Lost interest

Vitinho 7 - worked hard
Delcroix 6 - tried and was alright
JBL 6 - tried
Odobert 5 - tried and put his body on the line but come up short.

The rest can get in the bin - but of course only after they’ve finished filming whatever sort of crap our now soulless plastic ‘football club’ has them do now to promote some shite crypto or car leasing company.

Trafford 4 at least 2 or 3 years away from being ready for the Premier league
Vitinho 7 a rare shining light.
O'Shea 4 just hopeless
Beyer 6 did ok, on his own
Delcroix 5 could have been worse
Bruun Larsen 4 offers very little threat
Berge 6 hardly involved
Brownhill 3 shameful from him today
Odobert 7 our only threat
Amdouni 6 at least he wants to try
Rodriguez 3 just **** off now Jay, you're embarrassing yourself

Foster 6 looked OK, but obviously rusty

VK 3 there is no excuse for that performance, but he'll find one

Trafford 4 shambolic for the goal after an outstanding save. He’s clearly not up to the physicality of this league despite his shot stopping improving.
Vitinho 5 created one good chance.
O'Shea 3 I’ve not idea why we’ve signed him when we want to try and pass out from the back
Beyer 3 dreadful for the second.
Delcroix 4 he looks another baffling signing to me.
Bruun Larsen 4 should have been hooked 30 mins earlier
Berge 5 Everton clearly knew to keep him off the ball and marked him well.
Brownhill 5 offered little
Odobert 6 couple of good runs.
Amdouni 3 one good shot apart he offered nothing
Rodriguez 3 appalling 45 minutes.

Foster 5 couldn’t get into the game.

That was a shambolic performance, the first half in particular was the kind that gets the manager the sack.
A strange lack of changes from the manager in the second half.

Trafford -4 Maybe could have done better for the 1st. Totally at fault for the 2nd. Almost cost us a 3rd when he wanted all day on the ball.

Vitinho - 5
Beyer - 5
O’Shea - 4. Recall McNally. Do something. Thank you and goodnight.
Delcroix -4

Brownhill - 4 - abysmal
Berge -6 - unlucky not to score but lacks urgency.
Odobert - 6
JBL - 3 - dreadful service. Should have been subbed ages before he was.

Amdouni - 4 lightweight and ineffective
J-Rod -5

Foster -6

The first half is unacceptable. The 2nd half is better but at no point did I ever think we had the fight to get back into it.

Again I’m questioning his subs. How has Bruun Larsen lasted 70 mins? How long does Brownhill get a pass for?

I doubt Dyche will get an easier 3 points. We’ve rolled over. I’d rather have a go with the kids now. I’m tired of seeing overpaid players going thru the motions.

Trafford-5 and that's generous. He's a good shot stopper who also knows how to make a routine save look good for cameras. He can't command his area, claim the ball, or pass. Very very weak at both the basics and the key requirements of a keeper in our current system.

Vitinho -5. Up and down without much effect, but at least he battles.
O'Shea -5. Bullied relentlessly.
Beyer-5. Bullied relentlessly.
Delcroix-4. Not up to it at all.

Brun Larsen -5. Did very little but occasionally threatened to fashion something.
Brownhill- 5. Hard worker. Not much else.
Berge- 7 MOM. Did all he could to try keep us going and came close to scoring.
Odobert-5. Fast running with zero aim or outcome.
Jay-3. Finished. Sad end to a hometown hero.
Amdouni-5. One decent chance, nothing else.

Foster -6. Great to see him playing again. Missed you Lyle.

Dyche’s easiest 3 points of the season.
We got spanked first half & if anyone didn't notice, we got spanked the second half.

Trafford 3 would be great in the U21s
Vitinho 5
OShea 3 needs his mum
Beyer 4
Delacroix 3 Been better buying a load of lottery tickets
Brownhill 3 did he play ?
Berge 6
Brun Larsen 3 never be a PL player
Oderbart 6 potential ( but not in my life time)
Jay 3 thanks for the memories
Amdouni 5 lightweight potential

Lyle 5 welcome back

VK 0 would make a brilliant PE teacher.

