2nd viewing of the Chelsea game...

Post by burnley007 » Mon Oct 09, 2023 11:58 am

I can't bring myself to watch it back. I normally like to scrutinise the game after a couple of days, just to reflect better. Does anyone else do this?

It was just so appalling on Saturday, I don't want to go through it all again.

Maybe I'll just watch the 1st half...

Don't think I have ever done this? Not even famous wins over the years.
Life's too short.

I watch the extended Highlights but I think the only other full games Ive watched more than once was the Reading playoff away game and the Wembley final. I certainly couldn't watch that 2nd half again from Saturday, I feel for the players who will be made to sit through it again today, no doubt

I did enjoy the full games they showed during lockdown on a Saturday though, come to think of it.

I our last 8 games against Chelsea at home, we have drawn 1 and lost 7, so it wasn't as if we were expected to win, I only so the highlights on match of the day and we looked like a different team in the second half, but have to say sterling was on fire, if he hadn't been playing I think we could at least got a draw, he caused more damage than anyone else on their team.

Me too - have deleted it permanently from the recording schedule.

Had enough of the sycophants on there tbh. Just wish now that the top 10
would pi$$ off and leave us all alone.

Danny Murphy said he's seen enough and we're not going down, there's three worse teams than Burnley, actually mirrored a lot of my thinking, and certainly VK's!

I record it and watch it silently fast forwarding through all the punditry and introductions. You can then see a bit of how other teams fare.

Don't need to watch it back
First half looked decent for us because the team full of better players were miles off it and we could live with them
Second half looked poor because the team full of better players were no longer miles off it and we couldn't live with them

Basic errors didn't help but they upped their press massively and we didn't have the talent in midfield to deal with it
