The thought of the opposition fans singing “if you cant bang a woman bang your drum” to us is cringe worthy :D :D

Wrong. For tickets purchased by supporters clubs, people have to have the required points, just the same as everyone else.
Without going through the whole thing again - that would mean some people attending matches before they were born to be able to gather the required amount of points. I’ve previously contacted the club about this and they are aware of the issue.
I’m not against supporters groups, far from it, they do a lot of good but there have certainly been issues regarding tickets.

Thank you for this.

It didn’t happen though so who said it and when did they say it? Did they actually get sorted out?
Of course it's happened, the editor of this site has offered to do it on occasions, and has come back with the result of the enquiry, which I guess was very helpful to the person raising the issue.

I must admit iam getting bored with this now, you seem to think everything that's being said is wrong. Let's just leave it.

I think the use of the word group in this context doesn't necessarily mean official supporters groups.

There are certainly WhatsApp groups and similar who will purchase tickets for people who have the correct points, but are not going to the game, those tickets are then used by people who don't have the points.
It's nothing new, groups of friends have done it for years, just nowadays it's done online
Well just hang on, if that’s the case, it could be one of quite literally hundreds of WhatsApp groups that no doubt exist. You’ve clearly pinned this on the supporters groups and that’s not on. BFCSG have done so much down the years, asking the club for support with initiatives such as player boards around the ground, starting a matchday foodbank collection etc… both of which, you might note, have been withdrawn by the current leadership. If there was one criticism, it probably required more younger members, as CT has already suggested. Dodgy allocations though? It just didn’t happen, nor would it have been allowed to happen.

Get bored all you like. You made a factually incorrect remark; semi-changed your story regarding what you had initially said but then no retraction… if your original stance against the supporters groups. Best wishes.

Hang on....it wasn't me who raised this issue, and that was my only post on the matter, clearly separating the official supporters groups away from the issue, I haven't as you accuse pinned it on the supporters groups, and find it quite offensive you jump on me in this way

I think you need to aim your anger elsewhere

I don’t claim to be a solicitor, but this appears that you are referring to members of the Burnley Football Club Supporters Groups….

Genuine question but how did the 28 Spanish lads get the required points?

Or are you saying just someone at the supporters club needs the points? If so, is that not the issue?

You don’t need any points to get a ticket for a home game

What in anyone's name has that got to do with the allocation of tickets, which was the post you jumped on accusing me of pinning it on the supporters groups, when in fact I was distancing them away from the issue....my only post on that issue, and a completely different issue than the posts you have copied which deals with nothing to do with tickets

Wrong. To get to 2000 points you only need to have had a ST for the past 5 years and have attended an average of 5 away games/home cup games per season during that period. A 10 year old could have done that!

Discussed at length on this board. If a group of supporters claim tickets for that group for a game that requires x number of points, it’s highly unlikely that everyone in that group, not to mention their children, mates etc will all have that number of points.
First you use the word dodgy and now this - you are way, way, way out of order on this one.

Points aren't required for home games. The Club provided the tickets (as they do for many visiting groups eg Helmond lads, visiting boys football teams etc.) And no-one was awarded any points!

I represented West Yorkshire Clarets at meetings along with CT. In WYC there are just under 100 members. I have zero control over tickets for them. There are literally hundreds and hundreds of members of supporters groups but those groups are represented by about 16-20 people. Where tickets are concerned, all of them behaved properly and in accordance with ticketing rules. I’m slightly concerned that you perhaps don’t know about constitution and are possibly mixing up BFCSG with random members of a supporters group? I mean this seriously, not flippantly. Best wishes.

Thanks for the response I was actually curious, I haven't had to buy a home ticket for some time with season tickets, I thought if booking in advance you still needed points and then later down the line it was released to general sale. Glad to hear the club do this for visitors like this imo.

I think what Salisbury is alluding to (and doing so very badly) is that there will be a number of fans who go on pretty much every game on the supporters coaches and regardless of whether they can make it they will buy a ticket and get the points allocated for it.

For the odd game they cant make the people who run the coaches will sell that ticket on to someone who potentially might not have the points (I have got a ticket twice like this for Reading Away in the play offs and Man Utd away one season).

Its worth noting that pretty much every game bar the odd one gets to general sale or well below what was the 6000 point threshold so I dont think this really negative impacts anyone and lets face it these are the people who probably go to 36 or 37 out of 38 games a season and travel to all the early round cup games.