Trafford 6 - used the ball well and made some good saves
Vitinho 5 - sums us up, looks good until the final action
O’Shea 5 - he sees so much of the ball but doesn’t do enough
Beyer 5 - struggled with Everton’s physicality (no surprise)
Delcroix 6 - rusty after a while out of the team but did ok
JBL 5 - wasted some brilliant crossing chances
Berge 5 - lacked intensity
Brownhill 4 - outmuscled and fought
Odobert 6 - did okay
Rodriguez 3 - should not be starting games at this level
Amdouni 5 - floated around but all at arms length

Foster 6 - so happy to see him back

A very predictable performance, goals conceded and end result. Thought we’d got some fight back in recent weeks but there was a real lack of it again tonight.

Trafford 4 - we want to play a particular style. We had a keeper who was adept at playing that style. We drop him for a lad who is a good shot stopper and can’t play the style. Looks nowhere near.
Vitinho 6 - at least showed some willing
Beyer 4 - very poor
O’Shea 3 - are you kidding me? Signed a player who can’t pass a ball
Delcroix 4 - nope
Bruun Larsen 4 - only Kompany knows why he stayed on so long
Berge 6 - tried his best to start plays, not helped by his partner
Brownhill 3 - shocking performance, looked like he couldn’t be arsed
Odobert 5 - tried a bit
Amdouni 4 - nope, hid a bit today
Rodriguez 3 - knackers yard

Foster 6 - rusty but did 10x more than JRod

A truly shocking performance devoid of anything positive. Dyche must have thought he was in dreamland. Kompany’s decisions may as well be from a Magic 8 ball. Signed players who can’t play the system and dropped those who can. We look a passive mish mash of a football team. But the lack of drive in that second half…I’m not saying the lads downed tools but that was unforgivable. I think Kompany will at the very least be int he chairman’s office tomorrow to explain that performance because that was so far off the standard.

Worst of the season for me. Absolutely dreadful and Everton didn’t need to do much at all for the win.

As mentioned on the half time thread, this was an absolute masterclass by Dyche.
Swapped to 3 centre halves and swamped us in midfield when we tried to play out forcing us to go long in desperation and without quality, which was food and drink for their centre backs.
Unfortunately, when pressed like that in midfield, it shows up Brownhills limitations in possession and meant that Berge was the only real way out of pressure.

Second half they dropped deeper and we just didnt have the quality to score. There was chances there, Vitinhos ball at the end of the first half to Amdouni was simple and he made an absolute mess of it and JBL got in behind a number of times but couldnt find the end product.

It just showed where we are as a team, we don't have the quality or aggression required.

Trafford 5 - I dont care how many saves he makes, he gets bullied at set pieces constantly, he doesnt have a clue where to position himself or how to deal with them if you watch him on the replays. Hes panicking and flapping all over the show. I find it really disappointing that we are becoming basically a development club for younger players like this. He isnt good enough at this level yet and should be out on loan. Consistency comes with age and experience, goalkeepers cant afford to be inconsistent at this level. Got away with a big slip at the end too.
Vitinho 6 - Looks ok on the ball until he gets in a good position where his end product is woeful. He should have put one on a plate for Amdouni and made an absolute mess of it. He also dived in on Mcneil in the first half, who then beat him and put it on a plate for Calvert Lewin. Followed by being caught out for a ball over him to Mcneil who missed the header. He will never be a Premier League player imo, but useful versatile backup
O'Shea 5 - Not convincing, gave the ball away a few times trying to play into midfield. But we didnt concede from open play and dont think he was at fault for either goal. Ekdal should have played in this game if fit, we needed his aggression which was quite obvious. O'Shea could have played right back,
Beyer 7 - One of the few that looks like a Premier league player, just needs more aggression.
Delcroix 5 - Beaten to the header for the 2nd goal
Bruun Larsen 6 - Makes good runs, gets in good areas, mixed end product.
Berge 7 - The hub of our team and Dyche made sure he was swamped first half, couldnt get on the ball. Back to his best second half when they dropped deeper and let us play
Brownhill 4 - Really poor in possession, and he couldnt match their midfield physically which leaves nothing left. We need to find an upgrade to someone that can match his leadership, work rate and pressing whilst also having some quality on the ball, but thats hard to find
Odobert - 7 - Lively and worked hard.
Amdouni 4 - Plus one for the long range effort - This was a disgrace by him, swanning about with no intensity and completely unwilling to make any penetrative or threatening runs. Just happy to get the ball to feet, maybe do a nice little turn every now and again and not much else. Id drop him after this, its not good enough. Either Foster and Jay, or Tresor and Foster for me.
Rodriguez 6 - His partner should have been hooked not him. Working off absolute scraps, won his fair share of headers, worked hard and was unlucky with a clever turn and shot from Odoberts cross

