Replaced by Ekdal no doubt.

What's happened to Al Dakhil who I think started for Belgium about a week or so ago?

Disappointing and will be missed on Tuesday. Hopefully Ekdal is ready to start and helpful that O'Shea is looking better.

I wouldn't rate ekdal fit enough to start at this moment in time, but an able back up if we have to start with Al dakhill, ekdal looked very assured yesterday but looked like he'd lost lots of muscle/weight yesterday so needs to gain a bit before being ready to start unfortunately.

Beyer's passing stats are very impressive. Could've done with that continuation on Tuesday.

Booting the ball into the crowd like that was utterly bizarre. Especially when it led to a suspension in a huge game. Kompany didn’t look happy.

Five bookings leading to a suspension is too harsh in my opinion. Players pick up bookings for so many minor fouls these days. Needs revising.
No excuse for stupid needless bookings though.

Looked like Beyer’s got some beef with Pace such was the venom with which he hit the ball at him.

How did you guys miss it? He was hitting his forhead numerous times and had his head in his hands after he realised what he did.
Us fans and Kompany will be annoyed but if you saw his reaction he's the one annoyed the most.

I know he'll be badly missed. Also think he'll start at Wolves with Ekdal. The alternative ie moving Charlie into the centre and Roberts or Vitihno at left back to me would be too disruptive and affect the balance too much.

I thought this. But just looked up yellow cards in 96-97 PL season, and 22/33, and its not risen as much as I thought it would have done

1100 to 1400 ish

That’s up by just over 21%. Like you I thought it would be much higher than this.

Ekdals mid range passing was superb last season he was ahead of Bellis for all ranges of passing and narrowly behind Beyer possibly even ahead on one. The worry is pace but he's got more defensive nous I think than our other options, I'm not too worried about him stepping in especially with what he offers from set pieces at both ends

Totally agree on Ekdal - his lack of pace is a worry but he's our best defender otherwise, as you say more defensive nous.

The two central defenders played well yesterday, really well, and what a ridiculous yellow card. Incredibly, Beyer has more yellow cards this season than he got last season.

Not after an argument, CT, but I thought the consensus was his lack of pace was down to him coming back from injuries. As he is coming back from injury now you might have a valid point.

Stupid mistake from Beyer. He is only 23 and we can easily forget that as he usually plays like a mature defender.

Only hope he learns from this in future and sees the bigger picture.

The gaffer went straight to Beyer at full time and clearly lifted him - he knew he messed up.

Perfect timing with Ekdal coming back and we also have a Belgium full international centre back also - some options we have.

It is how many make 5 and 10 that counts.

Nothing to do with injuries - we saw it last season and I’m sure that’s why he wasn’t considered at the start of the season.

Practically unchanged in this regard
I would assume due to bigger squads and rotation

I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for now - players coming to England from continental leagues can look a touch slow initially till they adapt to the pace of English football

Ekdal or Delcroix in for me.

Last thing we need is AAD thrown back in against a very good, physical striker in Cunha.

I think Dara will be well up for it being against Wolves being an ex Baggies captain - and I’m sure the Wolves wont be forgetting!
