New Year in memorium
Sadly lost a Burnley supporting friend who died from cancer this year. How do I go about adding a name to the list?
Re: New Year in memorium
I'm guessing there'll be an update about it soon.

Re: New Year in memorium
Isn’t it usually the first home game of the New Year?
That would be Luton on the 15th but that’s a Monday so may wait until the next game on a Saturday which is Fulham on 3rd Feb

Re: New Year in memorium
Been organised by us ever since this started 11 years ago. We've tried contacting the club with emails to the SLO and Russell Ball to try and make arrangements but they have gone unanswered. I suppose at least they are doing it although it was agreed and written in policy that it would be a minute's silence.wilks_bfc wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 5:44 pmConfirmed as the Luton game on the 15th Jan

Disappointing that it’s not a minutes silence

Re: New Year in memorium
I do think a minutes silence is far more appropriate but maybe they are thinking back to the idiots from Coventry who shouted/chanted through it last season.

One of the most disappointing things imho, they bang on about being together etc but actions speak louder than words.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 7:07 pmThey just don’t communicate any longer with supporter groups

They do though,as long as they are not Burnley supporters, and have bought away hospitality ticketsClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 7:07 pmThey just don’t communicate any longer with supporter groups

Re: New Year in memorium
After last year's cock up involving the sadly passed Mr Litoris, will we see Mike Hunt make an appearance?

Re: New Year in memorium
Quick question - I’ve added my Father in law to the roll call.
Unfortunately as the games been moved I can’t now attend.
Do the club put the actual roll call footage from the night on their website afterwards so family members can see it?

Re: New Year in memorium
A good number of names on there this year including one very good friend of mine although I couldn’t read the names on the night given the speed they moved on the big screen.

I have a feeling it was timed to be a minute to coincide with the ref blowing for the applause, at least that’s how it seemed to me CT.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 5:50 pmHad to read them in the programme. They were moving very quickly on the screen with a very difficult to read font in any case.

Re: New Year in memorium
Watching the names and ages made me think.
Still in my 50's just.
Sadly some young supporters ages were up there with the ages gradually increasing up to the 50's then the numbers took a massive jump into the 60's and 70's , majority were in this age bracket. They weren't many in their 80's and 90's . Be interesting to see the demographics of Burnley in comparison to some of those leafy suburbs where everybody lives into their 90's .
