Been afraid of this following the sudden slump in form, hot on the heels of struggling to get his style adopted at the start of the season. Cannot see it being too long before someone sees what I thought Swansea had spotted. Needs a chairman with a spine to succeed.

Fans never took to Duff at all but I thought he’d fought through that

Wasn’t a good fit from the off there.

Their fans didn’t fancy him, didn’t like him not staying local, didn’t like that he didn’t play “The Swansea Way”( whatever that means).

Was always going to be held to more scrutiny than another gaffer would with the same circumstances.

Not sure where Duffo goes from here? I thought he had a promotion and consolidation with Barnsley in him. Would have done much more for his stock than getting sacked at Swansea like

jumping ship too early in a career isn't always the wisest move

We could do a lot worse than offering Duff a role at the club, a defensive coach or something similar ??

Obviously will probably want to carry on a career in a management though.

Shame he left Barnsley, they loved him there and were making progress. One step forward and two back going to Swansea.

According to their chairman their “identity” at Swansea is “critical” to the club.

Aye, reight.

How can you sack a manager and in the press release state that you know he will be successful in his next job

Always amazed when he went to Swansea. It never looked a good fit for him but he must have thought he couldn't emulate last season again at Barnsley.

If only we had an experienced ex-premier league defender to help with coaching.

Michael Jackson is our defensive coach although I'm sure the manager must have a lot of say :D

To add to this one - Mowbray sacked at Sunlan - strange one

yes quite possibly and totally agree about his choice of Swansea. I wouldn't know what the success rate is of managers who jump ship mid contract but I can't imagine it's very high

High expectations up there........especially after keeping hold of Clarke.
