Masterstroke from the club
Masterstroke from the club
Thinking back, its absolute genius that they put all the tickets on sale for home games prior to the start of the season.
Theres no way we would be selling out games performing how we are.
The transient premier league fans must be fuming

Yes having a season ticket I appreciate the ease of buying away tickets too
We have definitely improved our sales method after some dire days previously

Re: Masterstroke from the club
It isn’t often a post is proven to be nonsense so quickly but since it was posted the Palace game has now sold out. There were plenty of seats left a week ago and a dozen or so yesterday.
I would now expect the Ticket Exchange seats to go on sale with some plum seats on offer, they will go to.
We have scored in virtually all games, there is good football on offer, our defending is a bit suspect but why would fans not want to attend?

I imagine because we’re basically conceding three a game at home and scoring one.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 1:40 pm

There is a lot of negativity around at the moment which can be frustrating but that’s just not true is it.

It’s a fair post. There will be some empty seats but the club already has the money.

Re: Masterstroke from the club
A lot of random business outlets and such have bought a lot of tickets - they give them away in competitions and all sorts and of course some seats are not filled (JHU near the match commentators for example)

8 out of 12 games so far including cups - the only clean sheets against us have been City, United, Brentford and Newcastle.Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 1:54 pmThere is a lot of negativity around at the moment which can be frustrating but that’s just not true is it.
I’d forgotten about Brentford when posting but the point is the same, we usually score and games are better than a dour 0-0 stalemate.
It seems clear to me why we are selling out every game including this Saturday.
The moaners, luckily a small minority, also forget that last year we had the drab QPR defeat, whacked at Bramall Lane, lost at Watford, pummelled at WBA but luckily got something, and had all those frustrating draws at the start. Everyone, in every league, has some poor games. I don’t think we are as far away as some think.

I'd take 38 dour 0-0s all season if it means we don't have to see the absolute shambles against Brentford and Bournemouth again. "We usually score" Wow operation lower expectations as been successful I see.
Bloody hell now I know we score a few I feel much better about sailing through the trap door into the league below. This kind of rubbish is just as bad as the "moaners".

I loved some of those smash and grab wins. Barnes penalty at Anfield during Covid is stuff of legends.

I would never take 38 0-0s. Football is about entertainment, even if it is as miniscule as me getting excited when Ashley Hoskin was running down the wing (whilst we got stuffed)boyyanno wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 4:21 pmI'll have what you're smoking.

I would rather have the prospect of watching a developing team (hopefully) pick up enough points in the season to stay up, whilst smash a few goals in. If it doesn't work, so be it - despite the results I look forward to match days now, unlike a couple of seasons ago.

Can you honestly say you’re looking forward to matchdays now more than 14/15 PL or 16/17 PL season?HitchinClaret wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 5:12 pmI would never take 38 0-0s. We have a worst goal per game ratio (that we score) and concede considerably more goals per game than that last season under Dyche haha.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 5:16 pmCan you honestly say you’re looking forward to matchdays now more than 14/15 PL or 16/17 PL season?

Re: Masterstroke from the club
I understand people being excited by optimism that we'll get a result and finally 'turn the corner' but there's a fair bit of toxic positivity I feel as well - no one can come off a game right now and go 'yep, we're getting there'Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 5:35 pmWe have a worst goal per game ratio (that we score) and concede considerably more goals per game than that last season under Dyche haha.

We are really poor right now and it cannot continue. It's that simple.
We conceded 53 goals for the entirity of the 21/22 season which we all agree was dross - we've already conceded 25 goals after just 10 games, on pace for conceding 95... That's abysmal no way anyone tries to spin it.
