We've hit rock bottom, the only way is up.

Baby....ok get the link to the song out of the way.
I'm convinced that's it massive lessons learnt, players encouraged to be brave, get stuck in, show what you can do, crowd really up for it from the first minute, one team will cop for the built up frustration and that team will be Palace tomorrow, it might not be the glorious play of last season but it will be a win and that's all that matters.

I somehow don’t think ‘rock bottom’ is playing in the PL but it’s one almighty contrast to the highs of last season.

It’s more the equivalent of going to sleep on holiday after a Michelin star meal, spa day/full body massage etc to someone throwing a bucket of ice cold water over your head to wake you up- only for you to also have a humongous throbbing hangover and general confusion about what the hell is going on?

Only issue is that it's a (as it stands) a 3/4 month hangover...

We aren't even rock bottom of the league we are in.

Yeah it's crap and yeah we are struggling but I think Sheffield are worse :)

As a bare minimum, I expect to see some spine tomorrow with everyone at least putting in a serious shift, making the tackles and headers that hurt, and at least try to attack with a bit more purpose than simply passing back and sideways! If they aren’t fired up by the absolute s**tshow of the last 3 games, including the Everton shambles, then I don’t know what will!

Oh yes, that and stop giving the feckin ball away in your own half which should have been a lesson learned when you were 12!!

The only way is up was a hit for Yazz in 1988 the season after Orient game. That was our rock bottom and Yazz knew it.....

Rock bottom yes. Will we get better - no . I just can’t see the leadership, physicality or mind set from this group to be up for the fight

If the coaches and VK played all the mistakes back to the team made when conceding goals, in particular set pieces, and gave the team clear instructions on how they could have been handled better, then if the players respond positively that would be a great start and lift for tomorrow. In just the last 3 games 5 very silly mistakes from the 8 conceded.

Rock bottom was a UFO track. The track before was "lights out", which, I suppose, is one way of looking at our 2022/3 performances.

If it follows that trend then we'll be OK 2024/5 with "too hot to handle". Probably go up again next year

Next track for 2025/6 is "I'm a loser" though.

Brilliant, exactly what I thought of.

And then the Spinal Tap version, 'Big Bottom'..

'Lights Out' is a fine body of work.

Rock bottom despite being 2 pts off safety with everyone below Chelsea still to come to us.
It’s one perspective I suppose.
I prefer the “we’ll be fine after the injury crisis eases”. We couldn’t have predicted losing 2 major CBs and our main striker for a lot of the games.

I don't think we have hit rock bottom unless we get beat by Palace at home tomorrow. This is the first ' winnable' game of the season at home and whilst going into it in poor form isn't filling anyone with confidence it's a game we have to get a result in to start turning things around.
I'm hanging my coat on Beyer returning to the defence and a more physical midfield presence than Cullen as being the difference.
It's more of a hope than belief

I don't think we're quite rock bottom yet but we could be
if we lose our next 2 or 3 games. And even then there could be
one team (Sheff. United) still below us.
We are sinking. That may be closer to the truth.

At present it's difficult to see us getting a point never mind 3.

I hope that we can turn it around but that may well be
a few weeks/months away and, if it happens hopefully not too late.

Just how wrong can you be ? I try my best to be optimistic and look for positives but that was a twitch from a corpse.
