Re: Everton fans in home end
Hate to say I told you so, but this has been coming for months. I’ve emailed the club on numerous occasions about the away fans being sold tickets for the JML hospitality and this was an accident waiting to happen.
A guy got punched that hard yesterday in the JHU that we could hear it in the JML. I’m not sure whether he was Burnley or Everton but hope he’s ok regardless.
I’d like to say that this would encourage them to sort the issue out, but I have zero faith that we have the people in place that have the interest or ability to sort this out.

Appears on Twitter that pretty much anyone could get a ticket in the home end with over 500 tickets being released close to the game ? All the comments (which don’t appear to be dickheads) are on the thread where the vid on here was posted .

Totally agree. My dad, who's in his 70s by the way went up to Edinburgh for the six nations game, and said him and his friends have never been abused as much by Scottish fans.
He said it was far worse than anything he'd experienced at a football game, that's some claim considering the era he grew up in..

Yep, there were plenty of stewards and Police about when they were doing their" sit down so the corporate guests can see campaign".SalisburyClaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 10:54 amI’m sure if I took an unauthorised flag in the ground, I’d soon find plenty of stewards around me.
To be serious, I know of 3 families who won’t be going again. There will be plenty more.
The club are sadly getting lots wrong both on and off the pitch at the moment...

There weren't 500 tickets released close to the game. That was spread by an Everton fan saying that they'd been given an additional 550 tickets late last week, which obviously they hadn't.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 1:27 pmAppears on Twitter that pretty much anyone could get a ticket in the home end with over 500 tickets being released close to the game ? So was he an Everton fan in our section? If so, he must have been given a ST card by a Burnley fan!AGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 1:33 pmI was sat next to him and I've never seen him before in my life, he was ****** and a huge unit, It took about ten of them because of his size
Re: Everton fans in home end
If said Burnley fan is in the seat for the Liverpool match then one of you can ask him if he gave season card to the drunk obnoxious scouser?
Or there is a fair chance there may be another drunk obnoxious scouser in the seat for this match? This time of a red persuasion.

No he was singing Burnley song's and giving Everton loads of crap during the game, I've never seen him before home or away he looked like he was part Greek or something like that but he was hammered and a big lad, he jumped the wall divider and three stewards grabbed him but when he run at the Everton fans he dragged all three along with him, that's when all the police jumped in but it took at least ten of them to stop him reaching the Everton fan's and to dragg him off

Re: Everton fans in home end
Fair enough. Personally I’m glad Dyche is doing well, at the same time I’m happy that no matter how hard I wish for an Everton victory it has absolutely zero impact on the outcome.MACCA wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 8:59 amNot that daft as I ( and no doubt others) will know people who's day was about Sean Dyche, how good he us, how they wish we had him back etc.
And won't have talked about much other than him.
They constantly comment on Everton results, goals and how good he's doing.
Obviously that's to my teams detriment, I wish he'd lost all 38 games this season as that is beneficial to my team.
Others don't, that's a fact.
Re: Everton fans in home end
Yes we saw and heard it too from the JML, quite a few punches thrown and one lad was sent sprawling down a few rows....quite steep up there from what I remember.FeedTheArf wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 12:39 pm

Re: Everton fans in home end
In the JHU block 9 there is a new sign saying “Jimmy Mcilroy suite seating” meaning this will continue to happen for every game going forward.
I saw the Everton fans being escorted up to the seats by a club employee, they weren’t tickets bought at the ticket office or in the ticket exchange, they were corporate guests who obviously hadn’t been vetted by the club.
Kids and families were leaving, the lad and dad next me went to try and find seats away from the fighting, they returned later but the lad was upset so they ended leaving.
Russell Ball turned up, got an earful from a selection of fans, he’ll be preparing his statement for tomorrow.

Maybe they were referring to our own unsold tickets and /or ticket exchange ? Whichever , they certainly managed to get plenty . Not the first time from Everton either . Often a few London club fans dotted about but rarely seen a group as such .

