 are a complete joke. Good hold up play and decent link up throughout the game

Roberts 4
Koleosho 5
Ramsey 3 - I’m sorry but he strolls around like he’s got all the time in the world. That’s twice we’ve conceded due to him being dispossessed at crucial moments. No awareness, not alert and I dare say if that was Cullen in his position for the third, we’d have done better.

We are far, far too easy to play against. When we have our moments going forward we look effective, but it’s few and far between. We probably had a 15 minute spell at best today when we looked on top, but we never sustain it to a point were we look to kill teams off.

There seems to be a massive lack of Premier League know-how, which is understandable given the young players we have and manager who has never lead at this level.

The results against teams around us have been encouraging. However you feel if we are to stay up we need to introduce more resiliency, and a defensive framework, that allows us to build on our modest attacking qualities.

Trafford - 5 not much chance with any of the goals and he was decent enough 1st half but he has zero presence.

Vitinho - 3 was going to give him an extra point for his involvement in the goal but considering he was at fault for the first 3 goals, having had numerous warnings in the first half, it's hard to justify any more

Al Dakhil - 6 nothing he could do about the OG, decent half unlike

Delcroix - 4 a very, very poor 90 minutes

Taylor - 7 one of the few players to come out of that with Amy credit

Cullen - 4 way off it

Brownhill - 5 not much better, awful set pieces

Berge - 5 good first half, terrible second

Odobert - 6 good finish for his goal but very raw, like a lot of our young wingers, he's got about half an hour in him that's any good, then disappears

Tresor - 3 playing like he's been to Tresor the night before. Proper garbage so far.

Foster - 8 far and away our best player but was basically a one man band today

O'Shea - 4 nope

Roberts - 4 no better than Vitinho

Ramsey - 3 rancid

Koleosho - 4 not in it at all

Have to remember that this is a young manager and a ridiculously young team and they are all learning. They have to do it quickly though because this isn't really the league to be doing loads of learning in. A team that seemed to be picked by pins in the phonebook seemed bizarre after Tuesday's win. Consistency is really important at this level.

Chelsea are a good side with some top players but we had the measure of them today until we shot ourselves in the foot.

Trafford 5 - distribution is far too slow and in affect pins us in our own half.
Vitinho 4 - I think he was selected for his more dogged 1v1 defending against Sterling. Unfortunately really struggled, good for the goal.
Al Dakhil 6 - did OK but again question marks on the goal, even if it was slightly unfortunate.
Delcroix 5 - looked OK first half, struggled on the second.
Taylor 5 - not much wrong, most of the trouble came down the opposite flank.
Tresor 4 - looked to be on a completely different wavelength to his team mates. Not sure how he made it out for the second half. There is something there but not ready for starts against the better sides on this evidence. Badly st fault for th3 second.
Cullen 6 - he was playing well, the yellow limited him a little unfortunately but it was necessary.
Berge 4 - his stupid mistake in the first half handed them the momentum even if the goal was fortunate. You cannot make silly mistakes like that at this level. Another bad error for their second.
Brownhill 5 - energetic but not involved.
Odobert 7* - looked very dangerous particularly in the first half. Good effort saved well in the second. Lots of ability.
Foster 7 - another good game from Foster, worked very hard and was a real handful for the Chelsea centre backs. Occasionally sloppy with the ball.

O'Shea 4 - a very strong correlation between his minutes on the pitch and the amount of goals we concede.
Ramsay 4 - another very costly mistake. Not sure he is ready.

Whilst on paper on the 8 games we've played, there were 6 you wouldn't expect us to win any. With many of these games at home you would really expect at least a point. Particularly with the starts Chelsea and UTD have made.
I was expecting some heavy defeats this season but they have happened far too regularly so far. Today is even more frustrating as it looked like we had turned the corner but we were so easy to play against once more it was rather alarming.
Whilst this season is undoubtedly going to be tough, we are putting a lot of pressure on ourselves to do well against the lower half teams. Let's hope we can deliver.

