Re: Ref News
As long as they are both appointed on merit, as opposed to some stupid box ticking thing, or quota achieving exercise, then great. God knows the current crop of PL officials could with some serious competition for places.

She can't do any worse than some of the male refs we've had!

Re: Ref News
Surely can’t be 15yrs since we had a black ref??? Though apart from old Uriah Rennie not many come to mind .
Good to see a woman getting the gig though if genuinely no
Idea there was a female ref on the Prem roster .

Exactly the kind of fast tracking that those who are opposed to women in the men’s game will jump all over. Doesn’t exactly help the cause does it? Let’s hope her performances prove the doubters wrong.AGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 7:21 pmHer total career

Re: Ref News
Because when something’s already at the bottom of where it can be, (and if we are truly honest, refereeing in this country is bloody AWFUL - not helped by an inept and unfit for purpose VAR) it really can only get better…

Re: Ref News
Well, first of all very good luck to her. However, your argument isn't necessarily accurate. It implies anyone could do better and that's simply not true. We've seen the same argument put forward for player replacement and manager replacement.
Re: Ref News
At the moment I'm happier with younger refs with less Premier League experience. The experienced ones have mostly been taught that they must give free kicks whenever anyone falls down unless they are absolutely certain it wasn't a foul. Younger ones are more likely to wave play on.

Re: Ref News
After seeing some of the howlers she has given in the championship this season (no more so than the Sheff weds one) that is some statement.
I am absolutely amazed she has been promoted (other championship refs must be asking themselves how this even remotely fair).

Re: Ref News
Surprise surprise let’s give a new rookie ref to the premier league a Burnley game in their first one or two matches, like they have several times this season. A much less important team than the high profile big brands, in the event of bad mistakes being made.
