Will Burnley be relegated?
Unfortunately, I do not have enough information or modeling capabilities to definitively predict whether Burnley will be relegated from the Premier League this season. However, some insights I can provide:
- Burnley are currently sitting in the relegation zone in 19th place after 15 matches played in the 2022/2023 Premier League season. This puts them in significant danger of relegation.
- As a recently promoted club, Burnley is facing an uphill battle to avoid the drop. Newly promoted sides often struggle to assemble Premier League-quality squads quickly enough.
- However, Burnley has shown relegation fighting spirit before, having avoided the drop in recent previous Premier League seasons. So write-off would be premature.
- With over half the season still to play, Burnley's fate is still largely in their own hands. Additional January player signings and improved form in the second half of the season could boost their survival hopes.
- Key factors to monitor will be Burnley's ability to tighten up at the back, improvement in chance conversion up front, and continued ability to grind out points, especially at home at Turf Moor.
So in summary - Burnley is in a worrying position, but still has time and opportunity to assemble Premier League survival form. I cannot definitively predict the outcome either way with the information available to me currently. Their survival battle promises to make for an intense second half of the season.

Re: Will Burnley be relegated?
We are a different animal to the side last in the PL (though the qualities of that team were on a downward spiral the season we went down). The current team played on the front foot in the Championship last season and shocked the footballing world with their style of play. Goals came from everywhere and 101 points speak for itself. We were also the lowest conceeders of goals in the Division.
I fully expected us to be bottom or near to after the first four or five games, but expected some results and points in the next six or seven. This has not happened, and we made numerous individual errors in defence and midfield that have invariably led to goals. Its now hard envisaging who we could beat. I feel its become a four horse challenge staying up, but I see Everton despite their points deduction, rallying round and getting the points they need, starting with Man Utd this weekend
I now accept we will likely get relegated as the PL has come a year or so too early. That's unless we can cut out the individual errors with immediate effect, get our act together at defending set pieces and corners, and take our chances. Unless Foster is able to be fit again soon, I dont know where our goals will come from, to exceed the goals we are coneding at will

Re: Will Burnley be relegated?
Statistically speaking, only 1 team has survived the threat of relegation, after being on 4 points after 12 games in the Premier league era.
I was looking for positives and stumbled upon this stat.

Re: Will Burnley be relegated?
being optimistic, and sensing an improvement despite the string of defeats, I reckon if we beat west ham then the signs are right that we can have a good run through december as well and stick some points on the board.
If we do, then its a platform to strengthen and ultimately survive. Albeit it by the skin of our teeth.

Looking at where we are now it's a definite yes but a win or two and get some players in January with experience you never know.

Should it be When will Burnley be relegated ? If we are going to be really pessimistic.
Strengthen the spine and we have a chance.

A great question deserves a great answer
Yes if we finish in the bottom 3
No if we don't finish in the bottom 3

No if we don't finish in the bottom 3

The Super Computer has us finishing rock bottom
Re: Will Burnley be relegated?
I would say the odds are heavily against us to avoid the drop at this stage. Win 2 of the next 3 and things would look a lot better!

Re: Will Burnley be relegated?
I'm clinging on to the hope that we seemed to have had a ridiculously unbalanced start to the season in terms of facing the bigger clubs in the first 12 games.
Re: Will Burnley be relegated?
And maybe another reason for the ridiculously unbalanced start is the ridiculously unbalanced squad that we put together this summer for circa £100mAndreshotboots wrote: ↑Fri Nov 24, 2023 9:55 amI'm clinging on to the hope that we seemed to have had a ridiculously unbalanced start to the season in terms of facing the bigger clubs in the first 12 games.
Just a thought

It's not looking good but if there's any sort of positive to be sought there's plenty of time & plenty of points up for grabs.

The Bookies are looking at the record which is bad enough. They aren’t sitting through 90 minutes of ineffective football every week where we dont remotely look like winning. This why they are probably more optimistic.

Yes and unfortunately the stats pretty much back that up historically for a top flight team to only have 4 points at this stage of a season

Re: Will Burnley be relegated?
Very likely. But I’m more concerned by the performances and lack of improvement/learning than I am about the league position at the minute. A reasonable run of fixtures coming up before Christmas which I think will either keep us in with a shout or condemn us.
Re: Will Burnley be relegated?
If we get relegated then we'll have an evening better squad than the last season in the championship. Something I'll look forward to if that happens...not to mention the 6 points from wins over you know who.
Re: Will Burnley be relegated?
No..!...er...wait....YES..!...hum.. maybe.
Re: Will Burnley be relegated?
Statistics may not always tell the full story but they can be brutal. We're averaging 0.3 points per game, in order to get to 37 we need to be on 1.2 points a game from now on.
I understand the 'we will improve / need a good transfer deadline' arguments, the issue is that by that point we may have too much to do even if the team started to perform. Also at that point teams will know we havev to win do their likely default tactic will be to hit us on the break.
The crying shame of it all is that we have had so many potential gimmes this year, from Everton's deduction to playing teams such as Brentford and Utd at a time when they were awful. Today we have a West Ham side ravaged with injuries and though I hope we get all 3 points I fear it'll be 80% possession and a defeat or draw.
