Caps off a rubbish weekend. Norwich in awful form.

Though they are down to ten now so who knows…

Think Norwich are hampered by injuries. No Barnes, and I think Sargent too. Shame cos they started the season so well.

Norwich are a great example of sacking a manager, losing their identity and now ending up in no man’s land, with an unhappy fanbase, empty stadium, ageing players and parachute payments running out. I hope we don’t follow paths.

You must’ve watched a different game to me.

Rovers attacked well, with purpose and precision, but the defending from Norwich was abysmal. And they’re attacking even worse. They tore rovers open several times and then wasted the chance.

To me Rovers looked okay going forward but very shaky at the back.

Forest on 10 points before today…and only 2 wins above us - they are similar to Everton and need to lose games against the likes of Villa for us to be able to catch them!

Call me on you Villa!

I do like watching Forest when they play at home. The crowd is usually well up for it and the speed at which Forest break is excellent.

Can’t believe this is the same Villa that ripped us to pieces. Martinez shocker for second goal. Forest keeper looks commanding !!

It's the same Villa that ripped Everton, Palace, West Ham, Luton and especially Brighton to pieces too. Fortunately, teams don't always play to the same level every game.

After Forest looked totally out of their depth at the beginning of last season, it’s amazing to see them now looking really good.

I’d love Burnley to end up doing similar.

They have dramatically changed their system from the start of last season.

We will have to do similar if we want similar returns

Because they are a bigger club with a better team. They've looked very impressive so far this season and under Emery over the last year. His win % is excellent.

I think it’s fair to give forest some sort of credit that they haven’t allowed themselves to be ripped into pieces & made villa look gash.

I’ve been impressed with forest throughout the season & I don’t think they’ll be relegation contenders like some people thought they would be.

Almost impossible to see beyond the obvious four for the relegation contenders

Therefore begs the question as to why we couldn't use the good performance and tactics against Forest in other matches, as we were the better team and deserved all three points.

I believe they began last season playing quite an open and attacking 3412 formation, carrying it forward from their successful promotion season.

After a heavy loss at Leicester I think it was, they switched to a very back to basics 433 (with 3 defensive mids) which seemed to stem the tide of defeats and they built from there.

They really haven’t changed much at all. Players, and manager, took time to gel and adapt, not much more to it. Don’t forget they were very much in the relegation mix with 3 games to spare.

They changed personal and tactically changed from a 3 at the back system to a 433.

They had a dramatic change in form and survived comfortably.

For example there team first quarter of the season set up like this:

Henderson
Boly, cook, McKenna
Williams, Yates, Freuler, Lodi
Gibbs white
Johnson, Awoniyi

The first time they changed to a back four was a heavy loss against Leicester, but it was that system change that kept them up. The game after Leicester they set up like this:

Henderson
Aurier, cook, McKenna, Toffolo
Yates, Freuler, Kouyate
Johnson, Dennis, Gibbswhite

They ended up getting 6 points from their next five games including a win against Liverpool.

As I said, just look back at their fixtures from Leicester onwards. The various match reports (BBC, PL website etc) show most games as being a back four.

They definitely changed, and that was the original point made.

Can you please explain how they changed ' dramatically'. Personnel I understand but I'm more concerned with their tactical approach that brought about a change in their fortunes. Looking forward to your reply.

Luton a frustrating Liverpool looking organised whilst not creating much themselves

Just need Liverpool to turn it up a bit and get ahead else I could see Town with a scabby 90+6 winner

Luton frustrating Liverpool. They don’t seem to have as much ability as us but they seem to have a better understanding of what they are/aren’t good at, and what their game plan is.