Foster 6 - Offered some pace and running in behind which we sadly lack, but not really his day

Thats harsh, it comes flying at him. Delcroix got bullied, Trafford parries it right out into the centre of the goal and Berge switched off slightly not expecting it to bounce back across. Id look at those three before O'Shea

Seriously? We lost to two set pieces against a very powerful side. It wasnt good by any means but this really is over the top nonsense.

Trafford 4 - copied and pasted from another poster above because spot on: we want to play a particular style. We had a keeper who was adept at playing that style. We drop him for a lad who is a good shot stopper and can’t play the style. Looks nowhere near.
Vitinho 6 - he has pleasantly surprised me, looks like he cares and does some good things. But that a limited player like him is amongst our better performers tells its own story.
Beyer 4 - sigh. Would like to see him next to an experienced ch such as JT or BM but he looks lost to be honest
O’Shea 4 - sigh. At least he can head the ball. But his passing jfw
Delcroix 4 - looks like what he is, a journeyman defender playing at least a league above his natural ability
Bruun Larsen 5 - I’m marginally less critical than some as I think there is a player in there but his final ball today simply not good enough
Berge 6 - he is our best player but under pressure constantly and inevitably makes some mistakes
Brownhill 3 - I like Josh but today was pretty bad
Odobert 6 - would be great introduced gradually into a stronger team. Does some good stuff. But naive and inevitably makes mistakes
Amdouni 4 - 3 good flashes that come to nothing a game is simply not good enough in the PL
Rodriguez 4 - had a bit of a shocker

We played some good football at times and were unlucky with a couple of chances but Dyche did the job he does on teams like us and once we'd gifted them 2 there wasn't really any coming back.

Trafford 5 no point in doing the remarkable if you can't do the basics. The first goal is a tall player winning a header against a goalkeeper with his arms up. That just cannot be happening at this level.

Vitinho 6 not too bad, probably should have taken it himself rather than crossing when Godfrey cleared

O'Shea 4 nah

Beyer 5 OK buy still doing these utterly stupid turns back on himself in the box, needs to wise up

Delcroix 3 this guy is Steve Morgan levels of bobbins. A baffling signing.

Berge 6 marked out the game first half, did a bit better in the second, unlucky to hit the post

Brownhill 5 largely nullified

Odobert 5 some decent runs, worked hard

Bruun-Larsen 6 similar to odobert, got in behind a few times

Amdouni 4 one for the long ranger, but this was pretty poor. He's not a striker, waited for the ball from Vitinho to reach him rather than getting in there and it was cleared

Rodriguez 4 put the effort him nobbled twice and up against 3 was ineffective

Foster 4 good to see him back, same as Jay though

Frustrating given we know what to expect from a Dyche team.

Another in a frustrating season. We weren't as bad as some people want to criticise but we were always second best, once that first goal went in. It is OK saying that we knew how Dyche would set up but stopping a team of physical giants, WITH ability is another thing entirely.

Trafford 7 - get off his back, he's doing OK.
Vitinho 6 - a decent showing.
O'Shea 6 - OK. Takes a beating on here but he's OK. We need a dominator in the back pairing.
Beyer 7 - good and bad. Like DOS, would look much better alongside a dominator.
Delcroix 6 - better than he has been with some quality footwork.
Bruun Larsen 6 - some exciting stuff and some very wayward end products.
Berge 6 - some great play but not effective enough
Brownhill 5 - pushed around a bit
Odobert 7 - promising.
Amdouni 5 - nice touches and with a winning team will look a real player.
Rodriguez 6 - not going to score many but his positional play, linking with MF and defence are pretty good, still.
Foster 7 - Glad to see him back. Hopefully, he can get back into the swing of things.

