FA & League Cup replays to be scrapped.
Along with 2 legged semi-finals in League cup. All so UEFA can make more money.

I’m watching less and less. I don’t watch the PL on tv anymore, even though every single game is live here. The A-League is rubbish. I’ve watched just 3 matches this season. Palace & West Ham on the Turf, and one FA Cup game on tv, but can’t remember who it was now. Oh… I watched that bore fest that was England scraping a draw with North Macedonia.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 6:36 ammore and more people are watching non-league football, I can definitely see the attraction

All done so the already wealthy can make even more money. Screws the chances of non/lower league sides getting a good payday.
Re: FA & League Cup replays to be scrapped.
For me that has become the sole purpose of the cups.

I don't watch live games on TV anymore, just the goals via Skysports. I go and watch Chester RUFC on Saturday afternoons when they are at home. Ten quid to get in, no problem taking your beer onto the touchline and good, reasonably priced beer it is. Lots of endeavour from the players. I leave home at 1430hrs and I'm back by 1700hrs. Far more enjoyable than watching PL IMHO.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 6:36 ammore and more people are watching non-league football, I can definitely see the attraction

I far prefer penalty shoot outs straight after games rather than extra time and replays.
There is far too much football on and judging by TV picks, the TV companies aren't interested in showing big clubs Vs smaller clubs.
If it's just about finances for smaller clubs then you would have to seed the draw.

From a personal point if view its a good thing. Theres nothing worse than your team drawing a cup game and having a long distance away game in a cup you arent going to win.RammyClaret61 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 3:21 amAlong with 2 legged semi-finals in League cup. All so UEFA can make more money.

But its clearly done to benefit the big clubs at the cost of those lower down the ladder, so its probably not something that should be supported

No point in engaging with it. It's not the football I used to like.
I enjoy watching the Burnley team and that's it, all the other ******** that comes with football, I just ignore now. I don't even know the rules anymore. I'm not that interested in the sport. It's gone to ****

To be fair, you've still got the bug if you're enjoying watching this Burnley team at the moment!claptrappers_union wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 1:11 pmNo point in engaging with it. It's not the football I used to like.

Tbf playing the league cup ties at a neutral venue is long overdue. Hopefully away from Wembley though!

I’m surprised one of the cup competitions hasn’t been scrapped by now. Who gives a flying fig about either cup these days?
