BURNLEY MOVE FOR NYAMSINewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 4:13 pmBurnley looking to secure a deal for Nyamsi from Strasbourg
Telegraph
Burnley are looking at a deal for Strasbourg centre-back Gerzino Nyamsi as Vincent Kompany looks to strengthen his back line for the club’s Premier League survival bid.
Nyamsi, 26, started in every Ligue 1 match this season until December when he was struck by an abdominal injury.
With Patrick Vieira, the Strasbourg manager, using cover at centre-back during Nyamsi’s absence, a decision is set to be made on whether he is allowed out on loan from the rest of the campaign.
But Kompany would face competition from his old club Anderlecht, who have also shown firm interest in the former French youth international player.

Can’t understand us signing another cb unless Ekdal or al-dakhil are leaving
Re: January transfer window rumours.
Have you not watched us this season? The whole spine of the side is weak. Absolutely could do with a centre back of the profile this fella has.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 5:15 pmCan’t understand us signing another cb unless Ekdal or al-dakhil are leaving

Ekdal is never fit. Needs replacing plus can’t rely on Beyer staying fit either.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 5:15 pmCan’t understand us signing another cb unless Ekdal or al-dakhil are leaving

Re: January transfer window rumours.
6 foot 5 beast of a player and maybe Ekdals (and beyers?) injury worries mean he can’t be counted on this season. I’d love aad to get games on loan at a good level, think it’ll do him good.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 5:15 pmCan’t understand us signing another cb unless Ekdal or al-dakhil are leaving

I saw Darko on Monday waiting for an Uber near the Lodge on Burnley Road/Stockbridge Drive and was suprised he had walked there from the training ground.
I had a quick chat and noticed he had one of Zaroury's shirts in his hand. That got me wondering if he was going....
Re: January transfer window rumours.
Targeting 2x 6 foot 4+ players in the spine is encouraging.
Hopefully could mean Beyer gets a run at right back.

Ekdal has struggled with fitness since we got him. With Beyer also out we need someone else.
Good to see us looking at tall players too.

Arrived with and then played with an injury his first spell of games. Could be some player when (and if) 100% fit.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 5:42 pmEkdal has struggled with fitness since we got him. With Beyer also out we need someone else.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
If you put these two (well, assuming they’re any good!) into our team we look a different specimen physically. Brownhill has done OK alongside Berge, but I’d love to us go to a three in there at the expense of Amdouni. Agree with the shout further up on Beyer into right back too.

25 man squad is already full, just don’t see us singing another cb without one going out the door that’s all, the fact the spine is weak doesn’t mean anything about cb numbers

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Gueye should be a cheap deal, 6 months left on his contract and not wanting to sign a new one, couple of million should be enough rather than losing him for free
Re: January transfer window rumours.
Concerning Matkovic, the latest news in the Croatian media, is that he signed a long-term deal with his club Osijek end december. The last rumours in the Croatian media concerning Romano seem to date back to last year when he linked him with Everton, RB Salzburg and Sassuolo.
Re: January transfer window rumours.
Wouldn't have to be a cb who left.. Churlinov is on his way, sounds like Benson or Zaroury are off, so that's 2 spaces straight away.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 6:00 pm25 man squad is already full, just don’t see us singing another cb without one going out the door that’s all, the fact the spine is weak doesn’t mean anything about cb numbers

I think we'd do well to get a decent fee for Benson if we are not going to play him, but keep Zaroury (or a 1/2 season loan) as he has time to develop.

I see Sancho has gone back to Dortmund on loan. It got me thinking - who was the last player Utd signed who really improved whilst there? I don’t think there’s been many (if any) since Ferguson retired.

There are the making of a good player - at the moment though, barring the odd glimpse, he’s not really contributing enough.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 8:18 pmZeki Amoundi needs playing every game

Out of possession he doesn’t work as hard as perhaps he might and in possession, he can too often be guilty of overplaying, playing a poor pass or falling over himself.
He has a lot of learning to do and were a way short of working out how to get the most out of him.

In the tweet about Gueye it said Brentford are interested in left back Renen Lodi who was on loan at forest last season, I think he would be a good left back for us

I think it’s safe to say the performance of Bradley tonight for Liverpool and his cameo at the weekend against Arsenal compelled with Trent’s injury that there’s no chance of us singing him
Re: January transfer window rumours.
11 days into transfer window. Second bottom. One of the worst defences in premier league. Biggest game season tomorrow night. Not a whisper of a signing. I admire VK confidence.

Did you expect clubs to have made loads of signings already ? Was the Spurs signing the 1st of the window ?
This is why they would be better of making this window 1 week long, it is the same every year.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
I think you are spot on, but I really can't see him wanting to play in the Championship. I would be amazed if he didn't have a relegation release clause, I imagine similar for Tresor.FeedTheArf wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 9:01 pmIronically, a season tearing up the Championship would probably do him the world of good.
I also think our business will partially hinge on the outcome of tomorrow's match because if we lose that one, I think we can realistically kiss goodbye to our last hopes of remaining in the Prem. as, bar a miracle, I can't really see a way back. Alternatively we win that and I think there will be more belief all around and the break in matches to try and make things happen.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
I’d be amazed if he doesn’t have a relegation clause, but I’d hope that we’ve learnt from the Weghorst mess and made sure any relegation clause would still see us turning a profit. That said, the majority of our signings haven’t (yet) done much to convince other clubs to sign them at a profit so he might be stuck with us!burnleymik wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 9:10 amI think you are spot on, but I really can't see him wanting to play in the Championship. Going down anyway so I wouldn’t be signing anyone. Even with a couple of outgoings we should have a squad that can compete in the Championship. Whether we can win promotion again is debatable regardless of any signing.