We play some nice stuff but we lack a cutting edge and are too easy to score against. Not a great combination.

Trafford 5 A couple of good saves. however you knew what was coming at corners and he sadly couldn’t handle it. Literally and metaphorically.

Vitinho 6 ok and really tried, but picking up Tarky on corners, my oh my

O'Shea 4 meh, did ping a nice ball forward in the second half

Beyer 5 OK going forward.

Delcroix 3 think this guy would struggle in the Championship,

Berge 5 First half anonymous, second half better

Brownhill 3 sideways and backwards today, largely anonymous

Odobert 5 some decent runs, worked hard

Bruun-Larsen 6 similar to odobert, got in behind a few times

Amdouni 4 Houdini would be more apt, needs to play a pass quicker, not and run and carry every time he gets the ball

Rodriguez 4 struggling, being kicked so often didn’t help I’m sure

Foster 6 great to see him back hope he continues his recovery

Schooled by Dyche in all departments, they worked harder, ran more and we have no one the pitch who wanted to take the game to Everton. Our movement and options in the first half were expertly nullified. no shot on target in the first half at home. One or two of them hid today, as poor a performance as I can remember. Need to start culling some of this team and leave us with a core that can take on the Championship.

Easy three points for Dyche. It was reminiscent of watching us beat Norwich 2 nil under Sean a few years ago. We went two in front early on and that was that. We allowed Norwich all the ball they wanted, safe in the knowledge they wouldn't hurt us. It was depressing to see the roles reversed today. The game was over as soon as Onana scored and I've not lost interest in a game as quickly as this since the Cotterill era.

We simply have to be better than this. There are ways of losing and this isn't it. We're an embarrassment to the League and some of the players simply aren't fit to wear the shirt. It's unacceptable and in my opinion this was the worst display of the season by quite a margin. No plan, no urgency, no physicality, no quality in the final third, schoolboy defending... an absolute horror show.

A pathetically weak performance from the players manager. Alan’s enjoying the project though.

Trafford 5
Vitinho 5
OShea 4 Championship. What a poor buy
Beyer 5
Delcroix 4 played some poor balls. Not PL standard
Larsen 5 mixed
Berge 6
Brownhill 5
Odebert 6
Amdouni 4 one good shot but fail to see what he offers to the team
Rodriguez 4 talk about flogging a dead horse. At least this sun was right

Foster 6 good he’s back

Toothless and spineless. Not enjoying watching this at all.

That was as bad as it has been for me. You didn’t need a scouting report to know how Everton were going to set up. To say we’re supposed to be learning lessons, it’s hard to point to any learnt from the cup game against the same opposition.

Trafford 4 - it’s pointless making a top quality save if you’re going to flap at the resulting corner.
Vitinho 6 - we’d have a real player on our hands if he could find a final ball
O’Shea 3 - a duffer
Beyer 6 - the best of a bad bunch in defence
Delcroix 5 - square peg in a round hole
Berge 6* - got better as the game went on
Brownhill 4 - really poor showing
Larsen 3 - not good, and wasted every single corner
Amdouni 4 - on the periphery of nothing all game
Odobert 5 - lively first 10. Carried out defensive duties diligently
Rodriguez 3 - less said the better

Foster 4 - delighted to see him back, but absolutely nowhere near ready to be playing based on that showing.

Trafford 3 one good save followed by two howlers, his fan boys seem to have disappeared after last week
Vitinho 4
Delcroix 5
Beyer 5
O'Shea 3 quite possibly the worst centre back getting regular starts in the league
Berge 5

JBL 4 few decent touches but awful delivery all day
Amdouni 4 missing for the majority
Odabert 4
Jay Rod 3

The definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

Trafford- 6 - unfairly maligned by others. One top class save cancelled out by a failure to push Keane's shot wide for the second goal, but otherwise I thought he was fine and stood up to aerial bombardment as well as could be expected. The first goal was not his fault.

Vitinho - 6 - not bad and showed more movement than most of his more offensive colleagues.

Delcroix- 5 - thought he did OK defensively in open play but like so many others, under powered.

O'Shea - 7 - one hairy moment (which he recovered) aside I thought he was very solid.

