Has to change the midfield at half time, not only cause it’s been a gaping hole all game but the two who are meant to be playing there now carry bookings. Berge straight off for cork. Get some grit in there then introduce Koleosho and JBL early second half

Hard to disagree there albeit maybe not to that extent. But definitely lack a physical ball winning presence in midfield.
Midfield ?? It's s all over the pitch in every single position

I don’t like to single individual players out…but I am going to have to in regards to O’Shea. He cost £7m apparently? He is Kevin Long level. I am shocked at his performances for us. Expected so much more for a pretty experienced player for his age.
That's an insult to Kevin Long who is far better ;)

You cannot compete without a keeper who commands his area and has top class distribution. Our midfield is non existent

Cork for Berge
Zaroury for Odobert (been anonymous today)
Koleosho for Tresor (who just refuses to take on the man)
And Muric for Trafford - there I’ve said it.

Everyone has us sussed at the back and we look like a side who has never played together .
Has to be better in the 2nd half .

I’d be bringing on Brownhill for Odobert. Koleosho for Tresor. Then playing Amdouni right, Berge, Cullen, Brownhill middle and Koleosho left. Way better balance.

I'd have hoped massengo was in the squad by now. He can actually win you the ball back and can pick a pass

Al Dakhil is playing alongside players who are not up to it. Trafford has the same problem.

So we bring on yet another winger. Koleosho is not the answer to what’s going on.

I remember Joe Hart not being individually dreadful but he wasn’t as good as the other keepers and as soon as we replaced him the team played better.
Ah, that time we replaced an England goalkeeper with an England Goalkeeper who our consistent back four had played with for years prevously. Halcyon days.

We’re getting overran in CM so he’s brought on a winger to replace a winger. Right.

One like for like sub on the wing isn't really going to fix those first half problems.

Massive improvement needed. A repeat of that truly awful first half showing will be unacceptable. Maybe start competing for the ball!

He’s a good shot stopper. It’s the rest of his game where he is weak. That punch out was pathetic. The reaction save for the deflected shot was very good.

Give me a nice rounded steady goal keeper any day of the week, instead of a lower league shot stopper.
I think on balance the comment that he has kept us in the game is more true than the comments they are bog standard saves but yes he looks shaky as did Muric on a number of occasions.

I'd have Pope back tomorrow but that's not going to happen.

The worrying thing for me is the fact that we look like a group of lads who have just got together for a kick about, having never played together before. Our midfield is so weak and lacking physicality, it"s hard to see us getting back into this. Koleosho on, might help.

I feel sorry for Trafford, I don't think he's the problem, Kompany may well damage his confidence, and harm his career by continuing to expect him to play in a way which he doesn't seem capable (yet), behind a makeshift/leaky defence who also lack cohesion.
Recruitment over the summer has been puzzling in some ways, and we have been unfortunate with injuries at CB, but it was never going to be easy to compete with any teams barring the bottom six, such is the gulf between the Championship and the Premier League.
We are trying to outplay teams who have better quality players, and we lack the physicality (and possibly tactical desire) to resort to a more direct "Plan B" when required.
Kompany is obviously still learning at this level, but like many successful people he seems to be very single-minded. What looks like dedication to an ideal when you're winning starts to look like a blinkered stubbornness when results aren't good.
Fingers crossed he turns it round.

I love Koleosho, but how his introduction solves our problems I don't know.

McNally just scored for Stoke, and Wood just scored for Florist.

Let's hope those that have inexplicably come out for the second half have had an absolute rocket and they come out willing to put in a shift.

Well who'd athunk...

At least its only 1-0. Only other positive perhaps is that Pace surely won't allow this sh1tshambles to carry on much longer. If Kompany has lost his mind and is determined to carry this on without making the obvious changes needed, then he will be potted and rightly so.

Again, we end up desperately defending from one of our attacking set pieces.

Give O'Shea credit, he defended thata superbly.

Surely not after committing to a £80-100m spend.

Would be a disaster. Who on earth would come in for any of our players if they carry on like this?
