The only frustration for me is we've spent all this money and we're worse than last year. Just have to remain hopeful these young lads come good in the next year or two.

List our first 6 home games in top flight. Only team to do that. What a record to own. Maybe for ever

The most typical Roy Hodgson 2-0 away win you’ll ever ever get.

The defending is so so bad I just don’t get what Kompany does on the training ground. I am sure he doesn’t drill the defence now.

O'Shea has been abysmal today.

Not been as poor as previous games on the whole but pretty damning.
Don't talk rubbish. He's beem OK. Mostly good but gave the 2nd away.

Not rubbish, he's looked very poor. THB leagues ahead of him.

He's given the ball away on half a dozen occasions absolutely killing any forward momentum, one occasion leading to their second goal.

Well, we did play better today, although Palace obviously came to sit back, soak up pressure and counter which allowed us plenty of the ball.
Sadly, we’re just not doing enough going forward and we are very poor at the back……this is not a good combination as obvious as that sounds!

The game certainly isn’t on Trafford not suggesting that at all before someone fires me down

But can someone tell me on save he’s made that’s kept us in a game this year? A save that you think ‘yep top class’

A save that Nick Pope or Heaton has made in the past to keep us alive. Anything

Strangest transfer of all time for us.

Lost with 67% possession 17 shots 5 on target 12 corners
Palace 33% possession 4 shots 3 on target 1 corner
Yet again possession no end product but at least we hit the target 5 times
This is a game we needed to win to allow us a chance to stay up
palace is a team we need to get pints from

Only reason he should keep his job after that is that he’s forced us into such a corner with those signings (who tf is getting a win out of them) that we don’t have an alternative
£100m spend
Sacked off the scouts for his analytics firm
We've bet the ranch on Vincent Kompany 100%. No alternative option now.

Absolutely that.

Compare our squad last season to Leeds and Leicester this who have retained far more of their PL squad players not needing loads of loan signings who may (or may not) sign permanently.

We just can't score, Foster excepted.
However (from commentary) it seems that we put maximum effort in, dispelling the somewhat naughty suggestions that VK has lost the dressing room and that players are not trying.
Perhaps those on here who are loving this poor run would do better keeping their emotions in check.

Contrary to everything on here. I thought we did okay today. We created chances and looked the better team. It just didn't happen for us.

Beyer made a difference and it's a shame that mistake cost us.

The table doesn't lie - we have only 4 points after 11 games. Sorry but that's relegation form.
Hope the Board don't panic and give VK another chance next season.

People calling this an improved performance are living in a world of their own.

Could play until the middle of next week and wouldn’t score.

Jay Rod is finished at this level should have kept Barnes instead. Big mistake letting him go now we don’t have anyone else to play up top.

Have to wonder why. Is it the pace/pressure of the league or trust in teammates to receive the ball?

Nah. Which level did you play at? He was OK.

You can't criticise hm too heavily today. He gave them the 2nd goal but that's just a desperation clearance when chasing the game with seconds left.

I’d have given two years , been a great servant alas that ship has sailed but I think if he comes on at 70 minutes today we would have at least drawn the game and not just let them beat us so easily. No fight left in this bunch.

We were definitely better, though. We clearly need Beyer and Foster playing every game to stand a chance.

🤷‍♂️ I think terrible is harsh.

The second goal is one of them - we were chasing the game with 90 seconds left and he tried to keep it in play, we got stung.

He was better than his partner was today that’s for sure

Facts

We lost to the worst team to visit the turf this year
We set a new record of the only premier league team to lose their first 6 home games.
We never looked like scoring despite domination. (It’s what you do with it that counts )
We never addressed the recruitment needed in the summer forward / centre half / centre mid

Probabilties

We will get better
We will get relegated
We may challenge derbys lowest points record.

Optimism

I am appreciating the philosophy of how we are trying to play - its going to take time
The players signed on the whole , if we have to sell may brake even , some will lose.

Negatives.

We keep making basic mistakes at a football level
Our set pieces are truly atrocious.

Final thought

Up the clarets
Burnley till i die
You cant have the highs without the lows
Time for a glass of wine

I wish all a good night , because the day was dissapointing..
