We don’t seem to be learning from the same mistakes time and time again. Never bodes well for a manager.

Cullen was on Tarks at the back post. Loved watching Cullen play last season but he’s really struggled with the step up.

Defensive mix up with AAD and o’shea to begin with. O’Shea backed off for some reason then panicked. Have to deal with these situations. Back line is horrific

Why are we not trying to stop Tarkowski winning headers with a player his size? Are our management so blind they ignore the obvious?

AAD weak as **** to concede the corner and they score from it. AWOL defending but looked like Muric was being held on the line.
Muric was being held/fouled, but he needs to be stronger - he’s a big unit - use it

It’s why zone marking is stupid. Dyche will have picked up on that.

That’s how you end up with Cullen on Tarky

The players must be told to setup zonally. As a professional footballer you can’t leave 3 people unmarked if you are going man for man.

This is coaching, has to be.

Why the f.ck was Cullen marking Tarkowski at the back post? That is poor tactics and planning and simply should not happen. You have to blame the coaching team for that.

It doesn’t matter who we have in net. We will still concede a shed load this season

Any system that leaves Cullen to defend a header against Tarks at the back post needs some work to say the least. Our defending of set pieces is appalling.

AAD is so weak , he hasn't won one header and gets brushed off the ball so easily . Who's decision is it to have midget Cullen mark tarks at a corner ??

I’ll take the positives from tonight in that I think, hope, Kompany has seen enough in some obvious players here (Muric, Delcroix, Redmond, JBL). We need Beyer and Ekdal back ASAP though, and Foster for that matter.

Sadly I think we’re about to fall to bits again tonight, the old head drop has emerged again.

How are we ever going to even draw a game of football?

If anything, they’re sticking Tarky where we are weak

Was worried about this in the summer and said it a couple times now he reminds me of David Jones just with a bit more pressing. Great tempo setting midfielder who can pull strings in the championship, hugely struggles to step up and neutered in the Prem.

Better at what ClaretAl?

We are 60 minutes into the game and we haven’t had a shot on target and could easily be 3 or four down

I know we zonal mark, but we know what the Everton tactic would be from set pieces. It's insane to have Cullen being the man to cover that back stick area when we know exactly what the plan is.

Zonal marking just doesn't work.
