Trafford 10 - We leave with nothing if it wasn't for him.
Vit 7 - He was great except for that moment of madness in the first half nearly gifting Brighton a goal.
O'Shea 6 - Still would prefer Ekdal over him.
Beyer 7 - Fairly solid show.
Taylor 6 - Got a silly yellow to rule him out of the Everton game.
Berge 6 - Didn't do a lot wrong but also didn't impose himself as well in this game, admittedly Brighton are a tough team to do that against.
Brownhill 7 - Similar to the above but thought he put himself about well.
Odobert 8 - Great goal and looked promising. Improved defensively in the second half as well.
Amdouni 8 - Technically a great player, he just needs Foster on with him to be more effective.
JBG 6 - huffed and puffed a lot.
Jay 6 - he is always chasing the game.

Ramsey 6 - I think he will come good but he is too naive at times and gives the ball away in silly areas.

Trafford - 9 - outstanding string of saves that have won us a point.

Vitinho - 8 - his best performance this season
Beyer - 7
O'Shea - 7
Taylor - 6 - cannot have that booking

Odoebert - 7 - good first half and a very good goal. I like how he will have a go
Berge - 7
Brownhill - 7
JBG - 5 - his service isn't good enough for a team that doesn't score many

Amdouni - 7

J-Rod - 5 - not in the game and as at Wolves another highly costly miss. We don't get many chances. We have to convert what we do get.

Tresor - 7 - there is some hope
Redmond - 7 - delightful ball to Roberts that gave us a real chance at the end
Roberts - 6
Ramsey - either unfit, unable, or both. Not ready for the Prem whatever the price tag.

Kompany - 4. Again a dreadful use of subs in terms of timing. Their goal was seen a mile off and he didn't adjust in time.

An excellent point away. They've had 29 shots. We'd have all taken a point beforehand.

Half-Time concerns me. What is he saying? What adjustments is he making. The 1st half we were in the game. The 2nd half was basically attack vs defence. He's got to start recognizing the danger signs and adjusting sooner. All that said - it's an invaluable point when I expected none. UTC

Trafford- 9 MOM. What a bizarre performance, couldn't find a teammate with a pass yet was phenomenal when it came to shot stopping late on and the only reason we emerged with anything. That very last save was absurd. I still don't understand why we play this system with him as he doesn't fit it, but as I've said from the start he will be a top top keeper. Hope today was a sign "will be" is sooner than later.
Vitinho- 8. Brilliant 2nd half, inconsistent first half and frustrating play. Very close to breaking through as a good PL RB.
O'Shea- 7. Tired late on, distribution iffy, but solid.
Beyer- 6. He's not himself this season. Not winning it in the air, not surging forwards. Was okay but far from what I came to expect.
Taylor-5. Idiotic booking, at fault for the goal, offered little going forwards. Disappointing performance but we have a problem for Everton now.

Gudmundsson-6. Still not a winger anymore. Was so-so but didn't create a ton besides that early shot. Understood subbing him.
Brownhill- 6. Did alright.
Berge- 6. Also did alright, thought about giving him 7 as he had moments of trying to drive us on, but like most of the team got pegged back as the game went on.
Odobert- 7. Great goal if a bit lucky, exciting attacking runs, waned massively and as he did, we did.
Amdouni- 6. Did okay but just hasn't got the help without dynamic players around him.
Jay- 4. Another game where he was entirely absent. Love him, find it hard to watch.

Ramsey- Don't think he was on long enough to rate, if he was- 4. Came on, did nothing, messed up some play, got hurt, disrupted us.
Tresor- 5. Few touches, few passes, we got pegged back so didn't get the chance to do much.
Roberts- 5. Ought to have done better from Redmond's ball, otherwise same as Tresor, we were pegged back he was a body.
Redmond- 6. Tried to keep us at it or offer an outlet when he came on, had nothing to work with but was eager. Still looks decent to me.
Ekdal- 6. Shored us up just about enough.

I'd have taken a point before kickoff, but Sheffield/Bournemouth winning and Forest getting a draw, plus throwing the lead away, leaves it stinging a little and feeling like not enough.

Trafford - 9 - MOM - his first half long passing is the only thing I could mark him down on, great second half performance
Vitinho - 8 - second half earned his place in the team, first half was sloppy
O'Shea - 7 - alright, nothing stood out bar a few good headed clearances
Beyer - 7 - weak in the air, his drive out from the back could have led to something if he didnt chip the ball out wide
Taylor - 7 - standard Charlie performance, worked hard, unfortunate to be booked and will be a big miss next week
Brownhill - 8 - energy in midfield, never stops, great worker and great partnership with Berge
Berge - 8 - carrying of the ball first half was great, midfield over run a little in second half but kept shape well
JBG - 7 - solid enough hour, team got a bit weaker once he departed but that was more due to who replaced him
Amdouni - 7 - one of the best first touches I've seen in a Burnley shirt, always sucks in a defender and skips away
Odobert - 8 - great defensively, great goal, worked hard and I think he will be very special
Jay - 6 - had to do better with his chance, working hard but nothing seems to click at the minute, probably needs a rest but we have no one to step in

Ramsay - 4 - harsh to mark poorly but weak, gave the ball away which led to the prolonged pressure and their goal

Mention to Tresor and Redmond, who again looked to have something about them, they deserve a chance for me at some point.

