Latest odds on our manager gone by Christmas?
Re: Latest odds on our manager gone by Christmas?
Lose the next 2 and I think he’ll ge gone. It’s an appalling start. We are a not going to be attractive to investors with the expectation of defeat every week. We could have employed a far cheaper manager and not spent £100 million to be bottom with 4 points at this stage.

We could but then we'd be like Sheffield United and Luton except we have some cracking young players, an excellent manager and loads of potential.

No way will he be going anywhere. And rightly so. Some fans are willing this to happen.

But was your prediction that VK would be sacked or poached by a bigger club?AfloatinClaret wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 10:04 am[quote=ebby post_id=2218867 time=1699835876 user_id=338]
How many days to Christmas? My prediction that VK would not be around by then could well come true.

Sacked.
Re: Latest odds on our manager gone by Christmas?
It’s been ****, no doubt about it, but that’s a really ruthless way of looking at things, forgetting everything that happened last season so quickly. I’d hope our chairman is better than that.Boss Hogg wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 9:06 amLose the next 2 and I think he’ll ge gone. It’s an appalling start. We have to stick with VK and see the season (and at least half of next season) through regardless.

These are my views entirely.BurnleyFC wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 1:38 pmIt’s been ****, no doubt about it, but that’s a really ruthless way of looking at things, forgetting everything that happened last season so quickly. I’d hope our chairman is better than that.

Would be the most brain dead thing ever to sack a manager who:
- came to us when the chips were down and he had a massive rebuilding job to do.
- signed a whole new team.
- implemented a new style.
- took us up at the first time of asking.
- stayed when linked to other PL jobs.
- signed a new 5 yr contract before a ball was kicked.
- signed a new team (almost) that he sees as being Prem quality.
That’s two teams he’s signed. That if nothing else proves he can attract very good young players to this small, unfashionable club in windy/rainy North West.
Yes he’s made mistakes. Continues to imo (Muric). But no way on earth should we sack someone off who’s been loyal to us but is also learning themselves. He gets all of this season and next, for me.
I’d like to see him starting to pick a settled team though. Plus Muric.

To me he is another Stevie or Frank. Good players and talkers but cannot manage.

Short memories indeed, an absolute genius 12 games later he can’t manage and he’s useless. Do you realise how stupid and fickle that sounds?
And that’s without even taking into consideration the obstacles during those 12 games. Rotten set of home fixtures, injuries to key players in key areas, youngest squad in the league, brand new squad to PL football, manager who isn’t even 40 years old and clearly has a lot to learn.

Came onto the forum and the first thing I see a post from KRBFC that I agree with... I'm off for a lie down.

We will definitely have a much better chance of winning if we play with 12 men - including 2 keepers.

Re: Latest odds on our manager gone by Christmas?
The biggest asset our club has got. If he goes anywhere it will be on his own accord.
Re: Latest odds on our manager gone by Christmas?
Hopefully he can turn it around but he may not and he may go of his own accord either before or if/ when we go down. To think the board won’t sack if they and the investors do not like what they are seeing on the pitch is fanciful. They are businessmen not sentimentalists.ashtonlongsider wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 5:50 pmThe biggest asset our club has got. If he goes anywhere it will be on his own accord.

Re: Latest odds on our manager gone by Christmas?
It is so difficult for all of us,VK built us a smashing joy to watch team last season, never brought any of the key players back,Tella,Harwood Bellis, signed a goalkeeper we did not need,to many wingers we did not need, discarding players who won us the League,Why oh Why is he doing this to us fans, neither wonder why we are baffled in disbelief what he is doing, and in shock, what is happening,UTC.

Re: Latest odds on our manager gone by Christmas?
Just to make a point I will list a few of the recent managers that have better points per game return than VK in the prem:
Gerrard - 1.18
Lampard - 1.00
Dean smith - 1.18
Hassenhutel - 1.28
Marsch - 1.16
Nathan Jones - 1.07
Gary Neville (not premier league but he’s regularly mocked for his management career) - 1.32
Javi Gracia - 0.97
Vincent Kompany - 0.33
All of the above managers have regularly been mocked on this board for being poor.
What have you seen this season to think VK is our clubs biggest asset?

The biggest asset the club has, the bloke (gerrard?) in the BL who is always reminding the linesman of his duties. He deserves an OBE.ashtonlongsider wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 5:50 pmThe biggest asset our club has got. If he goes anywhere it will be on his own accord.

How isn’t that relevant?
Performing at this level dictates the value of the asset. It’s literally the most relevant way.

Stats of other managers at different clubs have zero to do with it. Might as well rate their omelette as well while you're at it.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 9:39 pmHow isn’t that relevant?

Re: Latest odds on our manager gone by Christmas?
Nope. It's a barometer of how each of those managers did at different clubs in different circumstances, and has no relevance whatsoever to how valuable an asset Kompany is to Burnley.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 14, 2023 5:38 amIt’s a barometer of his value as an asset.

So you have a month to screenshot you're bet. I accept as you claimed you have been far too busy to have done so as yet but seen as you keep logging in to bump this I presume you have a bit more free time to do so.
Look forward to seeing it
