The crowd did not help today

Post by Bowclaret » Sat Nov 25, 2023 6:54 pm

FACT ! Caused too much tension, too much anxiety and on the players backs when we tried to play it out from the back or passed it back to Trafford.

Where the hell is the Turf Moor roar and our passion to get behind our team ?

Vinny asked for it at the town hall celebrations - WE HAVE A MASSIVE PART TO PLAY - make Turf Moor HELL !

One bell end next to us today booed at half time ! WHY ?

We go again Saturday - Get behind us

I was in the Underground Bar with the Benalmadena Clarets today for the game and we all said the noise and atmosphere for the match sounded great. We could hear the chanting throughout the game and we were happy to join in from 1500 miles away.

I’m not surprised there is a “tension” we have a little boy in goal who can’t/won’t catch anything and who no one trusts in possession unless there’s a free man right next to him.

The only people who turf moor is hell for is those of us hopelessly turning up to watch us gift goals to every team in the league.

Crowd was generally good today but I thought there were a few really, really unfair moments on Trafford. 2 or 3 times while he was standing still with the ball at his feet and once when he punched it while being fouled. Was as bad as it was at its worst with Muric last season. Deeply unhelpful way to behave.

First half was just quiet in the upper longside. People just chatting to each other with no interest in the game.

We need a win to breath some life back into the fanbase.

Are the crowd each getting paid £40,000 a week (or whatever players get)?

Considering we’ve been beaten in every home game, thought the fans should be given pats on the back for today, because they backed the team and still didn’t get any reward for it. Still ****** off at the club for criticising support considering good money spent and what’s being served up.

7 home defeats and you're blaming the fans. Give your head a wobble, most clubs would be lucky for our level of support if they were in a run of form like we are.

Noticed the guy who wanted a drum, Russel Ball, was watching the game from the Cricketfield stand today. Few rows behind JJ Watt.

Spotted two club shop bought flags in JHL, aided the atmosphere.

I'm usually one of the first to have a go at the crowd for being quiet but I thought it sounded more than decent for the most part, a bit quiet at times the lads needed a push but that's how it is at the moment. Not the crowds fault in any way shape or form today imho.

I don't understand this notion that ‘the crowd didn't help?’

They didn't boo or chant anything negative about the players or the management… the crowd have been generally good so far this season, in my opinion, given we are bottom of the league.

Also, this idea of making ‘Turf Moor Hell’… what does ‘hell’ mean? How do you make it intimidating without having that element of aggression? Where's the line?

The crowd were excellent throughout imo and the only time things turned a little "moanie" was when we were suddenly losing with about 3 minutes of added time still to play and we're still fannying about passing sideways at the back. It might not be our strength and it might not be the way VK wants us to play, but at that stage just boot the bloody ball forward and let's see if we can snatch summut!!

I'm getting pretty fed up with the constant digs at the fans, as though we're the reason the team can't stop losing.

I fully expect another email from the club this week with some new suggestions on how to make everything better.

Fans at the ground were excellent, but would be even better if we were winning games.

So many Fans on here are embarrassing and soul destroying. Have some positivity, some hope. So bloody negative. They must never take any chances in life, just surviving each day, it's very depressing reading stuff on here.

We moaned at the beginning of last season when we messed around at the back but after a few games we all became more patient, however you can have to much of a good thing ,in the 2nd half when Trafford got the ball forward we looked far more dangerous ,VK needs to realise that this tippy tappy way of playing as its place but needs to mix it up a lot more with a few long and as you said 3 mins to go and we’re still passing sideways and backwards was an absolute joke.

I don’t think it’s a question of fans being negative we go on every match hoping for a win get behind the team and come off totally ****** off ,we get home and the board is probably the best place to let off steam and hopefully by Sunday afternoon start getting another loss out of our system.

I thought the atmosphere was good yesterday. I only heard West Ham fans pre-match and from 86 minutes onwards. All you could hear were our fans other than that.

Any booing at half time could have been directed at the ref from losing the strange decision not to award us a penalty? Or maybe their number 10 who was throwing himself all over the pitch?

From watching on IPTV I could hear Burnley fans loudly backing the team. There are always a minority who will look for the negative in anything and everything, in an attempt to say 'I told you so' when something goes wrong. It is a trait that seems prevalent amongst Burnley fans and I would say Burnley folk as a whole. I remember years ago Dan talking about a bloke who sat in front of him and his constant moaning and negativity. Sounds like a bloke I know. He then told me where he sat and lo and behold it was the bloke I knew.

You're absolutely right and that's where I think Muric has a big part to play. We saw last season that he's miles ahead of Trafford in his ability to suddenly look up, see the long pass and ping it with tremendous accuracy and it caught out teams pressing us time and again.

So many Fans on here are embarrassing and soul destroying. Have some positivity, some hope. So bloody negative. They must never take any chances in life, just surviving each day, it's very depressing reading stuff on here.
I feel negative and soul destroyed tbh. I didn’t want to be there on Saturday and I don’t wanna go next Saturday. I cannot comprehend what a massive balls up we have made of this both in the transfer window and ever since, the whole thing is riling me.

I’m not sure we have ever gone from being so good to so bad.

Anyway I’ll get over it.

Can’t download it but just seen a survey on Tic Tok and the atmosphere at the Turf is the 17th out of 20.🤬

The crowd were very good until West Ham scored then the tension was palpable. Once the second went in there wasn't a roar to gee up the lads, more of a mass exodus within seconds.

There was barely a crowd left by the time the Ref blew for full time.