Trafford 9* - brilliant all game
Vitinho 7 - battles away, frustratingly wasteful at times
O’Shea 7 - sound
Beyer 8 - dealt with Ferguson really well
Taylor 7 - surely can’t lose a header to Adingra
JBG 5 - struggled both ways
Berge 7 - stuck at it, created our best few moments
Brownhill 7 - kept going and going and going
Odobert 7 - positive, not scared to shoot, more to come
Jay 4 - should score again and offered nothing
Amdouni 6 - needs Foster to work with but played well

Ramsey 5 - couldn’t get in the game and can’t let Gross onto his right for their goal

Trafford 9 - a couple of stray passes and still stuck to his goal line too much for the balls that came into the box….but he made some very good saves!

Vitinho 8 - not convincing in the first half and was wasteful when attacking but everything came down their left in the second half and he stood up to it very well.
Taylor 7 - silly booking but was a very steady, solid ‘no frills’ performance.
Beyer 8 - stood up to the second half barrage very well. Steady away prior to that.
O’Shea 8 - exactly as Beyer. No silly passes/mistakes this time. Some great front post interceptions in the second half.

JBG 6 - didn’t really affect the game as much as he’d have liked. His crossing was off but put a solid shift in and tried to help his full back.
Brownhill 8 - excellent ratting performance reminiscent of his performances under the previous manager. Great energy and defensive work.
Berge 7 - superb shift and excellent on the ball for the first 60 minutes and then it was just defend for your life.
Odobert 7 - good outlet. Looked confident and worried the opposition. Not really his game but he tried his best to help his full back out defensively.

Amdouni 7 - really good first 60 mins helping us to break fast and create openings. Seemed to run out of energy and should really have been hooked much earlier.
Rodriguez 5 - really disappointed with his performance today. Didn’t really get involved enough and doesn’t offer the pace needed to play on the break. Would have rather seen Tresor or Redmond in a central position from the off. Maybe Jay is feeling it a bit….he struggled putting games together last season at a lower level and his body perhaps can’t take 3 PL games in a week.

Ramsay 5 - not the right player to play that situation. Didn’t press enough and help his full back out well enough. Hope his injury is not serious.

Don’t think the other subs were really on long enough for a rating but at least the manager was proactive with his changes and changed his shape to hold onto what we had.

Great point. Trafford has definitely earned us a point today. His distribution though is poor and put us in bad positions on a least 2-3 occasions. We have also got to learn to try and stop the cross coming in. It’s our kryptonite and Brighton defo jumped on it. We rarely win a contested high ball in the area and it’s more luck than judgement that we haven’t conceded more goals like that. Onto next week though and let’s make a real go of it.

Trafford - 9* - An outstanding performnce

Vitinho - 8 - another good game
O'Shea - 7 -Solid
Beyer - 7 - Solid
Taylor - 6 - stupid booking

JBG - 5 - On the periphery - should hit target with chance first half
Brownhill - 7 - Energetic
Berge - 7 - Faded but excellent first half
Odabert - 7 - Excellent first half, tired second

Amdouni - 6 - mixed bag
Jay - 6 - mixed bag. Unlucky at 1-0, the save is more luck than management

Ramsey - 5 - lost ball so easily in lead up to goal, and then made it too easy for Gross to come back onto his right for the cross

We would have taken a point at 3pm. Some good performances and they battled. Trafford's confidence should be sky high going into next game

Trafford 9 - His best game and saves at the death won us the point.
Need to change our setup because he isn’t suited for it.
Vitinho 8 - He’s been excellent recently
O’Shea 8 - Another that’s been really good recently despite a few misplaced passes. Defensively he’s been very good.
Beyer 6 - good first half, struggled second. Struggles in the air on crosses and set pieces
Taylor 7 - shame he will miss ‘The Dyche Derby’
Berge 6 - started really well but massively faded in the second half
Brownhill - engine, everywhere. Another good captains performance from Josh
JBG 6 - toiled.
Odobert 7 - like this lad. Has a different skillset than Luca, more of a goalscorer type. Looks good.
Amdouni 6 - when it all starts to click with him we will be laughing because he’s supremely talented.
Jay 5 - toiled but looked tired. Had another great chance to score.

