"Rennais" just means "from the town of Rennes".
You add normally add the suffic "-ais" to a noun in French to create an adjective. We could roverize this in English to say, for example, that Turf Moor was "Burnley-ais". I'm not sure if it would be "Burnleyais" or "Burnleyaise". I'm not sure why there isn't an e on the end of 'rennais' though. I'd need to ask somebody much better at French than I am.
I feel ****** just reading this and I haven't had a drink for 3 days!
I just know I'm from Accy!
Nice to know we have some educated intellects in our fan base tho.
Re: Lorenz Assignon
A woman from Rennes would be Rennaise- as would a pen (LA plume), a table (LA table) etc.Rowls wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 10:16 pmEvening Westleigh!

In the absence of specific gender reference, the masculine form applies.

Just seen Dan Sassi has gone out on loan to Rochdale from Blackpool.
Does anyone know roughly how much we sold him for?
