Every time I get annoyed with him it simply dissipates when you recall interviews such as this.

A very intelligent, experienced and level headed character.
I cringe at the arrogance and ignorance of some of our "fans" slagging him off.

He is an intelligent, articulate and highly likeable character whom we all want to succeed, but that doesn’t make him immune from legitimate criticism. As well as he did last season, he has really struggled with recruitment, selection and tactics this year. We were more ‘pragmatic’ yesterday, he made some good calls and with Foster back things are looking brighter but let’s not kid ourselves that we are other than in the mire and that there is no certainty that if we fail to stay up, it will be a walk in the park to get promoted again. Every game is a cup tie from now on, so let’s really make Turf Moor ‘hell’ for the opposition rather than us.

Not sure he has struggled with recruitment, apart from failing to find an adequate replacement for Maatsen. Maybe he didn't want to miss signing any of the potential stars who play as wide front men. We don't have to make a judgement on that for a good while yet. It's OK to speculate but not fair to criticise VK as having made misjudgement in this area, presenting your opinion as fact. Also strange that people celebrating an improved performance and result are told to not get too ahead of themselves. Isn't that what the naysayers were doing with their negativity and calling for the sacking of our manager and the rubbishing of our players who are trying their best to improve enough to stay in this league for another season. Just support the players and the manager even when things don't go to plan and when they throw in an occasional poor performance as they did against Everton.
