They seem to be playing it at full blast right until the first ball is kicked. Does a really good job of making sure no atmosphere has built before kick off.

Very American to blast music out right up until kick off. Has the effect of killing off any potential atmosphere until something on the pitch causes the fans to start up.

If they want to do go down this road it feels like the bare minimum should be turning it off once the ref is ready to start

Not as ironic as playing “Three Little Birds” at the final whistle of the last 2 home games, with the opening line it has

I think the pre-match crescendo works really well to create an element of tension.
I'm not sure we really have much of a 'pre kick-off atmosphere' to impact do we?

Thought the light show seems to have been a good idea - the video is well crafted with a good message. I sensed that this has been a success when the natural "come on Burnley!" (repeated) chant that followed it from the crowd happened. Clearly an initiative that has gone down well.

However that song is ******* awful and whoever decided on that needs to have a hard look at themselves in the mirror. That is not what we need/want. As you said, it kills the atmosphere given how loud it is played.

Think they have done a good job with the light show and video messages. It is having zero impact on the field of play though. Have we ever had a worse home record in our history ? Turf Moor is not exactly intimidating at the moment and I expect most teams are looking forward to playing us here.

It’s likely over egging the adrenaline of our own team in my opinion. I’m all for the fervour of a crescendo of noise and the emotion that comes with that, but then the reality of pressure turns that into colon crunching fear for our lot

I like rock music, but this was just too loud, and the speakers were distorting the audio making it a pain to listen to.

A few real positives from the club on the pre match are:

- The playlist leading up to…

- The poem (brilliant)

- The light show

- The PA system seems to have been fixed given everyone used to complain about not being able to hear it and now they’re complaining the music is too loud (maybe tells you something about Burnley fans here)…

I didn’t like the song yesterday. I do like the Eminem one though, which some don’t, so respect

For me what we need is a walk out song after the poem to top off what is a pretty good pre-match build-up otherwise. Everyone with scarves and flags aloft as the players walk out… with the walk out song ending and moving in to ‘come on Burnley’ chants as they kick off.

Seems a no brainer to me and not really sure why the club haven’t facilitated it given they’re half way there on a brilliant build up.

I don’t necessarily find that cringe but wouldn’t be necessary with a walk out song.

I don't mind the song, but it could maybe be stopped a bit before the players are about to kick off. I thought it was going to carry on playing during the first half at one point!

A walk out song that has, or could have, some Burnley associated lyrics, prompting a song from the crowd would be the ideal, for me.

Dirty Old Town has been mentioned a few times, which I think has promise. Surely far better to have something with a bit of meaning than some American rock song that’s just cranked up to ten.

We may not be great at the atmosphere lately, but one thing we don’t need is to be told to “make some noise” when the teams come out

Dirty Old Town is absolutely perfect for us. Epitomises what we are, especially at this level - a Town team fighting against the big boys.

Plus it’s a slow song with a catchy tune that the whole ground could join in with. Would love to see everyone stood singing it, Directors included, as the players walk out.

I think only Salford City & FC United use it at the minute so perfectly nicksble but heard Liverpool singing a song to it yesterday that never really took off. We should commandeer it before some other club does.

A poster on here wrote some Burnley lyrics to it. Think it may have been Colburn. But with all the resources the club has access to, and they could maybe even leverage our very talented fanbase, they could easily get some lyrics sorted. They nailed a very good poem.

It’s not so much the track itself ( which is excellent) it’s the almost mind boggling playing literally until the KO therefore completely killing the build up atmosphere. It’s the sort of thing you’d expect at a US college NFL game . Do the club think it strikes fear into the opposition ? Cringeworthy in the extreme .

It's becoming very American the Turf Moor matchday(sorry, gameday)experience.

Welcome to the Jungle is played all the time in the NFL and NBA, expect Blur Song 2 to soon be played when we score a goal

The thing is, plenty of kids and young people enjoy that kind of thing, which is why they'll be doing it. Obviously won't suit on here as the majority are 60+. I'm not particularly bothered either way but if we are gonna play something I'd sooner it have some energy about it rather than a ballad that sends everyone to sleep

The home crowd have had half a season to create an atmosphere building up to the KO and failed miserably. Why not try something different?

Think this is a fair point, and particularly think you have to accept that if you’re choosing to play a song (or any playlist for that matter), whatever you choose won’t appeal to everyone as we all have different tastes in music. For that reason, if the clubs preference is to play music I think it should be varied.

But for me the big advantage of a walk out song, besides giving the players a great entrance, is that it gets everyone in voice from the off.

I actually think our home atmosphere is very good when it gets going. Only the Bob Lord tend not to join in. I’d sing all game if I could, but appreciate others in that stand just want to sit and watch the match - but I’d assume even they would prefer to watch it to a good atmosphere. Starting off with everyone singing is as good a start as possible to getting the three stands that will sing in good voice in my opinion.

It's impossible for fans to create any pre-match atmosphere with the ear shattering music that's played right up to KO! To me it seems that the music is actually played intentionally to prevent the fans singing pre-match!

Pace et al. are doing all they can to distance themselves and the club from the fans.
This is what American owners do, try to destroy 150 years of english tradition, alienate the fans, then when things go wrong blame the fans and insist everything would fix itself if we all had a drum. Utterly clueless.
They don’t even want to spend 10 minutes getting to know what Burnley is about. All they want is flashy LED lights, drums, loud music, all the gimmicks.

Rio Ferdinand wouldn't agree with you. He was visibly surprised and commented as much about how vociferous the pre match atmosphere was down near the tunnel before the players emerged v United

It would be better if Pace was on a podium in the centre circle playing Slash's part though then im sure the crowd would fully get behind it !

Quite right , though the almost unimaginable dross we’ve served on the pitch hardly bodes for any particular match day anticipation. As per previous it’s not the music per se, but blaring it out to a point where the teams themselves are almost waiting for the music to stop before kicking off seems simply bizarre. Stopping it maybe 30/45 secs before could be a decent que for the crowd .

I don’t think this was the case yesterday. It seems like the players came out a minute or so earlier than they should which I commented on at the time. They then lined up for kick off quite a bit earlier than the scheduled 5.30 start which is why the referee delayed the kick off.

Put our Heroes Portraits back up outside the ground, for a start, that does not help the feel and atmosphere at Turf Moor, flashing lights and all the razamataz, will never work, but a good feel about the team, and results, will make, one hell of a difference,Alan Pace, but even more so VK,please have a rethink, for all our sakes, before it is too late.UTC.

It was like they hadn’t actually considered the token might fall into the same slot. I’m sure they panicked when it happened and then made the rules up to fit.

Pace et al. are doing all they can to distance themselves and the club from the fans.
This board certainly aren’t perfect and have got a few things wrong but the above is a load of nonsense.

The home crowd have had half a season to create an atmosphere building up to the KO and failed miserably. Why not try something different?
The atmosphere has not even been that bad this season, especially for a team that has 3 points from 10 home games.

It's becoming very American the Turf Moor matchday(sorry, gameday)experience.

Welcome to the Jungle is played all the time in the NFL and NBA, expect Blur Song 2 to soon be played when we score a goal
Also, "who are you?" by The Who when the opposition team is read out and Thunderstruck with the light show, going by the NBA and NFL i watch.

"Know your enemy" by Green Day is actually played by FC Halifax Town when the teams come out!

A better choice, in my opinion.
