Trafford showed a bit of determination to command his area coming for that corner.

He's going to turn into a brilliant keeper when he grows into his frame.

Some excellent build up play from us being let down time and time again by awful final ball/decision making. Frustrating.

They're excellent at swarming us, pressuring us, winning it back are Liverpool. As soon as we get the ball, it's all anxiety ridden. All hope is keeping it at 1-0 and a rocket up the proverbial for the 2nd half. We badly need it.

Not that rare. Radio commentator quotes a stat that Salah has never scored or even been credited with an assist playing Burnley. Long may it continue.

We seem determined to concede near the end of the half. Why did Amdouni let him take the quick fk?

We need some Barnes leadership.

Trafford our best player so far.
Wingers contributing nothing nobody can put a good ball in. I'd hook Tresor for Gudmundsson at half time- Odobert has the X Factor of a goal in him, Gudmundsson might shore us up defensively and is our statistically most productive creator this season. I hate him out wide due to his lack of pace and dynamism but I don't think Larsen's the answer here. Redmond could be an option I guess.

Seemed a bit daft to start Trésor on the left - I thought maybe through the middle for Amdouni -

You want a speedster that runs with the ball playing on TAA’s side because despite being a fantastic footballer, he can still be gotten at

Attacking left was his position at Anderlecht where he got all his assists.

I think it was in the preview they were saying TAA's side was Liverpool's weak link as he can't defend. Most of their goals conceded have come down his side of the pitch.

That was poor.

Yes, Liverpool are good.

But the basics just aren't there. Second balls, tracking runners, pressing. Much has been said about how we play with the ball but we're worse without it in my opinion.

Some lovely moments of possession without creating anything.

Not read any of the thread but that was an absolutely appalling first half. The tactical plan is insanity leaving bege and brownhill hung out to dry in midfield.
Vitinho as i say every week is nowhere near a premier league footballer and Klopp has based his game plana round exploiting it with quick direct balls in behind him and obviously he diesnt have the capability to deal with it.

Its another teams thats pressed us heavily in midfield and they dont have the experience or knowhow to deal with it. We have a clear issue with Bayer when hes pressed, he delays and delays waiting for a pass which isnt on then either does something silly or tries a long one with his weak left foot and it goes nowhere near its intended target. He needs to play on the right really.

Id get Rodriguez on for Amdouni, JBG on for Odobert and go narrow and direct. Then when we have a platform in the game and Liverpool start to drop deeper look to turn the screw with more attacking subs

Complete lack of intensity, too passive off the ball, same as first half v Fulham.

we are still in it at 1.0 but we have to play better in the final 3rd and get tighter to them because they are given to much space..

Started brightly and the early goal took the wind out of our sails. Their tactics have negated ours and they’ve been great but really need to stop these miskicks, mistakes, slips and weak play. Need to start the second half like it’s 0-0 and it’s a different game.

Agree he’s way, way too passive today.

Crying out for a monster ball winning defensive midfielder against these teams.

Agree with all of this. Lack dynamism and intensity. When we've had the ball we've been ordinary and wasteful, and without it we've been utterly passive. Berge culpable for the goal for a total lack of commitment, far too many instances of us being too weak and too panicked when on the back foot, and miles too naive and some absolutely ridiculous attempts to play out under pressure.

One of Odobert, Amdouni or Tresor off, more physicality on. And a reset of thought processes. Please.

It’s as if Vinny tells them how to play out from the back but not what to do instead if the opposition is heavily pressing so they carry on doing the same thing still.

Sorry, yes Genk, just assumed Anderlecht because Kompany I think.

I agree but Tresor allegedly had a turn of pace according to some on here. Not seen it today. Move Odobert left, Gudmundsson or Redmond right for me.
Maybe Larsen as he likes to try get in behind but God I'd be scared at how exposed we'd be on the side based on his last few games.

Tresor is awful , he's contributing nothing upfront and not assisting Taylor in defence . Foster doesn't look match fit and Amdouni has great skill but has no end product . Brownhill and Berge are being overrun and need help .
