Sheffield Utd fans
Hands up, I’ve been quick to mention how poor our fans have been this season but they away fans were awful today.
Any noise from the away team was purely negative to their own players.
Screaming at their keeper that he isn’t fit or wear the shirt
Abusing the only player to come and thank them after the game
Joining in with “sacked in the morning”
And various scuffles outside the ground.
Did they expect top 6?

Re: Sheffield Utd fans
I think the timing of our first goal set the trend.

Re: Sheffield Utd fans
Ok, the first goal after 15? seconds doesn't help, but at the final whistle they were berating the players big style and the couple who tentatively approached the away end soon changed their minds!

Can you blame them? That was a shocking performance. Borderline downed tools. Think I’d be livid too.

Re: Sheffield Utd fans
I think our fans were better today for whatever reason. Probably scoring so quickly and the opposition fans being quiet
I truly believe that if we can get the ground going we will survive.
What's going on with the flags in the ground idea? Has it gone because of the obvious profiteering stance?

I thought their gallows humour "how **** must you be. It's only one nil" was pretty funny.

Re: Sheffield Utd fans
Some angry Sheffield United fans mixing into the Burnley fans next to the coaches looking for fights. Must have been a long day for them.

They've just lost 1-3 to Bournemouth and 0-5 to Burnley. Whatever they might have expected this season, they didn't expect an aggregate 1-8 loss to the two worst (they believe) sides in the division.
how would we have reacted to a 0-5 today? It might not have been pretty!

Re: Sheffield Utd fans
I talked to a couple of Sheffied fans after the game in the boot. Nice lads, only early 20s. Anyway, we compared 'notes' but they said that they came here expecting the worst, they have almost unanimously given up with their manager, they think the owner is a plank and see no cause for optimism.
The only thing that keeps them going is knowing that they are still better than Wednesday.
I tried to console them, as they were nice enough lads, and we've all been there but hey ho.

Re: Sheffield Utd fans
Don't really understand why you'd bother travelling to an away game just to get on your own teams back.

Re: Sheffield Utd fans
The support from the fans has been poor this season . Today the Cricketfield Stand sang like they meant it
Usually they spend most of the game watching.
That is the reality whether you want to believe it or not.
If you mean something else that's ok

A typical football fan point of view, fans travelling to Wolves or Brighton in the next week would react exactly the same if we lost 5-0.Burnleyareback2 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 7:46 pmHands up, I’ve been quick to mention how poor our fans have been this season but they away fans were awful today.

The new wave Burnley suicide squad were hell bent on causing trouble as soon as the got near the coaches. Gobbing off at the Police and running to the windows to show how menacing they are despite their average age of 13.Steve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 8:11 pmSome angry Sheffield United fans mixing into the Burnley fans next to the coaches looking for fights. Given what happened in Blackpool we really do have some dim idiots who shouldn't be out so late in the day.

The incident I saw was some older Sheffield United fan and his son attempting to fight a couple of young teenagers who had the audacity to be celebrating a 5 nil win.JohnMac wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 8:43 pmThe new wave Burnley suicide squad were hell bent on causing trouble as soon as the got near the coaches. Think it was dark jacket with his hood up. Absolutely embarrassing lad he was trying to fight looked about 13.

I only ask as there was a lad and his dad in their end who was offering half of the Bob Lord Stand out all game and I wondered if he continued afterwards!Steve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 9:35 pmThink it was dark jacket with his hood up. Yep, a few “hard cases” trying to get between the coaches until some more “robust” Burnley lads showed up.Steve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 8:11 pmSome angry Sheffield United fans mixing into the Burnley fans next to the coaches looking for fights. Must have been a long day for them.

Re: Sheffield Utd fans
There were a few Sheffield United Two Can van Dammes acting like absolute two hats walking up to the ground from The Culvert. Shouting and bawling at anyone they encountered, they then ended up on the wrong side of the coaches heading down towards The Park View, until one of The Intelligentsia realised and ducked through the gaps between the coaches.
It certainly wasn't a surprise that some individuals carried on that behaviour post-match!

I don’t think mentioning what happened in Blackpool is really applicable to this thread.JohnMac wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 8:43 pmThe new wave Burnley suicide squad were hell bent on causing trouble as soon as the got near the coaches. Re: Sheffield Utd fans
Sadly, the only difference between today and other days is that we were winning. Personally I don’t think the scoreline should change the effort we make with the atmosphere but it does.Elizabeth wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 8:05 pmI think our fans were better today for whatever reason. Flags, no idea. They seemed to sell them with no poles, which is weird. The whole thing was just a complete feck up, which was a shame because I’d love flags at TM (a variety, ideally).

Re: Sheffield Utd fans
Had a beer with a few of them at lunchtime in Darwen before the game as a couple of their coaches stopped in the town. Really decent lads but not only accepted relegation already, they reckon administration won't be far behind it too.
I quite like the Blades to be honest, very similar club to us and I'd love us both to stay up at the expense of some "bigger clubs".