Trafford - 6 Not great but didn't do an awful lot wrong.
vitinho - 4 I thought he got murdered.
Al Dakhil - 6 We noticed the difference after he went off. Can't be too heavily criticised for the OG.
Delcroix - 5 Mostly OK. Won a few crucial challenges. His positioning was decent.
Taylor - 6 Not the problem, despite his lack of technique.
Cullen - 5 over-run in the 2nd period.
Brownhill - 5
Berge - 5 Some nice touches and passes but part of a midfield that was engulfed by few 100 millions pounds of players.
tressor - 4 A couple of quality touches but he vanished.
Odobert - 8 He was excellent in the first half. Scored an excellent goal.
Foster - 7 An excellent assist. Worked tirelessly. Much better than I ever thought he would be.

o'shea - 4 I think he is the weak-link at CB. Dreadful passing out which put us in danger.
Roberts - 5
ramsey - 4 Started dreadfully. His pass in the middle gifted them their (3rd). Youth brings naivity.
Koleosho - 6 showed some creativity and direction.

Kompany - 5 I didn't understand every decision. A few that I don't like. We were good for most of the 1st half. Poor for most of the 2nd. We gifted them their goals but that is what comes with inexperienced players who aren't battle hardened. Once we're ahead, it'd be great if we could defend like recent years but never mind.

Knew we’d be in for a torrid afternoon after one look at the team sheet.

Trafford 5 keep playing him Vince
Vitinho 5
Al Dakhil 5
Delcroix 5 is he good enough ?
Taylor 5 stifles our play.
Brownhill 5 a level too high for him but we knew this
Cullen 5
Berge 5 thought he’d be far better than what we’ve seen to date
Tresor 4 poor didn’t offer anything much
Odebert 6 good first half
Foster 6 good first half

Subs ( didn’t work at all making 3)

Roberts 5
OShea 5
Koleosho 6
Ramsey 3 Weak. Should be nowhere near a PL side yet. Aston Villa knew this.

Far far too inexperienced a side. 100 million for a completely imbalanced side without strengthening the areas we needed to.
All looks very naive from the management.

If that 2nd half performance doesn't make VK wake up and smell the coffee, nothing will. An absolutely abysmal second half - abysmal.

Trafford - 4 - For me, it starts with the keeper. Can't be any slower in possession if he tried and his "choice" of pass at times is mind numbingly appalling. I don't doubt he's a good keeper, but he's not making worldies to keep us in games - 20 goals in 8 games he's conceded - so for me, sorry, Muric is a far better base option from which to play, if we are going to insist on playing this way. I can't see what we lose by bringing him in

Vitinho - 3 - Good for our goal, absolutely appalling for their first 2 goals. The first is kids football defending.
Al-Dakhil - 6 - Surely injured
Delcroix - 4 - Not sure I've seen as wooden a centre back with the ball at his feet since Peter Zelem
Taylor - - 6 - At least he keeps going

Cullen - 5 - Once he went off, any shape we may have had disappeared
Berge - 5 - Moments of quality, but not involved enough
Brownhill - 4 - Really sloppy in possession

Tresor - 3 - Staggering given the wide options we have that we start with a square peg in a round hole. Gave Vitinho no cover amd generally looked like he had no idea where he was playing
Foster - 7* - Felt for him - ran himself into the ground, good assist, generally linked up play well on the rare occassion he was found
Odabert - 6 - Great goal, got his man booked, and then never went near the full back again. Bizarre

O'Shea - 4
Roberts - 5
Koleosho - 5
Ramsey - 3 - yet another goal conceded when he gives the ball away. Lightweight and that's being kind.

Koleosho and Laarsen on the bench, yet Tresor starts - I can only assume Zaroury is injured. Just bizarre.

We can keep saying "these aren't the games we need to worry about" but the reality is we've got to start picking something up - the pressure to then win games we should be challenging in will end up being too much for us to handle.

