Fancy dress hire

Post by CaptainKirk » Fri Oct 13, 2023 10:36 am

Thought I would tap into the knowledge on here - any recommendations for decent fancy dress hire shops in the Burnley/Pendle area?
Cheers in advance.

Pendle Hippodrome certainly used to hire costumes. The theatre is currently having refurbishment work done but it's worth asking.

Talk of the Town. I think it might have closed down in the last few weeks.

Used to be one on Briercliffe Rd. The cheap plastic tat shops killed a lot of them off.

Not sure about fancy dress hire shops now as the ones I knew of all seem to be closed now.

It's worth popping in and having a look in a few charity shops as they seem to drag out the fancy dress outfits round about this time each year.

There was one in town I went in the other day had a few adult costumes for sale at about a fiver each

Speaking of fancy dress…
Arnold Schwarzenegger was going to a “Musicians”fancy dress party dressed as Tchaikovsky

However, when he found out that someone was already dressed as Tchaikovsky, he said "i'll be Bach

Maybe they're selling online now, they came out of the premises a good few years ago.

I’m stood in the Pendle Hippodrome as I type. There does still appear to be a costume hire according to the adverts on the TV in the bar area.

Pendle Hippodrome wardrobe department costume hire By appointment only

Pendle Village Mill advertise a fancy dress section in their store for adults and children but I do think it’s more to ‘buy’ items than hire.