I dont think this is a problem and something to worry about or accuse people of being dodgy but if we did look at it purely from what the rules are surrounding this someone shouldn't be buying a ticket in their name and then selling it on to someone else so in that sense you could say facilitating this practice was dodgy as its not strictly in line with the rules.

I think the tone Salisbury used and what he was trying to accuse people of completely takes things out of context and makes what is likely an everyday practice across all football clubs which doesn't really negatively impact anyone into something much more sinister and wrong.

Unfortunately ‘supporters groups’ is a bit of a catch all term. Obviously there are good and bad and different drivers for belonging to some of these groups. Given the lack of respect from the club for BFCSG and their aims, it’s likely that some of the “bad” groups and their actions have affected the perspective of the term supporters group. As I’ve mentioned, I’m not against the groups but there is certainly a credibility issue, whether justified or not

If you attended every home and away game including cup games for the last 5 seasons, you probably still wouldn't have reached 4,000 points. Maybe points for friendlies would have taken you up there? It would be a stretch.

6,000 points is impossible. It would involve a season ticket plus 43 other games as a minimum each year. We don't play enough games.

In my experience the majority of supporters clubs/ groups are simply fans who want to appear ‘important’ rather than actually help. The owners have to make the decisions. Supporters will soon vote with their feet and wallets if they don’t like what the owners do. By all means put out surveys and listen to what the majority of fans want but don’t just listen to the few ( groupies) who claim to represent the many.

Hi there,

Could I ask you to possibly clarify this remark, possibly by providing a couple of examples. I have nothing but positive words to report, in terms of feedback for the way that BFCSG conduct themselves in and around the club… for the hours, they have spent in meetings, liaising with important bodies to ensure better outcomes for supporters, as well as promoting initiatives, such as the player boards, Q&A evenings and end of year awards evening , and of course, matchday foodbank collections… Believe me, standing for two hours in the snow or pouring rain, next to a wheelie bin, is definitely not done to look important.

The only way people who don't have enough points is if someone gives them there card like i did who have a lot of points and they can go and get a ticket for away ticket and that was also the case when i was a member of Burnley supporters club .

In your world a supporters group ticket has never knowingly passed into the wrong hands. There has been no involvement of any kind,

Maybe this kind of intransigent attitude is one of the reasons why the club won’t engage with supporters groups in the way you’d like

In your world a supporters group ticket has never knowingly passed into the wrong hands. There has been no involvement of any kind,

Maybe this kind of intransigent attitude is one of the reasons why the club won’t engage with supporters groups in the way you’d like
And maybe you are just trying to cause an argument because you have offered absolutely no evidence whatsoever for your wild theories. Sorry, but you are way, way out of order.

He's not even found a molehill from what I can see - just someone wanting to accuse supporters clubs, people who have worked hard and tirelessly over the years for the club and supporters.

Sorry if I'm being ignorant but there's no such thing as a supporters group ticket is there?

Besides, if anyone can point out a fixture they wanted to go to but couldn't in recent memory that wasn't at Ewood Park last season, it might be worth worrying about but until then...

I know what he’s trying to accuse folk of and as said a little further up, I’ve also had the odd ticket here and there but these are just spares that crop up that secures a coach space, I can’t understand why some folk let that annoy them so much.

I’ve also had tickets off players previously, is this also a crime as I wouldn’t have been able to get one otherwise?

Accy Clarets have 28 Spanish lads coming over this weekend for the Palace game. They'll all be sat(stood) together in the Longside Lower, close to the tunnel Maybe they can help get the atmosphere going!
brilliant !! :)

You were complaining about the club dismissing the thoughts of the supporters groups. I suggested one reason why your credibility was low.

I am not someone who wants to accuse those who work hard behind the scenes for the good of the club. You have no evidence for this and accusing those who have supported the work done by supporter groups is poor. You don't have a monopoly on working hard for the club. Plenty of us do it. Let's move on.

And for 4000 points, 6000 points?
There’s a few people that will be around 3000 points now

Basically
If you’ve had a season ticket over the last 5 years
And
Have been on a few away games each season then you’ll have enough points to qualify for a few away games this season

If you’ve been on quite a few away every season you’ll qualify for quite a few this season

If you go on most, virtually all or all
Then you qualify for most, virtually all or all

You were the one doing the accusing - now you want to move on because you have no argument and no evidence. You have made totally unacceptable comments and then when found out you want to move on.

And for your information, I never said that I or supporters groups had any monopoly, what I said was that they have done a hell of a lot supporting the club and fans.

The majority of them support a small Spanish 3rd division club, Teruel, but some of them are Barcelona fans.
