Palmer a fantastic signing for Chelsea and one seemingly that Guardiola let get away.

Re: Today’s Footy
Still rueful that we were so, so close to signing Cole Palmer on loan before Chelsea came in with that offer. So much could have been different with just 1 or 2 loans of that calibre.
Re: Today’s Footy
He’s improved a heck of a lot now he’s playing every week rather than being a bit part player at City.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 12:48 pmStill rueful that we were so, so close to signing Cole Palmer on loan before Chelsea came in with that offer. Still can’t believe some of our posters think Luton are just a long ball team.

Re: Today’s Footy
Palmer scored the opener and provides the assist for a second. Lucky he is back for this game after suspension.

They've played the second highest number of long balls in the league.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 1:05 pmStill can’t believe some of our posters think Luton are just a long ball team.

Nothing wrong with that mind.

But they also play the long diagonal alot. And why wouldn't you if you had the height and pace to manage it, when you don't otherwise have much of the ball. Pragmatic approach. And by having that option available, makes other playing options available

Re: Today’s Footy
Seeing a replay of a penalty shout for Rangers, seems a blatant handball, but got checked by VAR and no action taken. Pundits in the studio mystified.
You really wonder what exactly the VAR people look for.

Re: Today’s Footy
For all this talk about Luton, if they lose at the Turf they will have fewer points than us over the last 10 games. Their form is only marginally better than ours currently.
I don’t they have the same improvement potential in the second half of the season as we do.

Quite happy to admit I was wrong on Palmer. I wasn't that keen. What a season he is having! That 3rd goal was absollute class.

Superb goal from Palmer, city were mad to let him go.
Re: Today’s Footy
Thought Luton would get something today.
Only seen Palmer play once and have no idea why Guardiola let him go.

Re: Today’s Footy
Chelsea's capitulation since they took the 3-0 lead has been quite remarkably poor.
They lack leadership in a way that we do. Not sold on Gallagher at all.
Luton could still get something out of this.

Re: Today’s Footy
Luton scored 2 so far, hit the woodwork x2 and had x1 chalked off, they have what we don't have organisation and fight

My watch is telling me my stress levels are too high. And we haven't even kicked off. Chelsea and Newcastle between them are doing my blood pressure no favours this December

Re: Today’s Footy
Such a hard thing in life to balance.
It is absolutely natural to want Chelsea to lose.
It is quintessentially British to cheer on the underdog having a good go.
I think Luton remind me of our aproach to the EPL under Dyche.
Will we escape the drop anyway? Is it all irrelevant looking at anyone else's results?
I'm sure there are other things that will make you a bad person, anyway.
P.s. If it wasn't for us getting relegated, I'd love Luton to stay up having such pitiful resources.

Re: Today’s Footy
I said after we drew with them on turf last season that Adebajo would be perfect for us and I still stand by this. He’s a great striker, holds up the ball so well, strong, can head the ball. We should have gone all out for him in January last year. I imagine that ship has now sailed.

Hi JimmyRobbo,
I agree with you. They're giving it a right good go and their fans, I think, must be proud of them.

Re: Today’s Footy
If Forest lose the 6 players expected to the African Cup they could struggle even more. They are losing 4 defenders and 3 of them have played 10 games or more this season. Two are centre halves and two full backs. That must leave them short of players if they get injuries in defence.

The way I look at it JimmyRobbo, I enjoy willing the underdog to score from my armchair knowing it doesn’t make a blind bit of difference to the final result.JimmyRobbo wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 2:35 pmSuch a hard thing in life to balance.

Re: Today’s Footy
If I were a betting man, I'd be tempted to put money on Forest against NH. I just hope they used up their goals in the last two games. United have a raft of CBs out. You just fear Wood will be too good in the air and Onana is not exactly reassuring.
Re: Today’s Footy
Just watching Forest v Utd ,Forest guy does 3 fouls all in one phase ,the last one was a real lunge ,cant understand why he doesn’t get a red,we would have got one,the inconsistency is so consistent.
Re: Today’s Footy
1 0 Forest.
Relegation confirmed really if it finishes like this.

Chuffing Utd ,can’t rely on them apart from when they play us.