Beyer - 5 - caught out a few times, most obviously for the second goal where Keane does him from the initial punt with embarrassing ease.

Brownhill- 5 - stuck at his midfield task ok but has to defend the first goal better.

Berge- 7 - did OK for the most part against a physical, well drilled Everton midfield 3, but whilst he was covering for others the lack of aggression in trying to get to Keane for the second is why he's not made the step to a top 8 team.

Brunn Larsen - 5 - Showed nice movement on quite a few occasions but with one exception, his final ball was awful.

Odobert - 6 - really bright in the first half and showed glimpses when we got him the ball after the break, but when he's won the space, he has to make it count.

Amdouni - 4 - the usual. A terrific strike and one nice through ball half way through the second half, and a few other nice touches but too often too passive, too often too static - and also didn't do his job at set plays to stop the runners.

Jay - 5 - I thought there were worse players in the first half but he certainly wasn't getting any change out of the Everton back 3 and clearly wasn't able to run the channels although he did try at times.

Foster- 6 - added a bit more intent to our front line and at least showed for the ball but it will take him time to get back to speed and we need to be very careful with him. A nice surprise to have him back.

That team was always going to be underpowered generally, and completely overwhelmed at set plays, and it always lacked the movement up top to stretch a likely Everton back 4, and certainly did against a bog powerful back 3. The goals were awful; but more concerningly they were completely predictable and exposed old failings in doing the basics.

We showed some nice touches at times but the reality is that the aggression, intent and will to win of Everton vastly exceeded ours. They won the duals in both boxes, competed with more determination and ran harder. That is not good, not good at all.

Trafford 4 (I'm not "piling on" but after making an unbelievable save, he's all over the place at the resulting corner! Bread and butter stuff imo. Pope, Heaton and 100 other keepers catch or punch that ball. He's flapping and Everton score. Making the worldy saves is the easy bit when it comes to goalkeeping. It's doing the everyday, simple stuff which makes the real difference and he can't do it!! Wake up VK!!!)
Vitihno 5
O'Shea 5
Beyer 6
Delcroix 6
Brownhill 4 (Was he medically sedated???)
Berge 6
Oderbert 7 (showed real intent)
Brun Larson 6
Amdouni 7 (loads of skill and pace, but he's never quite sure what to do with it!)
Jay 4

Foster 6 (Actually made a difference)

It's so, so frustrating because it's the same pretty much every single match. We play ok, we look comfortable, we're probing, we're in no trouble and the opposition are doing absolutely nothing to hurt us and then we simply give a ridiculously soft goal away out of pretty much nowhere and we then spend the rest of the match huffing and puffing against a team extremely well versed in game management. Everton (exactly like Wolves) really weren't two goals better than us today, but they coasted to it in the end because they knew from the outset what every team knows. Burnley will always f*** up or gift you a soft goal at some point!!! It's become embarrassing!

Trafford 5, pulled off a quality save from.DCL header. Cannot defend corners.
Vitinho 5 moments of pace but he isn't prem level
O'Shea 4 literally championship level at best
Beyer 6 some decent runs
Delcroix 4 quiet and lightweight

Bruun Larsen 5 made some decent run and made space for crosses, crosses weren't great though
Berge 6 * shoe composure, one of a few that can
Brownhill 3. Should not be in this team. Anonymous. When on the ball is bullied. Has zero leadership. Shambolic tonight
Odobert 6 some good moments
Amdouni 3 one of defensive corners he looked so disinterested. Kompany shouted at him and he was so petulant.
Rodriguez 3 absolutely not prem level

Foster 5 great to see him but was fed very little

This is on Kompany, its his team, his players. So niave, so weak, so little desire.

Some good players in this squad. It needs a rocket up each of their backsides and quickly.

Few points

1. VK is really going to die on his James Trafford hill isn't he? We are basically playing almost half a season with a GK who isn't fully physically and mentally developed for premier league football. Everyone can see it, and if it costs VK his job, i've little sympathy now as this change should have happened 10 games ago.

2. Please can we never see Delcroix play at left back again? Everytime he plays we ship goals for fun. He is mid championship at best.

3. As others have probably mentioned, it's games like today where the vast chasm in summer recruitment was glaringly apparent. No physicality in the spine at all, no decent full backs, no firepower.

