Muric and Zaroury

Post by bumba » Sat Oct 21, 2023 4:56 pm

Seriously what do they have to do, two fan favourites part of a great side last season that know 'the system' yet neither can get any minutes let alone games despite poor players in front of them.

Bruun Larsson has to start too now and it's time Cullen was dropped for Cork to add some bite because we're being bullied.
Never saw this coming 6 months ago but wow how bad have we become, it's becoming unwatchable

The Zaroury omission is mind boggling. Tresor has looked sub-standard, he’s a million miles from this level currently (and he’s not alone in that, Amdouni is a concern at this point despite some nice touches too).

Zaroury has earned his chance.

Muric, is not getting back in. He is done at Burnley.

Zaroury is a mystery.

Trafford was probably our best player today.

Zaroury, no idea, Kompany doesn’t think he’s up to it yet seemingly.

So, if you are really in the know, if this was/is the case why didn't we ship him out in the summer?

He’s made up stories on here before about being invited to training by Steve Cotterill etc. CT exposed him on this occasion.

He’s absolutely not in the know.

I haven’t seen players running through brick walls for each other this season. And I’m starting to wonder whether VK’s ‘lack of loyalty’ to some of last season’s key players has had a hugely detrimental impact in the camp. Can anyone honestly say that our players are giving 100% at the moment?

I said this right at the beginning when Zaroury got his red card it was frustration he'd earned his start opening day and was dropped for an inexperienced 18 year old.
Players don't forget these things sadly he could be losing the squad by the looks of it

Muric, Cork and Zaroury all better than what we witnessed in the same positions today and most of this season so far.

The lack of effort and fight is the most concerning for me from a team that was so together last season.

Not for his distribution he wasn’t. How many times did he get caught?

Arguably he was. The team were all dire in possession, particularly the ones paid to use their feet most of the time.

We had such a fabulous side last season, I can’t comprehend why we’ve made a conscious decision to dismantle it so quickly.

We’ve lost all momentum and cohesion, and the players who did so well for us last season must be irked. The connection between players and fans has completely gone too. It really is gutting to see.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but not buying THB, Tella and Maatsen is looking more baffling by the week. Not keeping Barnes is also questionable at the moment. He certainly wouldnt be putting up with that half arsed display.

I don’t think it can be underestimated how much we miss Tella’s movement and pressing off the ball.

Bridging the gap was always going to be difficult, but by god have we made it so much harder for ourselves.

Some very worrying behind the scenes situations going on :. Im mystified how both Zaroury and Muric are not getting into the team
..we have tried to strengthen areas that were fine and it’s looking like it’s backfired .. anyone that thinks this team is better than the one that romped championship is deluded

Still love the idea that Muric has done something so bad that he can't be in the team, except in cup games, and it's fine for him to be on the bench, and we didn't sell him when we signed two goalies.

The summer business is now starting to be seriously questionable. Nothing we have brought in is so far is an improvement on players such as Maatsen, THB and Tella. Given the way last season went I expected a bit of a ‘bounce’ in the first few games but then we decided to almost start afresh.

Got to love the idea of bringing in a keeper who will force our defenders and midfielders to receive the ball even more in tight spaces, with their backs to goal.

One of our bigger issues so far has been our inability to play it out from the back effectively - we are pressed and don’t deal with the pressure.

Why add to that?

Gawthorpe used to be open to view , SC invited me in to several training sessions. Which I thin TS said I didn’t. Was he there , erm no.

Under VK they have put up screens on the pitch on the Gawthorpe side of the river.

The new pitches there is no access unless you’re a member of the fishing club which has fishing rights inside the clubs training center.

I am a member but cannot be arsed to go fishing there.

On the Trafford debate ,hate to use this as an example but Southgate plays Pickford over Pope because he wants a guy that’s good with his feet over being a brilliant shot stopper like Pope ,Trafford may have made some excellent saves but he doesn’t influence the play like Muric did last season, and I know it’s a tougher league but Muric’s passing ability would work in any division.

There's inside info I have from some time ago that I don't even allude to if it's something I don't think can be shared.
There's no reason to play coy and teehee about something you claim to know about Muric's transgressions, but not say. If it's something you genuinely can't share you don't **** around on a forum all "oohoho I know something you don't but he did a bad bad". If it's something you can share there's no reason to be shy, because it's something you can come out with that can be substantiated.

In the words of Mother Theresa, **** or get off the pot.

Theres also a reason Pope is playing the in Champions League this season and Pickford is (yet again) battling relegation.

When a team has a midfield with the likes of Bellingham, Foden, Grealish, Phillips or even Henderson the argument, that a GK who passes like Pirlo is essential, holds water.

Our outfield players have shown today they are incapable of controlling the ball, keeping possession or in some cases making simple passes at this level. I keep saying it, but worry about the guys using their feet being able to do these basics, before you worry about the guy who uses his hands.

I agree it’s baffling that these two don’t get a chance. Surely there comes a point where you sit down and think, this isn’t working, I have to change it and try and give us a chance. For what it’s worth I’m not sure he’s a lover of Brownhill either, just my opinion of course but I fear VK will move him on.

VK needs to have one of those moments when he realises he needs to shelve his pride just like Waddle did with Little and Sean did with Hart ,and play his best team and set up to grind out a few results.

Zaroury was the star boy last season and was the one who I’d have thought would suit the premier league more than the championship. His sending off was daft and set him back but surely he’s going to offer more than tresor who looks like Sunday league player so far. Mind boggling how he’s not starting games
