Vitinho

Post by PremierLeagueClass » Sun Dec 03, 2023 11:16 am

Thought this guy deserved a thread of his own.

I’ve been his harshest critic at times and there are still areas of his game he needs to improve, namely crossing. However, he has improved dramatically over the last few games. Full of energy and always looking for the ball.

Bottom of the league, you’d expect confidence to be shot amongst a number of players. This lads confidence seems to be at an all time high. He’s a fighter and I respect that.

I agree with this. I thought he played very well yesterday, as he has done for a couple of weeks. That said, I think we must improve in both fullback areas.

Was shocked at the five year deal but to be fair he's showing himself to be a warrior in recent games.

He's always had outstanding movement. Last season it was apparent there were games where he was stood in acres and acres of space and his teammates never seemed to spot or try find him. His goals were him somehow popping up unmarked to score headers despite being tiny, he's a very very clever player.
He's got a turn of pace, quite strong for his stature, bit of dribbling skill, he just needs a bit more end product. He's shown it in flashes like playing left back at Wigan away but if he can get more consistent delivery he'd be a star. That said i think there was a ball he put in first half yesterday, and against West Ham, that if Foster's fit rather than Jay are goals, Jay just hasn't got the pace anymore for a lot of those quick cutting balls across the box.

He's only just turned 24 too. Honestly think he's got bags and bags of potential still if he can improve his attacking output, but again that's also something that in part comes with the players around you. De Bruyne is elite but it's easier to get so many assists when you've got players like Haaland around you

What worries me about him at RB is that he always seems to dive in. Got skinned a couple of times yesterday - better teams will punish that

So much to improve on but feel you can never question his heart. Same as Charlie.

Agree both full backs (all 3 in fact) are ultimately not good enough for Prem, but I never hold that against any player as long as they do their best, and they do.

All three easily good enough to get back up from the Champ though. Which is prob what we need to keep an eye on as well, as we will need that.

He's a bit of a favourite of mine despite some weaknesses in his game and I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because he seems to have an unwavering determination. Or maybe it's just because he's a Brazilian playing for Burnley.

He's young for a defender and always seems to give his all. I'd be interested to see where his game is at after a couple more years playing at this level. For now he's got the kind of character we need in the squad.

Always energetic and prepared to work hard for the team.
However sometimes rash in his decision making and often bad choices of positioning.
Good squad player though for the price paid

He's played well for the past 3 or 4 games. Seems to be getting forward more than Roberts was. Yes he's made the odd error but so has most of the side...thing is many are playing at the highest level they will ever do for the first time so are learning week by week

He did and has been doing very well getting forward. Occasionally he just needs to remember not to forget to take the ball with him. :D

He was bloody brilliant yesterday. Nullified his opposing threat completely, linked up great with JBL and was creative on his own. The best game I've seen from him. My MotM.