I think that was our worst performance of the season :( If we could've reached Jan with about 12-15 points then we could have had a crack, now we are stuck in no man's land (or **** creek)

Trafford 3 - Weak, doesn't command his box, doesn't shout at his defenders, dallies on the ball, can't kick it long when needed, need I go on?
Vitinho 5 - Did ok
OShea 4 - Give Ekdal a go FFS
Beyer 5 - Was a bit weak against DCL
Delcroix 3 - Rank
Larsen 5 - Best of the attackers, but his final ball was awful
Berge 6 - Our best player
Brownhill 4 - anon
Odebert 5 - Looked lightweight today, I'd have hooked him after 60 mins
Amdouni 4 - Weak as **** tonight, should have buried the chance before half time
Rodriguez 4 - Didn't do anything constructive

Foster 6 - We desperately need him back and firing
Benson 6 - They started backing off when he came on, a plus

This team has no urgency and no balls. It is very hard to root for them at the moment.

Trafford 4 - Defended him on here plenty but that was soft, juvenile goalkeeping tonight. Everton smelt blood the second they saw him.

Vitinho 6 - Effort is there, quality isn’t particularly.

Beyer 5 - Struggled to win anything in the air.

O’Shea 4- Sick of seeing him be used as our playmaker and ‘main man’. Why on Earth are we consistently giving a bloke who’s distribution is generally dire the ball more than anybody else? Ekdal not playing instead of him is laughable - particularly in a game against such an imposing side.

Delcroix 4 - I thought he looked a total fish out of water. Not comfortable on the ball at all and looks a long, long way off this level of football.

Berge 5 - Couldn’t get to grips with Everton’s strong and industrious midfield. Garner and Onana absolutely dominated both he and Brownhill.

Brownhill 4 - As above.

JBL 5 - Tried wilfully but horrendous delivery on a consistent basis.

Odobert 6 - Probably our best player on the day. Has talent but looks an age group lower than this level of football. Will be a joke in the Championship.

Amdouni 3 - Absolutely nothing from him tonight and I didn’t get any sense of him particularly being arsed about what was transpiring. So superb against Sheff and then turns this out? I cannot work him out at all. The one thing I’m certain of is that he is the definition of a player you do not want in a relegation battle.

Rodriguez 3 - Absolutely awful tonight. His race is run.

Subs:

Foster 4 - Glad he’s back, offered nothing though.
Benson 5 - As above.

A thoroughly miserable experience. Only points I can proffer as bright spots today are that Dyche got (and returned in kind) the reception he deserved before the match - it was sad to see how easily he worked us out. Additionally - my first experience of the improved corporate offering and I thought the Christmas dinner was very decent. That’s about all I can muster. Absolute shite.

In fairness to Delcroix, he’s a centre back, not a left back. **** knows why we didn’t start with Roberts at right back and Vitinho left back.

He’s being hung out to dry like Al-Dakhil was when we stupidly decided to try him at right back.

Whoever the opposition is, they literally don’t have to do anything proactive to beat us.

We are too soft all over the pitch and confidence throughout the squad is obviously rock bottom now.

Trafford 5 - he’s not a PL keeper, plain and simple. Makes the saves you’d expect any league 1 and above keeper to make. No conviction in his passing, never starts an attack doesn’t take charge

Vitinho 5 - doesn’t have the technical ability to play in this league

O'Shea 5 - never seen a Burnley centre half so often out of position and having to sprint back towards his own goal. Clips a lovely ball or two a game

Beyer 6 - mmmmm. Is this level too much for him? Few nice runs out of defence.

Delcroix 5 - seems to play in slow motion

Bruun Larsen 5 - got into some great positions but final ball was lacking today. Fizzed a lovely low cross in during the second half but no one busting a gut to get on the end of it

Berge 6 - did ok. He’s basically being asked
to run the midfield on his own

Brownhill 5 - not a PL player

Odobert 6 - some promising bursts

Amdouni 4 - really quiet first half, came into it a little bit second half. We don’t have anyone capable of consistently feeding him the ball to feet in central positions

Rodriguez 5 - no chance against their back line

Foster 6 - decent movement, but again no one with the foresight to release him
