60 Years today....

Post by BurnleyMickSouth » Wed Nov 22, 2023 12:13 pm

Afternoon All,
For those not in the know its 60 yrs today that President Kennedy was Assassinated in Dallas Texas, i was only seven at the time but remember it being on tv in a newsflash, my mum and dad were very upset at the news, a good man that wanted to help the less fortunate, i watched a documentary last night recorded it last week and it still says that Kennedy was shot from the Grassy Knowll, it showed all the doctors who attended Parklands hospital they were ALL adamant that the back of the Presidents head was missing, (mass Goverment cover up) but they recon that there were 2 assasins but Oswald was the fall guy, no way was kennedys head/brains blown off from the back, the shot had to come from the grassy area, he was shot in the throat and thats what caused his head to explode, they said it was a small entry wound but a massive exit wound, it was a very good documentary does anyone on here remember where they were that day when the heard the news ?. It was a sad day for everyone when that happened.I belive he is buried in Arlington cemetary with an eternal burning flame marking where he is.
a good man that died way before his time with an assassins bullit.

Remember it well. Early Friday evening when the news filtered through. I was 11 years old, in my first year at grammar school but very aware of older people's feelings and reaction to the news. He was viewed as hope for a post- war future as we entered a new decade. I watched the programme referred to and what occurred in the hours and days after his death were both shocking and disgusting. Kennedy had many flaws and faults, of that there was/Is no doubt. A lot has been written since about 'The Kennedy Curse'. I'm dubious about that claim but they did become a family blighted by bad luck and tragedy but of course we will never know the true details of that fateful day.

Only 14 months old at the time, so have no personal memories. But it’s one of those events that you ask “where were you when..”. My Dad was at work, but remember asking my Mum. She was making tea, listening to the radio, and said how shocked she was to hear the announcement.

Arlington was George Washington’s house and the family home of his great grendaughter, who was wife to Robert E. Lee; their home up to the American Civil War… and why it was chosen as the national Cemetery, to bury Union soldiers.

Especially when Dr's and surgeons were told (threatened with dire consequences)if they said anything about how many bullets and gunshot entry and exit wounds there was.. All very strange really..One of life's mysterious occasions..So sad watching Jackie Kennedy climbing on the car boot to retrieve parts of his brain. 😔

Sixty years on and still the truth about the assassination of JFK hasn't been released.
The programme about the Parkland doctors was interesting - the interview between all of them years after the event and they were all still adamant that the wound in Kennedys throat was an entry wound caused by a shot from the front as was the fatal head shot. Kennedy also suffering a shot in the back. In addition to Governor Connolys wounds there must have been more than the three 'official' shots that the Warren Commision report said all came from the Rear and the 6th Floor of the Book Depository.
The assassination if JFK still bewilders today as there were so many witnessses who were present that day in Dallas.

Arlington House was not the home of George Washington. He died in 1799, the house was built in 1803. Washington lived at Mount Vernon.Arlington House was built by Washington’s step grandson, grandson of Washington’s wife Martha Custis Mary Custis, Martha’s great granddaughter married Robert E Lee.
The house remained owned by the Lee family well into the Civil War. The final straw was when property taxes had to be paid in person in 1863. Although the Lees had the money, Lee’s wife was too ill to appear in person, the property tax was unpaid and the Government seized the house.
After the War it was decreed that the house hade been illegally seized and was returned to the Lee family. However burials had already taken place, particularly in what had been the rose garden, and a shanty town had developed close to the house. The Lees never returned.

Gary Oldman who played Lee Harvey Oswald in "JFK" said this. I'm never read anything about Gary Oldman being into conspiracy theories. I, of course, stand to be corrected.

And like all these occasions, they were working to keep him alive for a good half hour, before they announced his death.

Get everything/everyone in place and then announce.

This explains why there has been so much coverage of the JFK assassination on TV recently. One of the theories not mentioned was the one of him being accidentally shot by one of his own security guards who was travelling in the car ( or the one behind it,) and when the first shot was fired got his own gun entangled in trying to get it out to defend the president and it went off striking the President in the back of the head. At the time of the TV documentary programme ( many years after the actual event,) it sounded plausible but who knows and who tells?

Forgot to mention I was 16 years old at the time and remember going to the Catholic Youth Club in Barnoldswick and how shocked we all were. It seemed especially poignant for us because of JFK's religion.

Horrible and now a historical incident that sent shock waves around the globe.
We will probably never know the true story, but for all the conspiracy theories out there, I was satisfied the after watching the Gavin Esler documentary about the assassination, it was Lee Harvey Oswald who did fire the fatal rounds from the book repository. All the nonsense in the JFK film never took into account the modifications to the presidential vehicle. So none of the "magic bullet " rubbish is relevant.

A main conspiracy is that the money men in America, the ones who actually hold the power, wanted to increase American involvement in Vietnam and JFK was unwilling to do this so they got rid of him.

In fact the term "conspiracy theorist" originated from the JFK assassination with the CIA pushing the term out to mainstream media wanting to belittle anyone who didn't believe the "true story" told by the government.

I think you'll find this actually a conspiracy theory.
