I didn't think that was a controversial post? Trafford is the weakest GK in the league and we concede from set pieces most weeks.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we’re going down regardless of whether we bin the set piece coach or drop Trafford.

Anyone Can see that the experiment to take a league 1 keeper and throw him into the premier league is a disaster.**** stopping yeh he’s ok,but is that not the minimum requirement for a keeper, any cross into the box and he is just useless doesn’t help having a back four that can’t even shield him because they are so weak.

He’s man of the match
It’s the defences fault
Its the fans fault
Nothing he could do with that
He’s a good keeper
No chance with those shots
Muric wouldn’t have done better

Re: Wake up and smell the coffee.
I also think this is true, but no team at any level should be conceding goals like that second one today. Arsenal will be laughing in the dressing room about scoring from there because it just doesn't happen in any league bar non league. And the knock on effect it has in totally knocking the stuffing out of the rest of the Burnley team who have fought so hard to drag themselves level against a top 2 side is the double whammy (as they say!)!

Face it, he was garbage again.
The early player ratings on here have been dishing out 3’s and 4’s.
Not good enough and you are as deluded as Vincent is if you think he should continue to start for us.

I've no great leaning towards either goalkeeper, my main gripe on here has been trying to point out that the goalkeeper is not the problem, whoever plays, but the muric lovers cannot see that....even though we didn't improve when he played.

Re: Wake up and smell the coffee.
At this stage it's honestly not about Trafford, it's about Kompany.
He's going to impair the lad's development if this keeps on, and it's poisoning the crowd too, which isn't going to do any wonders for atmosphere or home mentality. Not for a second saying the terraces should pick the team but it's beyond stubbornness this, it's an ostrich in the sand. Trafford WILL BE a very good goalkeeper if allowed to develop naturally. He's been thrown in too far at the deep end for pretty much any 21 year old keeper, is on double duty as shotstopper and creative sweeper, all while playing for a team naturally in a relegation battle where he's guaranteed to be exposed and pressured more than any other keeper except Luton's and maybe Sheffield's.
If Muric comes in and has a couple of mares, it changes nothing when we're getting pumped anyway. If anything it eases the pressure on Trafford.
If Muric comes in and we improve, brilliant, we're getting points, doing better, and Trafford's no longer expected to be the main man in the nets at 21 years old and is given more time to naturally adjust given he was playing 2 tiers below this just 6 months ago.
It's best for Muric, Trafford, the team, and the crowd, to rotate the keeper at this point. It's not the same context as the Joe Hart Moment but it's similar, it's all on 1 person to see it.

Re: Wake up and smell the coffee.
Strange how the first half of last season gets forgotten- lots of fans complaining about Muric not coming for crosses/ not being strong enough for a big lad etc.
Sounds familiar
VK put Roberts on the line to stop him being bullied and he improved rapidly after that.

We all want Trafford to do well, but he is poor at the minute and that's a fact. Granted he's not the only one who is poor but we have a replacement waiting in the wings. We are going down sticking with a GK who gets dominated on crosses like he does.

Re: Wake up and smell the coffee.
Lucky for me I completely missed the game today.
But I've just watched the highlights. My first observation is that Amdouni (good player up field) shouldn't be allowed in our penalty area under any circumstances.

We conceded a soft corner at Everton with Muric in the nets, I like Muric but are we gonna pretend Muric is great from corners? It’s his biggest weakness.

I genuinely believe Nori just comes on here to annoy posters by just arguing any point made.
I didn’t see the game today, luckily, but having read quite a bit on here, including the ratings, added to every other game I’ve seen this season. Muric has to be given a chance. He’s given everyone else a chance, barring striker for injuries, but not the GK.
If Trafford is in the line up against Sheff Utd, I’ll be seriously worried. They bullied Muric last season, and Trafford is a lot less imposing.

Re: Wake up and smell the coffee.
I’m one of the described “happy clappers” who has defended Trafford all season, but he needs taken out of the firing line. Too many fans are putting everything negative about our performances on him, whilst ignoring poor defending and the fact Muric isn’t Manuel Neuer, but if it stops the negative and toxic atmosphere and creates an environment for the team to grow, then it makes sense to give Muric a chance.

Re: Wake up and smell the coffee.
Did you expect Muric to mark Tarks as he peeled off at the back post and nobody bothered to go with him ?
Let’s just say it as it is.
That second goal today was absolutely shocking goal keeping.
Every player needs the benefit of making a few mistakes - especially in the style we play. But allowing a player to stand next to you and head the ball in when you have the advantage of being able to use your hands is indefensible. It’s got nothing to do with our style of play and it’s got very little to do with Arsenal being good at set pieces either. It’s the most basic of requirements for a keeper.
I kind of agree that Muric is also pretty poor at commanding his area and coming for crosses. But if Muric made the mistake that Trafford did today then I would expect Muric to be dropped too. And the reason Saliba stood where he did was very clearly because it’s not the first time it’s happened this season.
Not sure you can blame a defensive or set piece coach either….nobody is coaching Trafford to do that.