Ramsey 4 - another game where he loses the ball after a bad touch on half way and gets pounced on. Was good against United but doesn’t look fit and lightweight.

Trafford 9 MOM , great shot stop show from the Cumbrian child prodigy , distribution iffy but this guy has talent .
Vitinho 8-Couple of suberb blocks and fought like he was in a favela street fight.
O Shea 6- some decent clearance headers but sliced open like a tin of pilchards multiple times by a ,tbf rampant BHA.
Beyer 6-No lack of bravery from our Teutonic talisman but a touch moderate in the air? His out of box “ cul de sac “ runs need to stop.
Taylor 7- Silly booking , defended well , 1 awful cross ,v involved show from blonde bomber.
Brownhill 7- typical action show from the “ de-jugged” warrior.
Berge 6 - Strong at times, lumpen and stuttering at others .
Gudmundsson 6 no lack of effort , accuracy of an erupting geyser !
Odebert 8- suberb goal from the Parisian trickster ,encore encore !
Amdouni 6- technically v good from the Swiss maestro ,but needs service.. pronto !
J Rod 6- little service , keeper was lucky with leg but we’ve few options and he can drop v deep .

Subs: N/A
Roberts worth a mention , he wanted it .

Apart from a great goal from WO and huge relief we have a possibly ? better player than Kolo , BHA ran us utterly ragged and totally outclassed us. Still a bloody good point and another small step in getting a result and being prepared to fight for it .

Trafford 9 Made some great saves good performance distribution was slow and inaccurate but keeping out of the onion bag decent
Vitinho 8 did well and was isolated but did ok 1v1
Taylor 7 did okay one cross is still in the air - Defensively caught a couple of times by the dangerous Adinginga.
O'Shea 8 was very good our best header of a ball at the back both as the 1st defender and under contact- Did well today and blocked his zone off
Bayer 6 Has no physicality under contract but adds more balance than Ekdal on the left bringing it out doesn't have to check can play. Slight issue with his positioning got dragged over too far
Berge 7 OK screened and made a couple of forward runs neat but ran out of steam
Brownhill 6 Works as he does lacks bravery on the ball. Can not fault the lads' effort
JBG 6 Gives us a decent platform cutting in and has quality on the ball but lacks pace and power under contact.
Odo 7 Raw dangerous 1v1 lacks clarity and execution but you can see the potential and good to watch good goal faded, got caught cheating a couple of times and was bailed out by Trafford.
Amdouni- 7 Space invader suits and would suit a possession-based system finds space has quick feet. Threat 1st half faded but worked his socks off without it
Jay 6- Shows at times his time is coming slotted in when we dropped into shape and worked hard side to side - offered little but could have scored

Ramsey 5

Great point battled like the fight lack a bit of quality in midfield at times and execution but we are going in the right direction.

Trafford 9
Taylor 6 caught under the ball for the goal, horrific cross second half
Beyer 7
O’Shea 8 thought he was immense today defensively, some brilliant last ditch stuff. Sloppy distribution tho
Vitinho 8 was giving up goals for fun earlier in the season, clearly finding his feet at this level and showing improvement.
Berge 7
Brownhill 8 everywhere today
JBG 5 poor offensively
Odobert 8 just turned 19 a week ago, 3 starts 2 goals, had a huge part in creating the Rodriguez sitter.
Amdouni 7
Rodriguez 4 really poor, doesn’t provide a target to play off. It’s noticeable he’s always a yard or two from where he should be. Missed another sitter from a yard out with the GK on the floor, score that and we might win (same at Wolves)

VK 8 liked the subs and change to 541 to see it out. We are now competing, not rolling over and shipping goals for fun. The last 5 games or so have been a huge improvement, if we keep improving there’s still hope!

At least we go something. Well done to Trafford for that. Very, very poor choice of subs yet again.

I think I am still grieving for last seasons team but its a point more than I thought we'd get at the start of the day. The second half was lacking in any sort of urgency.

Trafford 8 MOM fantastic saves, kicking so poor
Vitinho 6
Beyer 6
Oshea 6
Taylor 7
Brownhill 6
Berge 6
Odobert 7
Jbg 6
Amdouni 6
Rodriguez 5 no idea how we spend £90m plus in the summer and he's starting games. Seriously, what must Obafemi be doing/not doing to not even make the bench?!

Ramsey 4 looks a long way off the pace to me.

Trafford 8 - Appalling distribution, straight to opposition feet numerous timea which could and regularly would be punished at this level. The problem with it in the current system rather than under Dyche is that we tend to be wide open when he does it.
Made a lot of saves but nothing that i wouldnt really expect a premier league keeper to make.

