You make a fair point, DA. One summer's spending doesn't make a team, but we already had a team, and one that pi$$ed the league and was literally 8pts or something away from being the best Championship team in the history of English football, and all this after about four weeks of pi$$ing about experimenting with fringe players to see what they've got. That team last season was so bloody good that they had a head start on 99% of all other promoted teams, and then we chucked (or spunked) £100m on it to take us to the next level, and while I get what you mean about a team taking a while to build over multiple seasons, I dunno, we're fking $hit and I don't know what else to say. I dunno how any of it can be waived away. I don't think your implied argument that we somehow didn't spend enough to be competitive carries any weight. The team that got promoted and was built on a fraction of a cost would beat this one over a season, I just know it.
So much this.

If we woudn't have experimented at the end to see what we had in Twine and a few others / system change I think we could've beat or equalled that record (we were 5 points off equalling it btw).

Many said in summer that choosing to not keep it and to make whole sale changes was extremely risky and that we couldn't afford to take another 15 games or so to really click.

It has been a monumental cock up. We'd have come into this year flying, with unity throughout the team and support - guarenteed. We have f***ed it

Im not waiving it away. I think we started as the 18th best side in this division but with the money we've spent and the management we'd seen last season we could expect to finish 15th or 16th.

What I object to is people acting like the £100m we've spent is something extraordinary and that us struggling is unacceptable when we are practical a new team to that which came down and making the leap from top Championship side to Premier League side is quite hard.

Disappointment and concern about underachievement is fair but the extreme criticism like the last 6 months have been a complete disaster and failure is both way over the top and still somewhat premature

All humans make mistakes I’d prefer no apology & no repeat mistakes or less of them that’d mean more, he did make a mistake but it wasn’t as if no time was left in the game for some sort of a recovery to be staged.
Only you could find fault in a player displaying a human reaction, something that may well be an alien concept to you considering past contributions to the message board, admittedly.

All I’m interested in is actions rather than words because it’s more powerful & convincing to me.

Could you practice what you preach and not post any words then? Cheers.

It's a shame you don't follow this mantra.

We all know that if Jordan had posted some philistine Instagram-philosophy cryptic bull$hit like "actions speak louder than words" with a nonsense photo of himself with his hands in a prayer position or some similar such b0lloks, Jakub, being the tedious and inveterate contrarian that he is, would've demanded a written apology personally addressed to him delivered by Royal Mail Special Signed Delivery before he gave an inch to a player for making a mistake, and would've insisted upon the significance of the spoken word.

I'd love if he were still playing for us tbh. I know him not being offered a contract was fairly divisive with some thinking it was the right decision and others not, but personally speaking I was only being half-sentimental in thinking he could be helpful for us in the first year back. Barnes could always carve out 10 minutes of a game all to himself where he'd single-handedly have the ref and the opponent in his pocket just by shithousing.
Miss the man so much!

Brady £15m
Hendrick £11m
Defour £8m
Westwood £5.5m
JBG £3m
Pope £1m

Ave cost per player 1st season in Prem League under Dyche - 2.5m
Ave Cost per player this summer - £8.7m
We signed Brady in the January window.

So in reality Dyche spent 20m in the summer window. VK spent 120m wasn’t it

Make sure you learn from your mistakes - think about what you're doing.