Seems to be a bizarre thing that Twitter user says for every game.
Presume it’s some sort of absolutely hilarious joke that’s everyone else doesn’t get.
Re: Everton fans in home end
I have ended up in the wrong end from time to time and have never had any trouble. The best bunch were the Millwall supporters in Cold Blow Lane!
Re: Everton fans in home end
Also, not long ago, CT wrote about the Foodbank and fans donations/collections. Liverpool had got it sorted and Liverpool/Everton brought a lorry load of food and subsequently made a collection of thousands of pounds.
I would suggest the benefit of the doubt should be given and that the policing/stewarding and in particular the seat selling, should be questioned first.

Re: Everton fans in home end
The bit I don’t get is that if they were corporate guests from that new sports bar some will get the padded seats in the JML and some will get the normal seats in the JHU. That’s in the T&Cs.
Logic suggests fans will be kept in “booked groups” but otherwise they will be a mixture. The club won’t know who supports whom.
That means a pair of Clarets paying top dollar for the sports bar as a one off treat could be stuck in between 10 gloating Evertonians despite being in the Clarets home stand.
Instinct - this feels like amateur hour. Total lack of contingency planning (i.e. “what if” this happens) which is how to run any business. If you don’t know how to run a football club you employ someone who knows how to run a football club (e.g. Baldwin or, despite the stick he gets, Hoos) and you delegate a lot of decisions to that person. I sense that hasn't happened and is the key weakness in the “fan experience” despite good intentions.

Re: Everton fans in home end
Tickets are available at most grounds ( in the home ends) at inflated prices through online retailers.
There have been a number of other teams fans being thrown out of the JH this season. It takes an age because the stewards are incapable of throwing them out. They always have to wait to get a superior and sometimes a superior’s superior ( who’s normally a big lad) to get them out. The ones on the pitch couldn’t stop a pitch invasion. I reckon I could get past 10 of them on my own if I was so inclined. Not good enough if kids are scared in the home ends.

Club need a full investigation and statement on what happened, how it happened and what’s being done to sort it.
They’re all too quick to harp on about the safety regulations, time to step up and tell us how and why they put Burnley fans safety at risk for this game.

Wow. Absolutely shocking that the club knew beforehand. I’m glad Ball got an earful from fans, the bloke appears absolutely clueless but to be fair, given his only experience is being an estate agent, it’s not entirely surprising!Chris wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 6:18 pmIn the JHU block 9 there is a new sign saying “Jimmy Mcilroy suite seating” meaning this will continue to happen for every game going forward.

My guess is, they won’t do anything because they’ll have seen the hospitality pound signs and planned the exact same thing for the Liverpool game.NewClaret wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 7:03 pmClub need a full investigation and statement on what happened, how it happened and what’s being done to sort it.

The trouble wasn’t in hospitality though. Apparently Peter Reid was being a knob in hospitality but the trouble was in the stands.FeedTheArf wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 9:21 pmMy guess is, they won’t do anything because they’ll have seen the hospitality pound signs and planned the exact same thing for the Liverpool game.
I think you might be right though because it’s potentially too late to fix all the tickets they’ve sold to away fans.
Tell you what though if they don’t fix it and the season carries on as it is, the club won’t know what’s hit them. Fans won’t put up with that **** when they’ve paid good money for season tickets.

That's what most clubs would have done - it's not rocket science. You policy caused an issue, say sorry and investigate (even if nothing ultimately changes). Page 1 of the handbook on avoiding reputational damage.

I'm not sure you have to dress for hospitality now in the way it used to be but there are hospitality people in there most games I'm told and there have been lesser issues previously.NewClaret wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 10:19 amThat’s could’ve been the issue which is why it’s in block 9 I guess. As in, an option to go directly into the home section on the terraces?
Doubt it - massively doubt it.
This is also just one instance and one stemming from an actual sponsor/affiliated partner of the club.
Multiple other third parties giving tickets away for various games as well; Sorare and other firms of that nature

Usually you get partially fenced/gated off, not directly sat in the concourse
And even if they do it, it’s still stupid - even more stupid when the sales are going through a third party