Vitinho 7 - better than expected in the 2nd half but first half poor. He is weak physically and mentally and got away with another horrific error when he gifted them the ball first half in our own box.
O'Shea 7
Beyer 8
Taylor 7
Gudmundsson 6 - Becoming a bit of a problem, offers much better protection in the role than any other winger we could put there and boy do our right backs need protecting. But he offers very little going forwards and has become more and more one footed as hes got older. He used to occasionally beat men down the outside to keep them guessing in his early years with us but thats a diatant memory now.
Berge 8 - Controlled parts of the first half, second half was all about his anticipation, positioning and calmess when defending. Wonderful player. Would like to see him alongside cork when seeing games out so we could maintain a foothold in possession.
Brownhill 7 - improved in possession in recent weeks but still not comfortable receiving in tight spaces, one of the reasons we have much less possession at the moment.
Odobert 6 - i thought he was rubbish in the main, a few nice glimpses show potential and a bit of a lucky goal, looked a bit complacent from brighton who had 3 players around him and somehow allowed him to come inside and shoot
Amdouni 6 - shows great composure and link play at times but he isnt incisive, im bot sure his vision is as good as impressive expect. Also has a great knack of not being on the end of any chances, i can hardly think of any big misses hes has this season. Compare this to jay whos had big chances in most of the games hes played this season. Think it was dyche who used to talk about having the bravery to miss and keep putting yourself in the right position, not sure this guy does.
Rodriguez 7 Thought he was excellent for the first half hour, winning headers/linking play and gpt himself an assist. Then faded second half, should have lifted his chance over the keeper but at least he made the movenent to get onto the rebound.

Ramsey 3 - How Kompany hasnt learnt his lesson with this guy is unbelievable. He coughs up possession in his own half when the pressures on time and time again, did it again about 90 seconds beofre the goal holding onto the ball rather than releasing snd it cost us in the end.
There is a talent there but hes probably about 2 or 3 years away from being a premier league player

In general i though we played well first half but awcond half was abysmal. As soon as we took off jbg for ramsey we went to pieces, im baffled by that sub. Protecting a lead, takes off our most disciplined experienced winger and brings on an inexperienced number 10 to play there.

After the equaliser the whole plan was chucked out of the window, gone was the dyche like 'framework'which was stopping them building up through their central midfield. We just chucked on a bunch of defenders, stuck them in a line and hoped to cling on. We managed it through brightons poor finishing rather than anything particularly impresisve from ourselves.

Amazed that Trafford gets criticised for his distribution- if everyone is marked who is he supposed to pass to. The team has zero movement, all he can do is clear it .

Bizarre comment. Either chip it up towards jay. Or punt it over the top if theres literally no other option (which isnt usually the case). Most keepers in this league now chip it out to the full backs but im not sure hes capable of that pass regularly without miss kicking a few along the floor

What he absolutey cant do is try to find a midfielders feet centrally and not find his target leaving the whole team exposed. That is crimimal

Look at other keepers playing in this league alongside the best players in the world - do they bugger their passes up? Yes all the time- here’s a young keeper playing with static marked full backs and no forward able to hold the ball up, along with zero movement elsewhere- and it’s his fault? Not sure what you’re expecting, but to criticise him is grossly unfair

Oh ok then, just drill it along the floor right to a Brighton midfields feet.

I have nothing against Trafford, but to blame other players movement for him giving the ball away is a nonsense. The players will be given set roles for Goal kicks, if they are all unavailable then he has an easy job in a way, go over the top for the head of Jay or a runner if there is one. What seemed to be happening is he was looking for overly ambitious and risky passes into midfield that risked leaving us completely exposed when he misplaced them. Unfortunately he doesnt have the technical prowess to do it reliably,

From tv
Trafford 8 excellent shot stopping kept us in the game, but minus one for extremely poor distribution.
Vitihno 7 good game, but he's still not great one on one as a defender.
O'Shea 8 his type of game: under pressure and had to use his physical presence.
Beyer 8 again had to defend well against constant pressure.
Taylor 7 decent performance against a strong wide player.
JBG 6 he seemed to be playing more centrally than wide.
Berge 6 good first half, but our midfield was non-existant in the second half.
Brownhill 6 see Berge comments
Odobert 7 plus one for cracking goal, he's another youngster with plenty to learn.
Amdouni 6 good first half but fades again.
Jayrod 5 no service, should have scored with his one chance, he's not the future is he?

Ramsey 4 I'm not sure what he (or Tresor for that matter) bring to the table. I really hope that Ramsey and Tresor prove me wrong and become important players for the team, I just can't see it at the moment.
All in all, we rode our luck and it was a good, battling performance to get a much needed point. We have to just carry on battling and see where it takes us.
