The sort of player we need in centre midfield who can drive forward with ball.

If Luton can keep him fit he will make a huge difference to their season.

An experienced pro serving up the goods. Most of us knew we needed PL experience and some quality in the middle of the pitch.

Not upset that we didn't sign Barclay.
Not upset that we didn't sign Townsend.

I'm not sure either of them are what we are lacking. We have a million attacking players.

Neither is a leader. Neither are intelligent ball winning combatants.

Not sure adding Barkley or Townsend to the squad would improve us at all.

This is not the type of player we are lacking.

Not sure he’s any better than Berge

Barkley?
He’ll do a bit for a short while and then drift off again
He does it every season pretty much, that’s why he’s at Luton and not a bigger club

Barkley would have been very, very risky owing to his injury record. He is however a big fish in a small club like Luton, with a manager who impresses me more and more every time I listen to him. Edwards will be heaping huge praise on him tonight, something he has not experienced for years Having said that, if Berge had gone to Luton I am certain he would have a huge impact too as he would not be playing for a manager who tinkers big style with the starting 11

People have one good game, and suddenly they're brilliant.
The problem with Barkley, as with most footballers, is consistency. He is no better than what we've got

I’m absolutely convinced that we have so many better attacking midfielders than Ross Barkley it’s just getting them to show it. I had even forgotten he was at Luton people getting carried away by one steady performance.

Barkley is being used as a holding midfielder for Luton, he would have done well in our team

Barkley has had a fantastic career to date at the top level, as well as 30 odd England caps!

Our lot have a long way to go yet…

He sat in front of the back 4 yesterday.

Have to say I thought he was excellent yesterday for Luton but much will depend on whether he can find any consistency.
