Why does it not? Newly promoted sides struggle in this league generally.
Clarets vs West Ham
Re: Clarets vs West Ham
You said we needed to shore it up, he took off attacking players and brought on defensive minded ones like Cullen and it probably cost us the game.
The truth is, you were always going to slag VK off if we lost.

Re: Clarets vs West Ham
Get rid put Jacko in charge for 5-10 games, if that doesnt work think about a new manager fairly quick, spent far too much money on dross this year been an abject failure im afraid. Quite concerned how we pay off these obligations to buy in the championship.Ampth7 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2023 5:20 pmNo doubt about it, we are bang in trouble! Leaking goals for fun and don’t really look like scoring makes for a disaster which is happening every game now.
Short term, I can’t see us avoiding relegation now. Longer term, do we stick or twist with the manager in the hope that we bounce back again the following season having learned some valuable lessons? Sacking VK now may or may not save our season, and who would we get to replace him?
Either way, I wouldn’t want to be in Pace’s position right now!!

Luton have 5points more than us and spent nothing!

Re: Clarets vs West Ham
Kompany should have held with what we had on the pitch. He lost us the game with this subs. We lost the physicality experience and pace. Koleosho was pining them back, as soon as he went off they 40 yards up the pitch. JBG was controlling the game with Jay Rod showing their experience. All on Kompany that one for me

The subs changed the game it was as simple as that.

Re: Clarets vs West Ham
I most certainly was not, Cullen did nothing, Ramsey replaced JBG as I said IMHO was MOM until his departure. Cork is supposedly injured but on crutches a capitulation like that would not have happrned IMHO of course
KRBFC are you happy with what is being served up? What is your master plan?
Re: Clarets vs West Ham
Don’t recall saying this ever but happy enough for someone to prove me wrong.JimmyRobbo wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2023 5:00 pmWere you one of those saying we would fall through the leagues 2 seasons ago?

Ramsey replaced Amdouni in the 73rd minute when we were still winning
I'm no Cullen fan but he would have been the better option to shore up central midfield at that point
Re: Clarets vs West Ham
That’s the second time this season that Koleoshoe has had the fullback on a yellow card ,last time VK swapped him to the other wing today he subbed him ( football brain Vincent Kompany?) if he has he’s not using it very well.

Good point Westleigh - baffling.

I used to think that international breaks were a pain in the ass. Now I am beginning to think they are the best weeks of the season !

Re: Clarets vs West Ham
That has floored me.
Any other team and West Ham are on the end of a nailed on defeat. It perfectly encapsulated why we are doomed. We battled really well for the majority and a more direct team would have had them in trouble. We looked like we wanted to walk the ball in.There were also times when we failed to get enough men in the box in very promising situations.
Then his substitutions. Zaroury for Koleosho I can understand purely from a fresh legs point of view...but bringing the diminutive and lightweight Cullen on and pushing Brownhill (who I thought had his best game of the season today) out wide was utterly bizarre and was the turning point. JBG for Bruun Larsen was the swap..again for fresh legs.
That ending today was a major psychological blow not just for the fans but more worryingly...the players. They will need some picking up from this.
The West Ham fans heading home to London will be seriously wondering how they won that. They were dreadful...and still won.

Re: Clarets vs West Ham
Pressure on VK must be immense-however is this now affecting and clouding his judgement to the point we are getting worse. Three chances to beat Palace, WHU and Bournemouth and all three with weakened teams beat us. Having worshipped this guy for the best part of a season, it must be harder by the game, for the Board not to step in, particularly when you benchmark us with Luton
