No. We have spent plenty of money on wingers. With any money we may have we need a LB, CB and ST as higher priorities.

…. Or use Zaroury, odobert jbl, jbg, benson when fit, tresor etc…….

Rarely for us this season we’ve had an injury to a player we have adequate cover for.

The main reason we won’t be signing Clarke is that Koleosho was our golden ticket in 6-18 months, with this injury that is now at risk. No way will be risk a big outlay in a position we have cover for.

I suspect that’s exactly what Koleosho was. We’d have been looking to sell him on as quickly as we could I suspect or would have been but for the injury.

Hopefully someone at the club, a sporting director or such like if we've even got one, is going to take charge this window and ensure what money we do have is spent in an appropriate manner this time.

Last summer was a great lesson in exactly how not to spend your budget. Any suggestion of needing another winger should be met with derision.

Clarke is better than any of the wingers we have, but it would be a massive waste of funds given how many we have.

The club has to be shrewd

And that he will remain...
until he actually plays for us and turns out to be just as good as what we already have, no better.

Let's be realistic. Our trajectory is only heading one way unfortunately and that makes it virtually impossible we could entice any meaningful, ambitious talent to join us in January. During the summer we probably had our pick as our stock was high and they would have been queuing up to come to The Turf. At the time we refused to pay what we felt was stupid or excessive money (which is where Clarke and few other deals probably floundered) and I haven't a problem with that, but trying to resurrect those deals or get fresh ones over the line, especially with players in the top half of the Championship, is a whole different thing when you're pretty certain to go down.

you can be mom and our best player last game and still not be good enough on the ball for us to progress as a team. Nobody thought Cullen would be replaced but here we are......

Hindsight is aways 20/20 but I always thought getting rid of Ash Barnes premature.A player coach role made far more sense as we had no similar player to replace him. Games where we needed to scrap.Palace, WHU and Wolves all ,I believe were winnable and Ash's attitude and application was our need.Hopefully VK has a striker lined up in January.

I think VK has been winging it all season, I don't think we need any more.

No, I think that ship has sailed. I’d be looking for an aggressive tall centre back that can organise a defence and a midfielder with similar qualities, I think we could cope in other areas if we got those two.

Clarke looks a good player. But we need to prioritise a striker, a left back and maybe a more dominant centre back.

Please no. Give Zaroury a proper chance at this level not just 1 start and done, give Odobert a go, Larsen was poor vs Wolves but good otherwise so try him and Benson when Manuel's fit.
No more wingers, we need an experienced CB, a striker ideally a big nasty ******* with a decent touch/mobility, and another CM to either upgrade on Brownhill or give us the option to go 3 in the centre (if we're not favouring Gudmundsson there and Cullen's not deemed up to it). Ideally also leftback cover as if Taylor gets hurt we're in trouble there.
