Mr Joe Barton...mouth shut............. NO
This chap never learns, because the womens England goalie gets the BBC sports personality award and its a woman footballer like last years, hes up in arms about it, and he is not short on using the F word either, he says out of 100 penaltys he would score the whole 100 against her, bonkers, he says its a fix and that Ronnie O Sullivan or someone with more skills than a woman goalkeeper for England should have won, no wonder hes out of work, how did Dyche keep him under control god only knows, any opinios regarding this. First class nut job.

Re: Mr Joe Barton...mouth shut............. NO
He's become so loose with his mouth over such a short period of time, it does make me wonder if things are alright with him. It's not like he's just passing a balanced opinion in a calm way, he's talking like someone who has no real concept of what is going on around him. If I was his friend or family I'd be worried about him.

He’s 100% correct about Ronnie the guys the greatest to play any sport.
Regarding Mary Earps, she’s the best goalkeeper in a very poor standard of football.
I would score 100 out of 100 penalty’s against her easily, the standard shes at is no better than a Sunday league keeper or Under 15s boys team.

It’s actually a bit cringeworthy now. Even the initial shock value has gone and it all comes across as very desperate and a clear attempt to get into the media. But people have stopped really paying attention and he’s just coming cross as that guy you avoid in Wetherspoons.

He's just basically ruled himself out of every vacancy going. As mentioned earlier I think there is an underlying reason for his outbursts and he might need help.

If you continually compare against men then there would never be any female winners. You need to look at someone’s performance within their sport. Previous winners like Paula Radcliffe and Kelly Holmes couldn’t beat the best men
I’d love to see Joey try and score 100/100 against Mary Earls by the way.

I'd watch him take penalties against both Mary Earls AND Mary Earps. Maybe they could both go in goal to even it up a bit?

There’s always some absolute weapon every year who betrays his tiny penis by complaining about women in Sports Personality of the Year.
Ronnie O’Sullivan is amazing. His weight of achievement is fantastic.
But Sports is just one element of it. Personality is another part. And The Year is another aspect.
And anybody who denied Mary Earps’ impact on society with the penalty save, her reaction and the campaign around Nike selling her shirt and instead just diminishes her sport is a moron.
It was sport. It was her personality. It was this year. O’Sullivan, amazing as he is, hasn’t done anything as impactful this year.
Joey isn’t well.

Joey is well, don’t be daft. It’s just hard for him to carry on trying to come off as some highly intelligent law abiding human being. He’s a tw@t and that’s all there is to it.

He’s coming across very creepy.
The messages to Alex Scott then abusing her, his congratulations to the keeper then abusing her the next day.
It’s feels like the kid at school who asks a girl out, gets rejected and then starts calling her fat and ugly.

Re: Mr Joe Barton...mouth shut............. NO
Joey Barton has a podcast coming out soon.
Therefore in typical JB fashion he has to create headlines, many of which have been negative, but in today’s modern world no publicity is the worst publicity, so we have “controversial” headlines.
it is media manipulation at is finest and it has worked, this the second thread on here a well as the countless clicks comments
etc out on social media. So his plan is working, the fact that he is total weapon is immaterial, plenty of people have had successful careers adopting the same m.o.
On the point he made about scoring 100/100 penalties against Mary Earps. Would love to see that and I guarantee he wouldn’t be able to do it.

It looks like he's recently decided that the right wing grifter gravy train is the way to go so is fully launching himself in there (and yes, he may have some left wing views but judging by his recent comments and the company he's keeping it's clearly the right he's after).

Re: Mr Joe Barton...mouth shut............. NO
While it’s a decent analogy , athletics ,like swimming and cycling are pretty linear sports and it’s simply the “ muscle “ mass issue which separates the 2 sexes . Football however is hugely different for multiple reasons of female body physiology ,which essentially makes them pretty poor when compared to men . Keepers seem accentuated in this shortfall as well . She might JUST get in a div 2 u14 academy.TheOriginalLongsider wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 7:52 amIf you continually compare against men then there would never be any female winners. Resulting in -Kelly Holmes -great athlete .
Mary Earps - good fem keeper but dreadful when compared to men .
Ps. I’d also love JB to try , not a chance in holy hell, he’d miss plenty and she’d save a good few too.

I’d even go as far to say I’d save the majority of penalty’s against female players if I was in goal, and iv never been a goalkeeper but played at a decent level outfield.
They just don’t hit the ball with nowhere near much power or accuracy as a man.

I have spent the last 40 years watching England's men fail miserably from the spot.
Did you see Onana's (?) effort for Everton this week??
Anyway, what is this obsession with comparing men against women?
Do you think Kelly Holmes would have beaten Seb Coe?
Would Mary Peters have beaten Daley Thomson?
Would Sharon Davies have beaten Duncan Goodhew?
Would Annabelle Croft beat Andy Murray?
They are different sports!
Having said that, for someone to win that award without actually winning anything at their sport does seem strange.
