No drum and safe standing areas. Doesn’t exactly say no drum but thankfully doesn’t mention one.

Re: Club update following supporter feedback
I’m assuming that the PA system will be working order with suitable sound levels for the “newly improved music playlist”
Re: Club update following supporter feedback
Hopefully they stop playing loud music right up to ko time, which doesn't allow fans to create any pre-match noise/atmosphere.

Re: Club update following supporter feedback
Given they haven’t had a FAB meeting since early last month and given the safety advisory group meeting is next week, I wouldn’t read too much into that piece from the club. Do they really understand is the question I keep asking given last week’s patronising email and now this.

As I'm seeing this - they've asked a question. They've got some feedback. They've listened. They've responded.
Exactly what I'd hope they be doing.

I think it’s a desperate, shame that all of the supporters groups and their collective body, BFCSG, were in effect, completely dismissed and silenced, despite years and years of hard work, linking club to fan (many). What has become strikingly more apparent is just how far off the ‘Burnley Page’ the people involved seem to now be.

Re: Club update following supporter feedback
Might be controversial but I think it’s time to do away with ‘Heroes’ and ‘Times Like These’ and a change brought in. Just hope it’s not the run of the mill ‘Freed From Desire’ etc that everyone seems to play.
Re: Club update following supporter feedback
Did they not involve more fans this way by emailing them, instead of just the fans groups?jdrobbo wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 6:33 pmI think it’s a desperate, shame that all of the supporters groups and their collective body, BFCSG, were in effect, completely dismissed and silenced, despite years and years of hard work, linking club to fan (many). I’m not sure the powers that be really ‘get it’, but they certainly listen to the social media noise from the fans which I guess is a good thing.

Re: Club update following supporter feedback
Basically in the same article as the possible drum being introduced it said Kompany wants a better atmosphere at Turf Moor but no direct link between Kompany wanting a better atmosphere and Kompany specifically asking for a drum.
Someone is adding 2+2 and getting 5.

it doesn't say anything about having meetings. It says following feedback, we know they monitor socials, we know they read direct messaging too.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 6:11 pmGiven they haven’t had a FAB meeting since early last month and given the safety advisory group meeting is next week, I wouldn’t read too much into that piece from the club. I've certainly been asked for my views, either by email or social media than under any other ownership, and more than any fan group has ever done.

Can’t really knock the club on this one. We had years of fans moaning about the lack of communication from previous boards and now we have moaning when they try to take on ideas after acting on feedback.

I think it also shows that fan groups / committees etc have had their day, in the modern world the club can communicate direct with fans and get a wider range of views.Steve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 7:30 pmCan’t really knock the club on this one. VK seemed to distance himself from the drum idea in a recent interview.
Re: Club update following supporter feedback
The club seemed to be pretty lose lose on that email to supporters.
There was an advert for a drummer and loads of people complained they'd not been consulted and then the club sent an email out and loads of people complained about that.

Re: Club update following supporter feedback
Is it Kompany that wants them? If so, they should’ve said and explained what they hoped to achieve via their introduction and it may have received a better response.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 6:12 pmDrums still wouldn’t surprise me given who it is that wants it but mercifully no mention.
FWIW prior to this debate I could not’ve been more opposed to a drum. Doubt you’d have found anyone more against them. My son however was more open minded and having watched a video of the team that played Liverpool this week using one walking through Liverpool and watching a European game at the weekend, I think they may have use in very limited circumstances/parts of the ground/game.
Re: Club update following supporter feedback
I actually prefer the fact that they've not just asked supporter's clubs, but everyone. Supporter's clubs are not really reflective of the modern fan.
And yes Kompany wants a drum

What’s particularly exciting for me is that they’re making these changes quickly. I think they’ve delayed so long on safe standing, their position in regard to the standers in the lower longside and also to complain about atmosphere was on pretty shaky ground, but they now seem to be getting stuff sorted.
Whilst some will understandably complain about the badly worded email & rightly so, I do think that the need to generate a better atmosphere is a problem that needed to be faced in to and acted upon by the club so big respect to them for that.
Re: Club update following supporter feedback
How have they asked everyone? I don't know anyone who's been asked.

Re: Club update following supporter feedback
I could’ve got more behind it in that case.
I think they could have a role in creating an atmosphere, just maybe not in the ground or with very selective use.

Re: Club update following supporter feedback
Last week my son and I were fortunate to watch PSG v AC Milan.
The atmosphere was incredible. Pyros fireworks flags and drums. ACMilan Ultras also employed 3 guys with mega phones. The atmosphere never dropped throughout 90 mins.
AC Milan were 3 down but still the songs rang out.
Would love the turf to have something similar drum or no drum

Re: Club update following supporter feedback
How much difference is safe standing going to make? It’ll probably be in the cricket field stand….where everyone already stands. Pointless.
And generally they stand with their mates and not in their allocated seat which then makes that section of the ground look half full.
Would be better having the whole cricket field end for home fans and shove away fans down the side near the tunnel or having safe standing in one or both of the lower tiers.

Credit where due, listened and a very welcome set of albeit minor things apart from safe standing. Nothing that should worsen things.
If we all stick together, one club for all, we have a chance to thrive.

Re: Club update following supporter feedback
Seems positive from the club. They are clearly wanting to listen to a broader number of supporters. If there are gaps in their mailing list they need to look at resolving that, but they deserve credit for the intentions to consult wider and acting on the feedback they've received.
Re: Club update following supporter feedback
The first thing they should address is the really poor quality sound system throughout the ground. It’s been absolutely awful for years.

Seems like the club is trying to help improve things for those who attend matches but it would be nice for them to also think about the fans who watch the game on TV. I thought the drum was an excellent idea and I think it would have really enhanced the viewing experience for us armchair supporters but a bit of whinging from the so called "proper fans" and the club chicken out.

Agree that in England the atmospheres are not a patch on Europe and they put us to shame in the way they support throughout regardless of scoreline.
I think drums are tinpot and annoying but to your point, may have a place in creating a better atmosphere.

Re: Club update following supporter feedback
We were told that this was being addressed…it’s as bad as it’s been for well over a decade. It’s the simple things that are missing…
The player boards outside the ground not restored
Reasonably priced refreshments served quickly and to a good standard.
Being trusted to behave like an adult rather than being told either by screen or microphone, 20-30 times during a game what we are not allowed to do.
Having an MC who respectfully calls out the opposition names rather than deliberately mumbles.
It’s these things that create a foundation for a better matchday experience and atmosphere….assuming that the team are also doing their bit too.

I was saying they've involved the supporters by emailing them, not just involving the fans club, perhaps not worded the best way, but not sure it deserves the laughing faces

They asked on the socials for certain. They are never going to be in a position to ask everyone imho, and even if they did how long do they wait for a response ? A week, a month ? There is no ideal scenario here
