Not injured and VK said we now have players of equal ability to him
Re: Is Zaroury injured
Yet offered him a contract extension a few months ago. Can’t be good for moral having so many players unable to make the match day squadClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Oct 08, 2023 10:20 amNot injured and VK said we now have players of equal ability to him

Also not gonna see appreciation on ‘assets’ as our players are now being referred to if they’re not playing.

A 25 man squad leaves you with 3 goal keepers, two for each position then a mix of two utility players or extra backup in two positionsboatshed bill wrote: ↑Sun Oct 08, 2023 10:31 amPart of a 25 man squad. The days of the first 11 are over.
Look at any squad in the PL and they are far better balanced than ours is. That is just facts - it was illuminated pre-season as a concern and now it is a concern.

Re: Is Zaroury injured
Zaroury and Benson were being touted as £40m+ players by some on here last season.
Now they struggle to get into the match day squad. Either all these new lads are worth 50m each or some people were talking pony.

Has this been reported that Zaroury isn’t injured? If so I’m baffled by what’s going on with the squad selections .

Re: Is Zaroury injured
Is Zaroury any better than Koleosho, Tresor, Odebert and Brun Larsen? Its very close and debateable but post World Cup Zarory had a pretty quiet second half to the season and we've seen the size of the step up when players like Beyer, Cullen, Brownhill and Roberts are struggling. Cullen looked like a Rolls Royce last season but looks more like a second had Ford in the Premier League so not sure players like Zaroury and Benson would look any better
Zaroury is a young lad and has all the potential to step up and make it to the top but I reckon Kompany felt we hit the Premier League a season too early for some players so hes gonna give them the space and time to develop rather than chucking them in at the deep end.
When Zaroury gets his chance the pressure will be off and I think at some stage he will turn 2 or 3 games our way that just might be the difference

I suggested Zaroury should go on loan during the window and you said 'Maniac comment' . Here you are now acting like you weren't on the Zaroury bandwagon.StayingDown4Ever wrote: ↑Sun Oct 08, 2023 10:34 amZaroury and Benson were being touted as £40m+ players by some on here last season.

How you can even use the word pony on here after Fosters embarrassed you this season I do not know!

To play devils advocate are koleosho, Tresor Odebert and Brun Larsen any better than Zaroury and Benson.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Sun Oct 08, 2023 10:41 amIs Zaroury any better than Koleosho, Tresor, Odebert and Brun Larsen? We seem to have spent a £100m on 14 players but have we improved the quality of the starting 11

Re: Is Zaroury injured
Think we are now seeing the downside the last transfer window being unbalanced. There is obvious exciting potential e.g Luka, Wilfred, Aaron, particularly the first 2. However, we needed a better blend in terms of youth v experience, defence v attack. We also lack physicality. Currently we seem to have too many for the future and not enough for the present.
We have spent a fortune in BFC terms recently, but still have areas for improvement, particularly both full backs, a dominant cb and a Barton type in cm.
With a bit of tweaking I think we can just about stay up. That for me includes selective use of Cork.

Re: Is Zaroury injured
Its left back, right back and centre back where I think our business has been poor as I think the attacking signings look good and the fact they are keeping Zaroury and Benson out shows we have improved (just the step up to Prem League is greater)
I think the issue is more we have Charlie Taylor and Brownhill stating and looks like Roberts and Al Dakhil havent been improved on.
Ive mentioned before but Dean Smith took Villa up with a group of loan players so virtually had to rebuild the team in the summer and invested in a lot of young talent who would improve. They survived the first season by the skin of their teeth but the second season those young players looked the real deal and they came 11th.
Kompany is trying to set us up to grow and flourish rather than just try to survive each season and as a result this season is goona be tough but if we come 17th or higher this year then as long as VK stays we'll be more like a 10th-14th team going forward which for a club like Burnley would be unbelievable

Re: Is Zaroury injured
We simply have too many midfielders, our summer transfer window looks more bizarre everyday.
Re: Is Zaroury injured
I believe we would have done better in the Prem with last years team plus say Foster Berge Amdouni and Larsen

Re: Is Zaroury injured
It was a maniac comment. Zaroury should be in the squad. He’s better than most of what was brought in over the summer. I just think all those saying that he was worth £40m+ were ridiculous.
Foster has embarrassed nobody except himself when he got sent off at Forest for his petulant behaviour.

Our squad isn't 25 though, it's 31 in total. Yesterday, Trafford, Al-Dakhil, Koleosho and Odobert all played and none of them are in the 25.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Sun Oct 08, 2023 10:31 amPart of a 25 man squad. The days of the first 11 are over.

And that doesn't include the guys out on loan
Come the end of the season we will have to do a lot of pruning if we get relegated

Re: Is Zaroury injured
How do you know your best team?
How do you get consistency?
How do you keep everyone happy?
Way too many players. But then in certain areas we haven’t got the right quality.

Unlikely he's got Covid, he was watching the game yesterday from the Director's box, next to Benson.

Benson is injured.
When you say we had nobody on the bench to replace a winger please tell me you are not being serious.
We have enough wingers to replace those wingers that replace the starting wingers !
Did you not notice we brought on 2 wide men yesterday ?

OK, then he's part of a 31 man squad.
Re: Is Zaroury injured
Obviously unaware of what ignore means
Not everyone lives in a bubble where you only meet people around you, where you live, some people have jobs that bring them into contact with other walks of life... Hard to grasp?
Some people know other people who introduce them to others... Still hard to grasp?
I play golf with a relation, a close one, of an ex burnley player who has introduced me to other players...... Still struggling?
In this case a relation is an agent... Who represents players.... Surely you're getting it now?
Check some previous posts of mine regarding players, training days, lifestyles etc if it bothers you that much.... But as I said to you last week... Check facts, stop following others like a lame sheep
