Takes a bigger man to concede you can’t do the job.

Step away Vincent and let someone who knows what their doing come in.
Seriously

Is Berge definitely out for the Luton game, thats absolutely disasterous if so. Cullens the only possible replacement and they will just bully him, id prefer Cork but thatd be a hell of a risk.

It's one thing knowing the threat and another stopping it. He's one of the best strikers in the league.

Everyone knew what Arjen Robben was going to do every time he got the ball, yet nobody could stop him doing it.
You can organise your defence properly.

Stopping runs in behind is very different, and easier, than stopping an individual player beating a man.

Said this after Liverpool. I’d genuinely have started Cullen today to save him for Luton if it’s the case that he doesn’t just sit out Spurs in the Cup.

Game of fractions. Beyer off was a big loss. Foster looking much better. JBG just giving the ball away. WO needs to put more pressure on his fb who looks there for the taking. 2 really soft goals given away as usual

Delcroix and O’Shea at this level are a frightening partnership. That second goal was a complete calamity from Vitinho not pushing up, to O’Shea going to close down Watkins to delcroix being in no man’s land for the cross.

On a side note, how many goals do we concede from 40-45 mins?!

We have looked very good going forward but yet again it’s the basics letting us down.
Taylor also played Watkins on side

Watch Delcroix on the second goal after the balls gone in behind him. He hasnt a clue. Any centre back worth his salt would have sprinted back and got into position around the front post area where he would have cut the cross out no problem.

And no its not because hes an easy target. I dont really have any opinion on Delcroix, not seen enough of him but that was rank bad. As was his right footed pass straight to a Villa player before it when he really obviously should have punted it. I thought we were fairly solid centrally until he came on

I think he actually sees that Vitinho has Watkins and he’s trying to position himself to stop a passback into that space where there’d have been a gaping hole if he ran back to goal

On berge that for me - he was with Diaby all the way then gets bumped off and loses him

At the game and i can't understand why we're playing such a high line against Watkins . There is so much room between our line and Trafford it's scary . Foster has been brilliant but apart from his goal Amdouni has offered nothing. Vitinho is awful today

The offside calls were both correct.
Bearing in mind that Foster is moving too fast for the camera (hence the clown shoes), how can they be sure to the inch of where he was? Bearing in mind that Foster would be moving at about 3 inches in 1/100th of a second, can they be absolutely sure that that picture was taken at the exact 1/100th of a second that the ball was played? (On a probable 26 frames per second camera?)

I think we have played very well except for Vitinho and Taylor.

Unfortunately, what we're seeing is what I feared this year. (I know lots of us did, too.)

Small margins when confidence is high turns into positive outcomes and when confidence is low turns into negative outcomes. Our negligible techincal advantage (compared to relegation contenders) mixed with youth (inexperienced character, mentality, recoginition of danger and physicality) can leave us with too much to overcome.

We will still keep growing and we need to enjoy the good things in the rollercoaster ride.

We've deserved something from this game, so far, yet we're losing and will likely lose at the end of another 45. That's the danger of eating at the big table.

No. They’re pretending to be precise with imprecise tech.

On the plus side, over the last 10 games or so we now look a Premier League side.

We may or may not be too late for that to save us. But if we go down, it can make us like Leicester bouncing back.

He did! He didn’t let him get in behind but cut inside where he should run into a midfielder.

Nowhere near on O’Shea that for me it’s what happens after the ball has been released.

Crosspool I know your an optimistic but that is complete ********.

We don’t look anything like a premier league side. We look like a young inexperienced side that keeps giving games away.

I’m not a fan of Villa’s offside trap against a quick forward line. Far more offsides than anyone, Villa cause.

Fair point but surely if the on field decision was onside it wouldn’t have been overturned?