Trafford - 4 I feel every time a shot is on target it will result in a goal
Vitinho - 4 Tough task against Sterling and he definitely came 2nd
Al Dakhil - 5 Unlucky with the OG but still struggling
Delcroix - 4 Thought he started well but went downhill rapidly
Taylor - 6 Not his worst game but passing isn’t in his armoury
Tresor - 4 Was looking forward to watching him but very disappointed
Cullen - 4 Wasn’t the pivot today like usual but struggled with the pace of the game
Brownhill - 5 Captain of the team but does he lead by example…no. On the periphery again
Berge - 4 As good as he was on Tuesday he was as bad today
Odobert - 6 Started like a house on fire. Scored a good goal and had Cucurella on toast and a yellow…then stood off
Foster - 5 Did great for the goal but that was about it

O’Shea - 4 If he is the back up centre half we are in poor shape
Roberts - 4 Sterling carried on his torture of our full backs
Brunn Larsen - 4 Hardly had a kick
Ramsey - 3 Powder puff and again contributed to us conceding
Koleosho - 4 Never got going

We looked half decent up to and including the goal then it all went horribly wrong. We are so easy to play against with the softest of centres. We are the masters of our own downfall with our sloppy passing. Let’s hope our fortunes change after the international break because we are in deep trouble already this season and we are only just in to October

Trafford 4 - some generous marking for yet another display of slow, ponderous distribution that causes us all sort of problems
Vitinho 3 - shocking, VK has a real blind spot when it comes to him
Al Dakhil 5 - ok, but still a bit to learn and unfortunate OG
Delcroix 4 - doesn’t look anywhere near up to standard
Taylor 4 - he’s willing but you can see why we were looking to throw millions at the oppo for the lad who came on with ten to go
Cullen 4 - finding the step up tough
Brownhill 4 - energy, that’s it
Berge 5 - I actually thought he was one of our better players in the first half. Went to **** second half but then everybody did
Tresor 3 - looked like he’d been to bloody Tresor. Really poor and quite lazy touches
Odebert 6 - bright first half, faded rapidly, took goal well
Foster 6* - puts himself about, very good for the goal, only one who really looks the standard

Roberts 5 - not sure why he was dropped
O’Shea 4 - a Championship defender. Harwood-Bellis was RIGHT THERE and we let it slip
Ramsey 4 - looks very weak
Koleosho 5 - at least tried a bit

Absolute shocker. Lineup increasingly looking like it’s being chosen out of a tombola. Need to learn and quickly and that includes the manager.

One of them where we really need half points.

Trafford 5 - them 20 yard, ponderous lobs to the fullback leave us in a world of trouble. Strange one, seems a good lad but not ready for the big time yet.

Vitinho 4 - started well but got crucified down that side later on.
Al Dak 5 - bags of potential but needs taking out of the side for now.
Delcroix 6 - did ok Delcroix, I’d like to see him with Beyer at RCB
Chaz 6 - didn’t give Palmer a sniff and stuck to task. Found it harder second half when our midfield went to pot.
Berge 5 - tale of two halves first good, second not so good
Cullen 7 - shame he got a yellow and had to go off.
Tresor 5 - see Berge
Foster 7 - looks every bit a PL player
Odobert 7 - really well taken goal but faded

O’Shea - 5 just looks like a bog standard Championship defender. Coady was there for a senior role for 4 mill.
Roberts - 6
Ramsey 4 - dispossessed again leading to a goal. Just not what we needed.
Koleosho 6 - positive but not sure he was the right change to make
Brunn Larsen 6 - deserves a start. Intelligent footballer

You forgot Brownhill which is not surprising. I had to check a few people were actually playing before rating them☺️

Lol - Brownhill just ran about.

Ah man it sucks being in this position - feels like the feel good factor has totally gone with a brand new team?

Meant to ride that promotion wave!

The club should sell him and get someone from the crowd to do the same thing, would be a lot cheaper!😅
