Muric
At this moment we can might as well have a laugh about it.
We played well and West Ham got lucky to bag the 3 points.
Can't blame our individual players that gave it absolutely all they got. So did Vinnie who even after being down 1-2 kept firing up the team to equalise. Had a deja vu from the Belgium vs Japan game at the world cup. Asolute top professional.
Encouraging performance from Burnley after all. Cut the fellas some slack.

I am amazed you have the front to open a thread titled "Muric" after the dross you posted on twitter.Lowbankclaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 11:19 pmAnother thread about a player who will be sold in January!
To think you recently said you don't tell lies
Re: Muric
After what I've read about him in the past months you'd expect clubs to be lining up to sign him. Interesting to see how that's going to go.Lowbankclaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 11:19 pmAnother thread about a player who will be sold in January!

When he is sold next month, you might know who knows something, or not.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2023 8:15 amI am amazed you have the front to open a thread titled "Muric" after the dross you posted on twitter.

You are still standing by your claim you posted on twitter surely ?Lowbankclaret wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 11:12 pmWhen he is sold next month, you might know who knows something, or not.
I mean I get you enjoy the Walter Mitty lifestyle but I really did think even you would have had the sense to bow out of this one.
He may well be sold, part of me hopes he is for the sake of reading this forum this season but it has nothing to do with the Kosovan mafia like you stupidly claimed.

Re: Muric
According to Orient fans the guy from Orient is very far from crap and I think we could do far worse than giving him a go (for what it's worth). He's experienced and although the levels might be lower, experience goes a bloody long way in the PL as we can all see week in week out.
Also, the guy who sits next to me on The Turf who is an eminently sensible chap, insists that somebody he knows within the club told him categorically that in front of numerous witnesses Muric lost his rag at some point towards the end of last season and made some serious threats against some club staff which led to an irretrievable rift.

Re: Muric
So why is he on the bench? Why does he play in cup games? Why wasn't he transfer listed as a priority over the summer?Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 8:29 amAlso, the guy who sits next to me on The Turf who is an eminently sensible chap, insists that somebody he knows within the club told him categorically that in front of numerous witnesses Muric lost his rag at some point towards the end of last season and made some serious threats against some club staff which led to an irretrievable rift.
If a player does something like that which is such an "irretrievable rift" you don't keep have them anywhere near the squad they're U23s until sold or fully frozen out, we've seen clubs do that over less.
I get that after Dyche got sacked there were efforts to go full damnatio memoriae I him with the inane rumours on here but if Muric was out of favour due to some violent threat towards staff he wouldn't be on the bench or playing in the cup, he'd have been out the door ASAP, we didnt hesitate to loan out with Weghorst and Bastien and they hadn't threatened anyone. It's a nonsensical train of thought.
Whatever the rift is (and there clearly is one) whether Muric is sold or not (and I unfortunately expect him to be) it's about football not something as dramatic as violent conduct towards staff.

League 2 is a lot different to the Prem.Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 8:29 amAccording to Orient fans the guy from Orient is very far from crap and I think we could do far worse than giving him a go (for what it's worth). Re: Muric
Come on, these criticisms are getting a bit silly. Trafford went out on loan to league 1 at aged 19/20 and Bolton fans raved about him. I also spoke to a Barnsley fan who said hes the best keeper hed ever seen at that level.
Compare that to Vigouroux who is in his 30's and has played 2 seasons at League 1 level in hisnwhole career before going back to League 2. He's clearly been brought in as a third choice keeper with a low salary.
If he was good enough, teams would have signed him years ago, im sure Leyton Orient werent turning down big bids for him.

Vigouroux has played at the same League 1 level as Trafford has prior to joining us. And your Barnsley fan? Best keeper he has seen at that level? Fine, one person’s opinion does it for you then if said person actually exists?
Fact is, Muric has deficiencies in his overall game but got away with them last season because we scored many more than we conceded.
Trafford has got deficiencies in his game also and his inability to command his area and deal with crosses has cost us big time.
People are bound to clamour for the bloke with the shirt from last season when the bloke with the shirt now is a liability. It is human nature. It won’t matter one jot though whatever any of us think or you defending a suspect goalkeeper. Kompany won’t deviate from this path and your preferred keeper will be keeping the shirt for the remainder of the season as long as he doesn’t pick up an injury.
Re: Muric
Ive actually called for Trafford to be dropped for Muric and a new keeper be signed numerous times but the comments on here are just becoming totally irrational. Hes a talented young keeper that isnt ready for this level yet.Jamesy wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 1:41 pmI don’t wish to be disrespectful but I think you just make things up as you go along and also contradict yourself?

Unfortunately theres clearly an issue behind the scenes with Muric so it looks like hes our only option at the moment.
The idea of Vigoroux becoming our Premier league number 1 is just nonsense and clearly isnt going to happen.
This is a guy thats consistently played at a lower level than Will Norris who i thought was absolutely god awful for us.
Re: Muric
We did sign two keepers who were about to become league one keepers. One I think was released as his team was relegated the other we payed money for despite him playing a part in relegating his team. Both then played for England as I recall

Re: Muric
1) Did either of them play there or did they do enough in the Champ to stay in the Champ?
2) Did we sign Heaton when we were in the Champ or PL?
3) Did we sign Nick Pope to be #1 and start in the Prem immediately?
